How to read a guide

This guide will show you the "ins" and "outs" of reading guides, and how to best read a guide.

Step 1: Getting started

To get started, you need to read the title of the guide. It usually help if you look at the image of the guide, but this does not alway help.

Step 2: Opening the guide

Once you have read the title and seen the image of the guide, it is time to open it. To do this, either click on the title of the guide or the image.

Step 3: Assesing contents

Once you have opened the guide it is time to asses the contents. Quickly note the size of the scroll bar on the right hand side of the Steam window. If it is really small, check for any images by scanning the page as you quickly scroll down the page. If there are many images, there may not be as much text as thought before. But if there are few images and you do not wish to read a lot of content, it is best to scroll to the comments section at the bottom and try to find a TL;DR post.

Step 4: Reading

Use your eyes to read the selected content (if you have them). If the guide did not inform you on what you wished to find out, leave a helpful comment of constructive criticism to help the creator know how to improve their guide. If you found the guide satasfactory, make sure to leave a positive comment on the guide and show your enjoyment it in as many ways as possible such as liking the guide.

Step 5: Closing

Look down at your keyboard or other text input device and hold down ALT and F4 in that order. This will close the guide and allow you to continue with your day/night.

Read it and leave feedback
Hold ALT and F4 to close
