Use a PS4 Controller to play Stardew Valley!

In this guide i'll be showing you how to use a PS4 controller in Stardew Valley.

First of all you need to download the following file(s):

• DS4Windows link here[ds4windows.com]

Step 1: Extract the files ( 2 files inside the archive you downloaded )
Step 2: Double click on DS4Windows.exe
Step 3: Click on 'Step 1: Install the DS4 Driver' and let it install & complete
Step 4: Restart your computer
Step 5: If you are on windows 7 or below than install the xbox 360 driver aswell ( click on the option in DS4Windows )
Step 6: Now there are 2 options you can do, you can use your PS4 controller with micro-usb connection or with your bluetooth connection, click on ps button on your controller and select the controller in bluetooth settings of your PC and you're good to go.
Connect a micro-usb cable from your controller to your pc to use wired mode ( that's the one i'm using ).
Step 7: Now it should be working and you can click on the button finish

You can optionally make your own control shemes/profiles in the profile manager and adjust more settings to fit your preferences.
The PS4 controller will now act like a 360 controller and will be compatible with any games that have X360 controller support.
You don't have to make a control sheme yourself as DS4 automatically uses the x360 button layout and it works amazing with Stardew Valley in my opinion.
Again, it is possible to make your own controls layouts if you want to.

I wanted to share this as i started using this recently ( only with Move or Die and Stardew Valley , maybe more games later ) and i wanted more people to know this, it's up to you if you want to give it a try <3

Or, without downloading anything:
1. go to Stardew Valley in your steam library
2. Click the gear icon and click "Properties..."
3. A window will pop-up. on the left, click "Controller". There will be a drop down menu, and in that menu select "Enable Steam Input". This will allow you to use controllers that the game developers didn't intend to support, but steam does.

This way, you don't need to install anything that could possibly be sketchy off the internet. Happy Farming

This is NOT needed. Steam has controller support. You don't need to download anything at all. PS4 controllers are plug and play. I run Win7 on my laptop and play, customize my buttons etc.
