Gameplay Basics

The aim of the game is to get the highest score. To get points, you must defeat, turn by turn, antagonists in the form of Internet "Trolls".

To do this, you must carefully select the appropriate move, and watch the Troll's reply (and hope it doesn't involve any summoning).

There are several factors a player must look out for:

-The Sanity Bar
Trolls comments and attacks, as well as answering riddles from the Social Justice Druid, can make you lose sanity. Depending on some attacks you do -such as an attack used by the SJM- you can even make yourself lose sanity. The Sanity Bar is the blue bar to the left of the yellow bar, both of which are seen next to you and the Troll.

Trolls also have Sanity; and, this is important, not all Trolls are created equaly. Some (like the Popular Troll) have a much smaller Sanity level compared to their Reputation level.

-The Reputation Bar
Similar to the Sanity bar, and is affected by pretty much the same thing. The Intellectual Troll has a much lower Reputation Bar compared to its Sanity Bar. All but 1 of the Social Justice Rogue's attacks involve the loss of Reputation.

These particular factors are particularly important to watch out for.

Levels
In this game, levels are only indicators of a Trolls power and how far you have progressed.

Losing
Frequently, your actions are undone or negated or have no effect. And more frequently, the Troll scores a hit against you. Such hits make you lose Sanity and or Reputation. When your Reputation or Sanity falls to nothing, you lose. You are then taken back to the menu. If you defeated enough Trolls, your character may gain access to the Hall Of Champions.
Classes

Before we start (or rather, continue), here is a choice morsel of information: all classes have, in total, six actions, two of which are unlockable by raising either Sanity or Reputation high enough.

Here are the Character Classes:

The Social Justice Paladin

By far the easiest class, the SJP has the advantage of being able to block all Sanity attacks and even gives a small bonus to both Sanity and Reputation (although reputation can be decreased by the Troll).

The Social Justice Cleric

Slightly more difficult. The defensive action only gives you +4 Sanity & Reputation, which can be lost to an attack from a Troll.

The Social Justice Mage

Easier. Its actions are mostly based on Sanity, making it a fearsome opponent to the aformentioned Popular Troll.

The Social Justice Rogue

Really, really hard (compared to the other three classes). All three of your actions make you lose Reputation (the first one makes you lose even your sanity). Even the fourth one, "Retreat into the shadows of the internet", doesn't really protect you. Still, backstabbing is fun!

Social Justice Champion
One of the ways to defeat Trolls is to not defeat them, but to convert them into better beings. This done by becoming a Social Justice Champion. To do so, one must elevate either your Sanity Bar or Reputation Bar to the maximum. This is most easily achieved with Social Justice Paladin's Parry.
Postnote: despite, at time of writing, having played more than 8 hours of SJW, I still haven't managed to coax a SJC out of any other class than the one mentioned here.
A Few Things, Tips and Tricks
Here a few things that may benefit you:
-The Social Justice Paladin and the Social Justice Mage are the two both easiest classes.
-Repeatedly spamming Parry should (most of the time) allow you to reach the class Social Justice Champion.
-The Social Justice Rogue is in general stronger against opponents with low amounts of Reputation.
-With Mage it is the opposite.
-The music changes depending on the level you have and that of the class and level of the Troll you are facing.
-The Social Justice Mage doesn't have any attack blocking function.
-You can gain Favour with the Social Justice Necromancer by essentially deploying actions that destroy your reputation along with that of the Troll's.*
-Don't ever answer the Social Justice Druid's Riddles without thinking about the consequences. I've lost too many rounds to that trap.

*Could be wrong about that one.
Post Scriptum
Thanks for reading this guide. I hope it may serve of some actual use, and that you enjoy your time playing SJW. Good day,

Post Scriptum
I may one day make an achievement list section, and how to get them...
But tbh, I haven't got them all yet.

Post Post Scriptum

I apologize for the numerous potential spoilers. And annoyance upon inaccuracies. Also for potential lack of crucial information.

Post Post Post Scriptum
I will probably add more sections in the future.

The classes do seem rather unbalanced relative to one another, don't they? Perhaps if the rogue had a higher chance for enemy attacks to miss, or something, for instance. Anyway, keep fighting the good fight! (When you feel like it.) :SJW:

Actual, this may be slightly out-of-date. Darn.
