Automatic Script for/für 1001 Jackalopes/Wolpertinger Achievement

for another guide of mine (All pictures of all Jackalopes) I created a program to do the screenshot and selection work automatically.
Because some asked for it, I updated it to a more user friendly version and remove screenshot functionality.

And here it is!

Für einen anderen meiner Guides (All pictures of all Jackalopes) habe ich ein kleines Programm erstellt um mir die Arbeit mit der Auswahl und den Screenshots abzunehmen.
Da einige nach diesem Programm gefragt haben, habe ich die Version etwas benutzerfreundlicher gemacht und die Screenshotfunktionalität entfernt.

Und hier ist es!

How does it work? / Wie funktioniert es?

I'm using a modified AutoHotkey[www.autohotkey.com] script "Mouse and Click recorder"[autohotkey.com] to playback a generated mouse movement, click and keyboard sequence.
I recorded the positions of all important locations and put them in a sequence so that it does something useful.

The modified version can be found later in this guide (the upper, no more working link is for reference only).

Ich verwende ein modifiziertes AutoHotkey[www.autohotkey.com] Script "Mouse and Click recorder"[autohotkey.com] um eine vorher generirte Mausbewegungs, -klick und Tastensequenz abzuspielen.
Dafür habe ich zuvor die Position aller wichtigen Positionen gespeichert und in so angereicht, dass diese etwas nützliches tut.

Die modifizierte Version kann später in diesem Guide gefunden werden (der obere nicht mehr funktionierende Link ist zur als Referenz).

Prerequisites

Before the script can be used, there need to be some prerequisites.

At first you will need to have Autohotkey[www.autohotkey.com] installed.
Please install Unicode 32bit, even for 64bit Systems! The 64bit version has issues controlling 32bit applications. Seems to be working again.
Tested with v1.1.23.01. (edit: last test v1.1.30.00)

Further we need a 16:9 resolution in Windows. (1280x720, 1600x900, 1920x1080).
4:3 won't work! Other aspect ratios has not been tested.
Also (thx to GeniusVenator) the in game resolution must set to the same as in Windows.

In the configuration be sure that fullscreen mode is acitvated and the option "lock mouse" is disabled.

Within the game you should be in the zoo of Elysium (doesn't make sense otherwise). Also the box where you insert the datasettes should be open (if not already done).

At last be sure you only have "Ulysses helmet" and the three datasettes in your inventory (see screenshot).


When you start the "playback.ahk" you will see the welcome screen of the modified mouse recorder.


Please remember the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S because this will stop the playback if something goes wrong.

Now tab to Deponia and press the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+P to start the playback. In the beginning you will hear a 5s countdown and after that, the script will start.
Note: If you can hear the countdown but after that nothing happens, rerun the script with administrative rights

The whole script will take about 1 to 1:15 hours, so sit back and enjoy!

Vorbereitungen

Bevor das Script verwendet werden kann, müssen ein paar Vorbereitungen getroffen werden.

Zunächst wird das Tool Autohotkey[www.autohotkey.com] benötigt.
Bitte die Unicode 32bit installieren, auf für 64bit Systeme! Die 64bit Version hat ein paar Probleme 32bit Anwendungen zu steuern. Scheint mit der aktuellen Version zu funktionieren.
Getestet mit v1.1.23.01 (edit: zuletzt getest mit v1.1.30.00)

Weiter muss eine 16:9 Auflösung in Windows eingestellt sein! (1280x720, 1600x900, 1920x1080, ...).
4:3 funktioniert NICHT! Andere Seitenverhältniss wurden nicht getestet.
Auch muss wohl (danke GeniusVenator) in den Spieleinstellungen die gleiche Auflösung wie in Windows eingestellt sein.
In der Konfiguration sicherstellen, dass der Vollbildmodus aktiviert und die Option "Beschränkter Mauszeiger" DEAKTIVIERT ist.

Innerhalb des Spieles sollte man im Zoo von Elysium sein (macht sonst wenig Sinn). Auch muss (wenn nicht bereits geschehen), die Box in der man die Datasetten einlegt, geöffnet sein.

Zuletzt bitte sicher gehen, dass nur "Ulysses Helm" und die drei Datasetten im Inventar zu finden sind (siehe Screenshot).


Wenn die "playback.ahk" gestartet wird, werdet ihr den Wilkommensbildschirm des modifizierten Maus Recorders sehen.


Bitte merkt euch die Tastenkombination Strg+Shift+S, da mit diesem jederzeit der Playback abgebrochen werden kann, wenn etwas falsch läuft.

Nun ab nach Deponia und im Zoo das Playback mit Strg+Shift+P starten. Am Anfang wird es einen 5s Countdown geben, nachdem dann das eigentliche Playback startet.
Anmerkung: Falls der Countdown gehört wird, aber danach passiert nichts, starte bitte das Script erneut mit Administrator rechten

Das gesamte Playback dauert ca 1 bis 1:15 Stunde. Also zurücklehnen und zuschauen :)

Quick and clean

Taken over from the comments from Murlakatemenka because the guide itself is a bit long and not getting directly to the point.

Worked on the latest version of the game (as of the moment of writing this - Update – Version 1.2.0267 – October 26th, 2017).

For people looking forward to the achievement and want just a step by step guide on how to get it.

1. Prerequisites
   
   1. Deponia Doomsday
      
      1. 16:9 desktop resolution (e.g. 1920x1080)
         
      2. Before setting to fullscreen, set the ingame resolution to the same 16:9 as in windows (thx to GeniusVenator)
         
      3. FULLSCREEN mode
         
      4. uncheck "lock mouse" option
         
      5. Inventory opening by mouse scrolling (you never mention it in your guide)
         No special inventory setting needed since the "I" hotkey is used.
         
      6. Savegame with Rufus
         
         • having only "Ulysses helmet" + 3 cartridges in the inventory
           
         • being in the zoo of Elysium
           
         • has opened the box where you insert the datasettes

   1. Run Deponia Doomsday
      
   2. Go to the "Elysium zoo" location
      
   3. Launch downloaded script in AHK with administrator privileges (you can try without them but don't get surprised if it doesn't work)
      
   4. Switch back to the game
      
   5. Start the script via Ctrl+Shift+P key combination (Remember Ctrl+Shift+S to stop the script when something is going wrong)
      
   6. You will hear 5 beeps within 5 seconds and then the script will start the its clicking job
      
   7. It'll take 1+ hour to finish (took ~1 hour on my machine, ~1h 15 min on LvlLord's one)
      
   8. Congratulations, you got the achievement "1001 Jackalopes"!

After 2 days of searching and experimenting on my computer because nothing worked, I managed to get the script to work. You absolutely must install the software in an "AutoHotkey" folder in the Programmes files folder. If the software isn't in a folder in this directory or isn't registered here, it won't work. You also need to tick the last option when you install the software (I can't remember the name of the option but it's an option that allows you to open the software and files as an administrator). Once all this is done, run AutoHotkey as administrator as recommended in the guide and launch the file.
I installed the software several times in several places (I have several hard disks), and despite a lot of manipulations nothing worked, until I realised that the location of the software was important for it to work.

Hello, i have the same problem than @CountBubbleRat, i can't get the download script to run, when i click on the playback it won't run, and when I doubleclick "playback AutoHotkey Script" it says it can't find the playback smr file too.
Doubleclicking the SMR file gives me an "Error at line 1" and says "Error: continuation section too long".
The playback.smr is located in the same directory, and i extracted the file. I don't understand why this is not working :<


If anyone has a solution, I'd be grateful. I'm passionate about completing successes and I can't see myself not completing this one!
