Telling about what to do next if you are stuck...

Starting out.

First, you need to collect resorces like wood to build a house, torches, etc. You should build a house first which requires a door, torches, a chair, and a table/crafting bench. Also take advantage of the slimes so you can make torches. After making your base house, you should get to know your surroundings so go ahead and explore a little bit. Next, You need to get as much ore as you can so you can upgrade your tools, armor, and weapons. If you've found a cave or tunnel, go for it. Explore as deep as you can and try to just collect ore (like copper, tungsten, lead). You should keep mining and upgrading until you have plenty of ore to make armor and other tools. If you find you can't mine certain ores like Ebonstone, (found in the Corruption) you should try to make better armor and tools for an early boss you'll encounter later on. You should also make more rooms in your house for NPC's to move in.

Now what?

You might be unsure what to do next because you cant mine any deeper without being killed or just cant get through the material. if you have run into any glowing hearts you should mine these and eat these. These are Crystal hearts, they permenently increase your maximum health. To get passed this "stuck" stage in the game, you need to deafeat your first boss, The Eye of Cthulhu! For The Eye of Cthulhu to spawn, it needs to be night. You need to defeat enough Demon Eyes to give you enough lens for you to craft A Suspicous Looking Eye (the spawner). It may also spawn on its own if you have 200+ health.

The Eye of Cthulhu...

To get a better Pickaxe you need to defeat The Eye of Cthulhu. You want to have at least lead armor, a tungsten Broadsword, shurikens, potions, and a bow with lots of (flaming) arrows! You also want to make sure you create an arena so no other mobs like zombies can attack you, and so you dont fall. Also, make sure you move around alot to dodge its attacks.
There are attack phases of The Eye of Cthulhu. 1) A much bigger looking Demon eye that can run into you and damage you that way and it can spawn little "servants" that can attack you as well. 2) Once you get it down to a low enough health, it sheads off its iris and pupiland reveals a mouth full of sharp teeth. At this point, it has no defense, but has stronger attacks.
Once you defeat it, it will drop all sorts of helpfull items and ores!

This guide seems really helpful, though i'd like to know what to do when you are beating all of the mech bosses( What items? )
