Achievements for completing games

Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns

PRICE CHOPPER - Survive the Dead Center campaign.

TORCH BEARER - Survive The Passing Campaign.

MIDNIGHT RIDER - Survive the Dark Carnival campaign.

WEATHERMAN - Survive the Hard Rain campaign.

BRIDGE BURNER - Survive the Parish campaign.

RAGIN' CAJUN - Survive the Swamp Fever campaign.

STREAM CROSSER - Survive the Cold Stream campaign on any difficulity.

Left 4 Dead campaigns

SUPREME SACRIFICE - Complete "The Sacrifice".

Versus

CONNECTING FIGHTS - Play a Versus game on Dead Air from start to finish.

• All you have to do is to be in the game from start to finish. You have to be in a lobby first (if playing with friends online). Quitting or joining when the game already started will not count.

Achievements that are really easy

ACID REFLEX - Kill a Spitter before she is able to spit.
Just kill it. Spitter is easy to spot by their acid green glow around their body. If you are stuck, ask someone to play versus with you and let them spawn as spitter and kill them.

A RIDE DENIED - Kill a Jockey within 2 seconds of it jumping on a Survivor.
As soon as someone is attacked by jockey you need to kill him immediately

ARMORY OF ONE - Deploy an ammo upgrade and have your team use it.
When you see a yellow box of incendiary/fire ammo or frag/explosives ammo you can pick it up and then deploy it (left mouse by default). Your teammates don't have to use it to get this achievement.

CRASS MENAGERIE - Kill one of each Uncommon Infected.
Not to be confused with special infected. Uncommon Infected are:
-Mudman, found mostly in Swamp Fever and Cold Stream campaign. They are the crawling zombies.
-Clowns, found in Dark Carnival campaign. They look like clowns...
-CEDA, found almost in any campaign. They wear large green/yellow suit
-Police, found mostly in The Parish campaign. They wear helmets and kevlars to protect themselves
-Worker, found almost in any campaign. They look like workers and wear yellow helmets
-Survivors, found mostly in The Passing campaign. They always carry a health kit or throwables if you kill them.

SEPTIC TANK - Use a bile bomb on a Tank.
Just throw a boomer bile on a tank.

KILLING THEM SWIFTLY TO THIS SONG - Play the new Midnight Riders song on a jukebox.
In The Passing campaign as soon as you get to the billiard/pool room (The Underground, second saferoom) you can find a jukebox. Turn it in and everybody will get this achievement (despite the fact that they did nothing).

KILL BILL - Have Bill sacrifice himself for the team.
In The Sacrfice campaign have Bill to sacrifice himself when you need to restart the generator. It dosn't matter who is controlling Bill what matters is he is the one restarting the generator.

GONG SHOW - Prove you are stronger than Moustachio.
In Dark Carnival (The Barns, 4th saferoom) you must have adrenaline shot and a melee weapon. When approaching Strong man game take your adrenaline shot and hit the red box with your melee weapon.

Achievements that are little tricky

CHAIN OF COMMAND - Kill 100 Common Infected with the chainsaw.
All you have to do is to find a chainsaw (they should spawn in most maps) and start killing zombies.

HEAD HONCHO - Decapitate 200 Infected with a melee weapon.
Basically you need to make a headshot with a melee weapon. Aiming near the neck or above it and it should work. It is easy with a gold club, katana or fire axe

BURNING SENSATION - Ignite 50 Common Infected with incendiary ammo.
When having fire ammo in your gun shoot 50 zombies with it. You don't have to kill it just set it on fire. If you are struggling with it you can try on M60 gun where you will have 150 bullets of fire.

GREAT EXPECTORATIONS - As the Spitter, hit every Survivor with a single acid patch.
This can be done in versus game mode. Spawn as a spitter and when all survivors are close to each other spit on them. You must hit all 4 of them but not necessary kill them.

QUALIFIED RIDE - As the Jockey, ride the Survivors twice in a single life.
This also needs tp be done in versus game mode. When riding a survivor try to drive them behind the walls or away so that other survivors can not reach you or kill you.

CLUB DEAD - Use every melee weapon to kill Common Infected.
All melee weapons: Katana/ Ninja sword, Machete, Fire Axe, Police baton/ Nightstick/ Tonfa, Frying pan, Gold club, Baseball bat, Paddle bat/ Cricket bat. Crowbar

BACK IN THE SADDLE - As the Jockey, ride the Survivors twice in a single life.
In versus if you are knocked away from the survivors try to ride at them again. This should not take much problem. They must not kill you first.

MEAT TENDERIZER - As the Charger, grab a Survivor and smash them into the ground for a solid 15 seconds.
In versus try to charge survivors that are too far from others. Try many times and you will get it.

RODE HARD, PUT AWAY WET - As the Jockey, ride a Survivor and steer them into a Spitter's acid patch.
Do what the description said. In versus. Spawn in as a jockey and drive to a spitter's acid.

FRIED PIPER - Using a Molotov, burn a Clown leading at least 10 Common Infected.
Start campaign on Dark Carnival where most clowns are spawning and throw a molotov into a clown when there is a horde. Useful when you are actiivating a gate because that's when horde is spawning.

A SPITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS - As the Spitter, spit on a Survivor being choked by a Smoker.
Similar to the Rode hard, put away wet achievement. You need to spit on the survivor that is being pulled by a smoker. They must be 'smoked' first in order to get this achievement.

STACHE WHACKER - Prove you are faster than Moustachio.
In Dark Carnival (The Barns, 4th saferoom) you will see along your way is a small minigame. All you have to do is hit all the popping 'moustachio' and get 42 points (hit them 42 times). You can do this with any weapons. When the timer runs out you have an option to continue. Keep doing this until you get to 42 points

BARREL ROLLED - Kill a Special Infected with an exploding barrel.
Start the mutation: "Last man on earth". In this mutation you will be alone. There will no common infected and only special infected, witch and tank. Start The Sacrifice campaign (from the beginning) and keep going until you see an alley with a white barrel. Wait till a special infected comes close and shoot it. If it doesn't die immediately then the fire will kill it and gives you the achievement.

SHOCK JOCK - Revive 10 dead Survivors with the defibrillator.
When someone is dead use the defib on them. Keep doing it 10 times.

THE QUICK AND THE DEAD - Revive 10 incapacitated Survivors while under the speed-boosting effects of adrenaline.
Just use adrenaline before reviving someone. The effect last quite long so you can revive 2 or even 3 teammates.

MUTANT OVERLORD - Play 6 Mutations.
Check the game to see which mutation will count. Start a mutation and try to suicide or die as soon as possible. You should get it quick.

DEAD IN THE WATER - Kill 10 swampy Mudmen while they are in the water.
Kill them. Start Swamp Fever campaign and look for crawling like zombies.

Achievements that are harder

LONG DISTANCE CARRIER - As the Charger, grab a Survivor and carry them over 80 feet.
You can charge survivors in The Whispering oak roller coaster in Dark Carnival campaign. Find a hidden spot in the way and charge straight at them

CL0WND - Honk the noses of 10 Clowns.
Melee bash the clown to honk its nose (default is right mouse). You can hear a honk sound after that. You can not honk a clown twice though.

ROBBED ZOMBIE - Collect 10 vials of Boomer vomit from infected CEDA agents you have killed.
Kill CEDA agents (they wear large yellow or green suit) and collect the bile bomb that is dropped on the ground.

GRAVE ROBBER - Collect 10 items dropped by a Fallen Survivor.
Similar to Robbed zombie achievement. This time you need to kill survivors. They are harder to kill since when you spot them they will run away. Keep looking for them or they will go out of sight. You don't have to kill them since the achievement only requires you to collect items: medkit, pills, adrenaline shot, molotov or pipe bomb.

KITE LIKE A MAN - Kill a Tank only with damage from the original Survivors.
Have your friends join you and tell them to do nothing when tank comes. If you are playing alone kill all the bots first (you can only kill them if your difficulty is set to normal or higher. No friendly fire if it is Easy mode).

CACHE GRAB - Open 5 foot lockers.
Open 5 foot lockers. They are painted in dark green color and can contain unlimited supply of: pipe bombs, molotovs, pills or shots. Best place to find it is in The Passing campaign.

VIOLENCE IN SILENCE - Navigate the impound lot and reach the cemetery safe room without tripping any alarms.
Here's a random racist fact: white is better. Not exactly random because you need to walk in the white cars since all other cars will trigger alarms even by walking on it.

FORE! - Knock off the heads of 18 infected with the golf club.
Similar to Head Honcho achievement. Find a golf club (which is quite rare weapon) and knock their heads off.

SCATTERING RAM - As the Charger, bowl through the entire enemy team in a single charge.
Wait till all survivors line up in a straight line or are close to each other and charge them.

LEVEL A CHARGE - Kill a Charger with a melee weapon while they are charging.
Have some of your friends do some damage to the charger before it is charged. Stay from a far distance to let yourself have time to react when the charger comes. It is not necessary to be charging at you.

GUARDIN' GNOME - Rescue Gnome Chompski from the Carnival.
In Dark Carnival campaign (The Fairground, second saferoom) have your teammates start the shooting game and shoot at the targets. On the right side there is a table showing what you need to shoot and what you should not. You must get 750 points before time runs out and notice that as soon as you start horde will come. Have 1 player guarding you or throw a pipe bomb/ boomer bile. Then deliver it to the last chopper and everybody in your team will get it.

WING AND A PRAYER - Defend yourself at the crashed airliner without taking damage.
Start off with Swamp Fever campaign (The Swamp, second saferoom) and defend at the airplane. You must survive as soon as you open the door. Use pipe bombs and gas cans. Try defend yourself from a high position and don't stand in one place. Keep moving back and forth and avoid zombies, melee bashing them

BEAT THE RUSH - In a Survival round, get a medal only using melee weapons.
It appears that you can not get this achievement if you have already got the medal before. You must find a new survival map where you haven't earned a medal before. Easiest map is Dead Center. Just make laps (common lap in Dead Center is: first go to the third floor then break the glasses and drop down to the second floor. Continue going till you are behind the banner and drop down to the car because dropping down anywhere else will take huge health out of you. Go to the third floor and repeat).

SOB STORY - Navigate the sugar mill and reach the safe room without killing any Witches.
In the Hard Rain campaign (second saferoom, The Sugar Mill) just go and do not attempt to go close. Bad luck if you have bots. If you still somehow shoot her then just let her escape (even though she will let go of the survivors once they are dead or she is dead)

CHAOS GENERATOR - Have all 3 generators running at once in "The Sacrifice" finale.
Must have at least 3 human players. Start the generator at the same time. If you have trouble try playing it on Easy. You can fail this map but as soon as you start all of it you or your friend should get it.

DISMEMBERMENT PLAN - Kill 15 Infected with a single grenade launcher blast.
Wait for a VERY BIG horde and kill them. Usually when you started something (elevator, door...)

Achievements for the pros

STILL SOMETHING TO PROVE- Survive all campaigns on Expert.
If you really struggling get this achievement try to play mutation. My personal favorite is Gib Fest. In Gib Fest you are armed with M60 with unlimited ammo, no reload. Your secondary weapon is Desert Eagle (still have to reload). You must be in the rescue vehicle or the achievement will not count.

THE REAL DEAL - Survive a campaign on Expert skill with Realism mode enabled.
Only 1 campaign. Expert and Realism at the same time. Dead Center is not too hard. With practice you can beat it.

WEDDING CRASHER - As the Charger, grab a Survivor and crash them through 8 chairs at the wedding.
At the end, near the saferoom there should be a wedding where the witch always sits there. Spawn in as a charger and wait till the survivor gets close to the chairs. You must charge straight through all the chairs, Preferably the left side because it has 3 rows of chairs. Struggling? Have someone join and tell them to stand where the chairs are.

SACRIFIZZLE - As a Special Infected, incap someone who is trying to sacrifice themselves.
This must be done in The Sacrifice campaign. At the last level you get to spawn as a tank. If not you can try spawn as any infected. Try to find a good place to hide and incap them.

HEARTWARMER - In a Versus round, leave the saferoom to defibrillate a dead teammate.
Your friend must be dead first. Then close the saferoom door and open it and go back defib them. Better have at least 1 friend so that the bot doesn't come with you to the saferoom and accidentally start the loading screen and leave them behind.

CONFEDERACY OF CRUNCHES - Finish a campaign using only melee weapons.
In Death Center or The Passing you are given a melee weapon at the start of the game. No shooting even if you miss the target. Throwables are usable.

Achievements that look hard but not

BRIDGE OVER TREBLED SLAUGHTER - Cross the bridge finale in less than three minutes.
Start "Last man on earth" mutation. It is surprisingly easy if you begin The Parish, Bridge campaign. Avoid the tank at any cost. Don't worry of the special infected. Out of all time I play I never have contact with them. Just don't stop.

TIL IT GOES CLICK - Using the M60, kill 25 infected without letting go of the trigger.
Start the Gib Fest mutation. Shoot your M60 without letting go of the mouse. You don't even have to worry about anything.

TANK BURGER - Kill a Tank with melee weapons.
Start Chainsaw Massacre mutation. This way all of the survivors will have a chainsaw. On easy should take less than a minute.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS - Form a team and beat an enemy team in 4v4 Versus or Scavenge.
Team versus is when you and 3 other friends search for another team. Very similar to CS:GO matchmaking. Except nobody uses that.
There is a small trick that allowing you to play Scavenge or Versus with bots. Bots will do absolutely nothing (except defending themselves like they usually do but they won't collect gas cans)

2. Start single player and choose scavenge (because it is shorter than versus)

SCAVENGE HUNT - Stop the enemy team from collecting any gas cans during a Scavenge round.
Your enemy is not trying at all. Or you are following my above tutorial on how to get bots play Scavenge with you. I feel sorry for you that you accidentally found a Scavenge match and you try yourself so good that your enemy indeed couldn't get any gas cans at all...

Achievements for least played game mode

FUEL CRISIS - Make a Survivor drop a gas can during overtime.
Unfortunately not many people play Scavenge. You can get this by playing with a friend. Have them pick up a gas can when time is up and attack them as special infected. Making them incapacitate also count since they drop gas can.

CACHE AND CARRY - Collect 15 gas cans in a single Scavenge round.
There are a lot of maps where you can collect more than 15 gas cans. For example The Brick Factory has 25 gas cans. With teamwork you can easily get this achievement.

GAS GUZZLER - Collect 100 gas cans in Scavenge.
Find a friend! Come on! Have them collect cans for you but you will be the one refilling them. It is better if your team starts so that you can collect as much gas as possible.

GAS SHORTAGE - Cause 25 gas can drops as a Special Infected.
Incapping them also works but it is faster if you are jockey, charger, smoker or hunter. Boomer and spitter won't make your can drop.

PORT OF SCAVENGE - Play 5 full games of Scavenge on The Port.
Poor people without friends. You can also do this with bots.

HUNTING PARTY - Win a game of Scavenge.
Find a friend or play with bots.

Achievements which are holiday related

GOOD GUY NICK - Plays games with free weekend players and helps them survive a campaign.
People used to get this in the past. You have to keep informed when the game is free in the weekend and play with it. The last free weekend is in 2013.

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT - Spread cheer by helping a free holiday player survive a campaign.
Play with someone who already have this game on Christmas promotion. Ask them on forums to see who has it.

Valve Gift Grab 2011 – L4D2 - Collect three gifts dropped by Special Infected in Versus Mode.
During Christmas anytime you play versus special infected will drop a gift. This happens every year so you don't have to worry but if you are impatient refer to my guide on how to play versus with bots (should be somewhere there) and change the date.

Good Guy Nick is quit tricky, but what i did is just join a random server in campaign and chances are 1 of them play it in free weekend id give it a 40% chance of success
