GMod Tower: Lobby 2 Guide
By master codebreaker
This is an updated version of my previous guide which you can see here. I made this since I saw some questions on my previous guide about why the trading feature is no longer there, etc. Basically to clear up confusion and help people who are new to the server. Also, if there's anything I've missed out in this guide or messed up on, please let me know in the comments so I can add or make those changes!

Introduction
Some things have changed feature-wise, and some things have changed apparance wise in the new lobby. There's still the same models. However, there even might be a couple of new ones, same goes for the accessories. I've been hearing things about it being this servers last month before shutting down, since the developers are currently still making the gameTower Unite. Also, there is no more server 2. Now, let's go on with the guide.
Getting Started
Why am I getting errors, pls help

This is mainly because you don't have the required content installed in order to play in the server error-free. You also don't have the following games installed or mounted:
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Counter-Strike: Source

The other bit of content you need is the content that you can download via steam workshop:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=132780836
Remember to subscribe to ALL of the addons in the pack or else you will continue to get errors.

After everything finishes, you should be able to join the server without any problems.

GMC and Gamemodes
What is GMC?

GMC has always been the currency for this server. GMC allows you to buy:
  • Models
  • Hats
  • Miscellaneous items(like potions)
  • Things for your suite

How do I earn GMC?
You get it by playing gamemodes, little minigames in the lobby, and by completing achievements/milestones. You can also get some by winning duels.

Current Gamemodes
The current gamemodes on GMod Tower are:

  • Ultimate Chimera Hunt
  • PVP Battle
  • Minigolf
  • Virus
  • Ball Race
  • Zombie Massacre
  • Source Karts

What can I do in these gamemodes?

Ultimate Chimera Hunt
  • Pigmasks have to try and turn the Chimera off by pressing e or clicking the left mouse button on it's back. One player each round will be randomly chosen to be the Chimera. You can get promoted to Captain, Major an Colonel pigmask. In order to be promoted you need to have turned the Chimera off a number of times without dying.

PVP Battle
  • The name is self explanatory, it's player vs player. There are upgrades on the battlefield in every map which can help you wreck some a$$ MLG style.

Minigolf
  • This one is also self explanatory. It's one of the popular gamemodes on the server as it is one of the gamemodes that gives the most GMC.

Virus
  • Players have to try and not get infected. Basically, a player every round gets randomly selected to be the infection, and their goal is to try and infect the humans. The humans have to try and survive. That kinda thing.

Ball Race
  • My favorite. You spawn in a ball, and you have to finish the map. It's fun. You get a bonus round in each map which is where bananas are put everywhere and you can try to grab the most before anyone else does. The more bananas you get in this gamemode, the more GMC you get.

Zombie Massacre
  • Players have to work together and eliminate the zombies. At the end of the match, there is always a boss. You get to choose your class. It's like a strategy game, and is third-person.

Source Karts
  • This is one is fun, however I don't see many people playing it. This gamemode is the Garry's Mod version of Mario Kart, and the two maps are themed just like it. First you have to race in the first 3 rounds, then you get to PvP each other by picking up power-ups and traps when you run into a floating disco ball.

How and Where to purchase items.
How do I purchase items?

Since this isn't the original lobby anymore, the way to purchase things has somehow expanded. Everything isn't in it's own store anymore. The stores have different names, and are on opposing sides of the map from each other if that makes sense.

For example, there's "North Stores" *shown in the first picture* and "South Stores" *shown in the second picture

The stores on the North Side are:
  • Tower Outfitters
  • Toy Store
  • Smoothie Lady at Stand

Tower Outfitters

This is what you should see when you first walk in the store. It should be error-free as well, assuming you did the installation correctly.

Upon arrival, you will see two ladies.

One of them sells wearables like hats, etc and the other sells models

Toy Store

Again, this is what it should look like when you walk in

This store sells some pretty neat things. Also again, two ladies. One sells pets and one sells props for your suite.

**Turtle and Yoshi Eggs are new pets. Yoshi Eggs can be any color and they follow you around the suite.**

Smoothie Lady at Stand

The lady at the stand by the left of Tower Outfitters sells smoothie accessories along with a blender.

The stores on the South Side:
  • Sweet Sweet Furnishings
  • Songbirds
  • Circuit

Sweet Sweet Furnishings

This is the place where you can buy things for your suite.

To buy beds, shelves, tables, etc, go up to the guy by the "Sweet Sweet Furnishings" sign.

An example of what he sells

To buy blocks, pots, and other accessories for your suite, go to the side where you will see two ladies once again

What I meant by blocks:

Songbirds

What it looks like when you walk in[/b]

This sells playable pianos, etc. To buy something, go up to the lady

An example of what she sells

Circuit Board

This place sells electronics obviously

Here is what the guy up front sells

Other areas you can buy stuff
  • Vending Machines

Vending Machines
They are all over, even in the train station when you first enter the server.

They sell potions like these:

Dueling Arena

This is where you would go to duel someone, it's one of the new places on this map along with others. You can also watch current duels here too,

Go up to this guy at the entrace of the Dueling Arena to buy guns, etc.

Example of what he sells

Pulse Nightclub

This is a new area, it's a club duh. It's also where the bar with the alcohol vendor is.

To buy kegs, go up to the bar and press E on the bartender

Example of what she sells (as if it wasn't obvious enough already)

This doesn't really have to do with GMC, but if you want to request a song to play in the club you go over to the vinyl records on top of the stage and press E

This should pop up and when it does, copy the source you got the music from then paste it below

Inventory, changing outfits, suites and casino.
How do I access my inventory?

To access your inventory, hold Q so that this pops up:

Put your cursor over a box, and then this should pop up. It shows what's in your inventory right now. Other things will be in your vault or moving box in your suite which I will talk about later.

How do I equip my model and hat?

You could equip it from the drop down list I showed you, or hold hab and click outfit. (I used a screenshot from the old lobby because nothing changed about that, it's the same process)

Suites

Suites have been updated as well, and are looking more beautiful than ever.

Elevator to go up to suites

Go up to the suite lady to get a suite.

Once you do that, this screen should appear and when it does, click check in

What are vault slots?

Vault slots just give you extra room to put items, it's basically storage just like the moving box. However, I believe the moving box was just a place that gave extra room for things people had during the switch from Lobby 1 to Lobby 2

Once you have checked in
  • Look for your room, derp

I will be using my suite, which is #12

This is what a suite would look like when you walk in, it will be filled with ♥♥♥♥ unless the person doesn't have much GMC to spend

Bathroom in the suite(P.S, the shower door opens and closes and is see through and you can sit on the toilet wink wink):

Bedroom

Other space that comes with the suite beside the bedroom

The Kitchen

**Fun Fact: the plate you see on the table was given to people who have been playing since Lobby 1.**

Now, this thing right here is where you can control your suite. You can host parties, change the sound of your doorbell, play music in your suite, and also buy additional rooms in your suite.

This is what I mean by additional rooms, and that includes the pool you can unlock outside of your suite for 50,000 GMC

As you can see, I haven't unlocked the pool but when you do unlock it it will be outside these doors

Your vault, and moving box

If you wanted to watch a video on your tv, press e on it to turn it on so that it looks like this:

When it looks like that, hold Q so this menu pops up

Press "add media" and when you do pick your video, you would click request video so it can be played and added to the queue

Casino

The Casino also has a beautiful new look.

The slot machines, and the texas hold em tables are back, but there's also some new games

Spin To Win

I recommend you don't do this, it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard to get any of the good stuff on the wheel. You're just gonna get $hit aka a hula doll or something as bad as that.

Not to mention how bad it trolls you. It would look like you got something good but then the next second it moves over to something ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Entrance to the Dueling Arena(assuming you didn't just fast travel by clicking it on the map)

**Please Note that the items you see in the condo are the ones I bought, they don't come with a condo, you have to buy the furniture and other accessories by yourself**
New/Remodeled Areas
Why does the theater look so different omg?

Looks different obviously because this isn't Lobby 1 anymore. The Games area, Casino, Pulse Nightclub, Stores, etc are all what makes Lobby 2.

The Boardwalk

This part is really pretty to be honest. Reminds me a little bit of the pier in GTA V

On the map

You can go on the water slide, sit by the shore, or ride on the ferris wheel. In order to ride the water slide, press E on the balloon

Good job, now you're sliding. Look how fast you're going, GOTTA GO FAST.

Now, to the ferris wheel.

To ride the ferris wheel, just go up to a seat and you will instantly sit down

Enjoy the pretty view of the tower from up top

Theater

Of course, the theater isn't new but it has been remodeled.

The conssession stand is just for show, but Theater 1 is on the left and Theater 2 is on the right

Something that's also been added is the little gameroom that's on the side of Theatre 1

Inside of the gameroom

Right side of the gameroom

There's also a few arcade games lodged on the side of Theater 2

Nothing much has changed in the inside of the Theaters I guess

And of course the Casino, the Tower itself, the stores, bar, games area, and pulse nightclub have been remodeled, but then again Pulse Nightclub is new and hasn't really been remodeled.
Some Other Changes
Some other changes:
  • There's no more groups
  • There's no more Server 2
  • There's no more trading
Other Notes
Other Notes
  • I put "circuit" as the store name mostly because Steam added this stupid amount of characters on sections of guides and I had ran out. The actual name of the store is Central Circuit.
