Blackwell Deception - Quick Walkthrough

A text based walkthrough of Wadjet Eye Games "Blackwell Deception ". This is the fourth game in a five game series. The game is not overly difficult and I feel that pictures or even videos are unnecessary for this walkthrough. This guide clearly highlights the steps needed to complete the game and can also be used as a quick reference guide if you find yourself stuck at any point in the game. It should be noted that this is one solution and not any form of 'optimal' solution. I have tried to be as clear as possible, do not hesitate to ask if any of the instructions are unclear or if you face any problems in game!

Introduction

Street psychics. Their blinking neon signs are everywhere, promising love and wealth and happiness. They make a fortune preying on the gullible and milking them dry. So when these victims begin dying and leaving confused spirits behind, it can only take a genuine psychic (and her wayward spirit guide) to clean up the mess.

From seedy downtown nightclubs to penthouse apartments to a luxury yacht on the Hudson River, Rosa and Joey will unearth the truth about the underground world of street psychics. Including some secrets that Joey would rather be left buried.[Wadget Eye Games]

Ryan & June

Rosa

- Enter the door at the bottom left and use the lightswitch located close to the entrance

Joey

- Investigate the inscription on the side of the boat and receive the notes "Ryan" and "June"
- Head through the top door and speak with Ryan
- Enter the control room
- Use the wind power located in Joey's inventory on the keys
- Use the wind power on the keys a second time

Rosa

- Go through the downstairs door
- Use the dime from the inventory on the vent located above the bed
- Click on the vent and your arm will appear in the upper compartment
- Pick up the key
- Go back outside and up the ladder
- Use the key on the upper door and speak with the ghost
- Look at the diagram on the well and memorise the position of the letters J, U, N and E
- Return downstairs and click on the knotty pine at the end of the room
- Using the knots, click on the positions of the letters previously memorised from the diagram
- Right click on the money that appears in the newly discovered comparment
- Access your phone and combine the notes "bank" and "GTC"
- Use the Oogle app on the phone to search for Grant City Trust
- Return to the bridge upstairs and speak with Ryan, make sure to mention the Back Robbery
- Talk to him about Boston until the conversation ends

Joey

- Click on the GPS and it will begin to give out locations

Rosa

- Speak to Ryan about Boston again until the GPS says you are located outside of Boston
- Follow Ryan outside and speak to him again

Joey

- Return to the bridge and use your tie from your inventory on Ryan

Rosa

- Speak with Ryan in the afterlife
- Exit the bridge and use the gap at the rear of the boat

Jeremy Sams

Rosa

- Exit through the door on the right and travel to Jeremy
- Exhaust all dialogue options
- Take a look around the apartment and make sure to check out the pile of photographs
- Exit and travel to the City Post
- Speak with the receptionist

Joey

- Pass through the door on the upstairs landing
- Check the post-it note on the computer located on Jeremy's desk
- Return to Rosa

Rosa

- Travel to High Line Park
- Speak with the detective and exhaust all dialogue options
- Return to Jeremy and ask to take the photograph
- Return to the detective in the park and give him the photograph
- Head back to the City Post and talk to the receptionist
- Go upstairs using the elevator
- Head to Jeremy's desk and take the notebook (look at all entries)
- Take the press pass located on the far left of the screen next to the window
- Return to Jeremy and talk to him about the journal
- Talk to Jeremy about Penelope Haines
- Travel to the Haines residence and exhaust all dialogue options with Madison
- Leave and send Joey back in when asked

Joey

- Enter the bedroom and read the brochure on the bedside table before leaving

Rosa

- Travel to Seagram Assisted Living and speak with the receptionist
- Use the elevator to access the second floor
- Pick up the ball of yarn from the table
- Exhaust all dialogue with Penelope before leaving
- Return to the Haines residence and exhaust all dialogue options with Madison
- Head back to Seagram Assisted Living and once again exhaust all dialogue with Penelope
- Go downstairs

Joey

- Look at the chart located on the desk near the nurse

Rosa

- Take a brochure from the stand near the elevator
- Take the elevator to floor twelve
- Put the yarn on the brochure in your inventory
- Use this on the door and it will slide underneath

Joey

- Click on the door and you will enter the room
- Blow on the brochure on the floor
- Blow on the key hanging on the back of the chair so it falls on the brochure

Rosa

- Click on the brochure and you will receive the key
- Return to the Haines residence and use the key on the door
- Enter the bedroom and take the peridot
- Try to leave

Joey

- Head through to the livingroom and blow on the thermostat to make Madison open a door
- Talk to the baby so it follows you around
- Leave through the open door so the baby and mother follow you

Rosa

- Leave while the mother is distracted and head back to Seagram Assisted Living
- Give the peridot to Penelope
- Ask Penelope about Gavin
- Leave and visit Lisa Tensing
- Press the buzzer and exhaust all dialogue with Lisa (make sure to mention Jeremy in your notes)
- Go outside and use your phone to call Jeremy's number
- Pick up the phone from the trash can
- Confront Lisa about Jeremy
- Go to Jeremy's apartment and give him his phone
- Go to High Line Park and speak with Jeremy again

Joey

- Use your tie on Jeremy

Tiffany Walters

Rosa

- Go to Lisa's apartment and she will not come to the door

Joey

- Enter the apartment
- Go through the door on the right
- Look at the photograph on the table before returning to Rosa

Rosa

- Head back to Seagram and talk to the nurse at the desk about Danny Marconi
- Return to Lisa and talk to her about Danny
- Talk about how you knew Danny and then ask Joey for help
- His first hint fails, but he eventually give you enough information to convince Lisa
- Exhaust all dialogue options with Lisa and she will give you two names
- Leave and head for Tiffany's apartment first
- Examine the buzzers to find out her apartment is on the ground floor
- Attempt to check her mailbox

Joey

- Crawl inside Tiffany's mailbox

Rosa

- Use your business card in the mailbox

Joey

- Enter the mailbox again and see the return address on the letter
- Enter Tiffany's apartment
- Talk to Tiffany
- Look at the photograph on the shelf and check the papers on the table
- Use all of your notes and talk to Tiffany about everything
- Head back through the door to Rosa

Rosa

- Use the Oogle app on the phone to search for Rachel Abu
- Look at the notes on the notice board
- Leave and head for the Cup of Clay cafe
- Talk to the barista about Tiffany and exhaust all dialogue options using your notes
- Access your notes and combine "STP" with "Temp Agency"
- Travel to Sterling Temp Placement and speak with the agent
- Return to Tiffany's

Joey

- Speak with Tiffany about Ken and Sterling

Rosa

- Return to Sterling and speak about Tiffany's contract. Exhaust all dialogue
- Show the agent the press pass from Jeremy's office
- Speak with the agent and blackmail him
- Use Oogle to search for Ken Sharpe
- Leave and head for Sharpe Sounds
- Before entering, inspect the note on the door to the right
- Head through the door on the left to enter Sharpe Sounds
- Speak to Ken about Tiffany and Sterling, exhaust all dialogue options
- Head back to the corridor

Joey

- Head through the door to Sharpe Sounds
- Look at the photographs on the wall and check the drawers under the desk
- Return to Rosa

Rosa

- Read the plaque beside Becca's office door
- Use Oogle to search for Gal Friday Publishing
- Call Gal Friday
- Switch to Joey as the phone is ringing

Joey

- Return to the drawer in the office and read the letter
- Return to Rosa

Rosa

- Hang up and confront Ken in Sharpe Sounds
- Exhaust all dialogue and make sure Ken mentions Turtledove before leaving
- Head for Tiffany's

Joey

- Talk to Tiffany about Ken and mention Turtledove

Rosa

- Return to Ken at Sharpe Sounds
- Have Ken confirm that the relationship between him and Tiffany is finished
- Talk to Tiffany in the hallway and once again use Joey's tie to send her on her way
- Return to Lisa's apartment and speak to her about Tiffany and Gavin

Jamie Graham

Rosa

- Travel to Jamie's dorm

Joey

- Go through the door and read the note on the inside of the door that says "Remember Waterloo"

Rosa

- Use Oogle to search for Waterloo
- Use the date 1815 on the keypad to enter the room
- Search the room and make sure you inspect the poster of the band on the wall
- Check out the laptop on the desk and the class schedule on the whiteboard
- Oogle Elaine Appleton and call her, exhausting all dialogue
- Call Durkin and agree to meet him at the cafe
- Head for the Cup of Clay cafe and speak with Durkin about Jamie
- Leave and and check the coroner's report that Durkin will send on the your phone
- Oogle Munrays and travel to this new location

Joey

- Go upstairs and access the VIP lounge
- Speak with Jamie and make sure you find out that she doesn't like the music

Rosa

- Return to Jamie's dorm and use her dog name benji as the computer password (lower case)
- Check all emails
- Return to Munray's and speak with the blonde man at the bar, exhaust all dialogue options and include your notes in the dialogue
- Enter your notes and combine "Drugs" with "Coroner's Report"
- Talk to Seb at the bar again
- Oogle Ashbless to find out about a book called Anubis at the Gate
- Use the plasma panel to the left of the stairs and change the music to Epileptic Fish

Joey

- Head upstairs once again and exhaust every bit of dialogue with Jamie
- Talk about Middle Eastern history
- Talk about her home town of Mattoon out West in Illinois
- Talk about books and mention Ashbless and Anubis at the Gate
- Follow Jamie

Rosa

- Return to Jamie's dorm and have Joey enter and talk to her
- Return to Lisa's apartment and play out the scene

Gavin & Lisa

Joey

- Go through the door
- Head downstairs and click on Gavin to listen in on the conversation

Rosa

- Click on the door and speak with Lisa, tell her that Gavin is planning on killing her

Joey

- Blow the glass on the shelf so it falls and shatters
- Give your tie to Rosa and pull her to the right TWICE and to the back wall ONCE

Rosa

- Click on a piece of broken glass
- Use the glass from the inventory to free yourself
- Leave the room and speak with Gavin

Joey

- Head downstairs and blow on the photo on the table until it moves under the door
- Go into the next rooma nd speak with Lisa abotu the photograph
- Head back into the livingroom
- Move right and speak with Madeline and give her your tie
- Back in the livingroom, speak with Lisa until she leaves
- Immediately speak with Rosa and get her to break her link with Gavin
- Mention Jeremy alongside "yeah, good riddance"
- Mention Jamie alongside "you're nobody"
- Mention Penelope alongside "not a damn thing"
- Mention Tiffany alongside "you are no better"
- Wait for Lisa to strangle Gavin and place your tie on both of them
