Ah, no need to rename. I was just wondering if you had another version planned. :)

Thanks, you're right. I will rename and redo this chaturaji later. Now I found "space chess". A very interesting variant: the author has added 2 Fish (goes to 3 cells on the diagonal and ortogonal + jump over figures like a knight), 2 Birds (the Queen from chaturanji who can fly), 2 dragons (knight + bishop), + 6 pawns (so we have 14 pawns) and the third row of figures - dogs (walk like a pawn, attacked on one front, right or left, the first move can take 1, 2 or 3 cells). It's plaing on 144-cells board. Another interesting variants is russian four-handed fortress chess and four-handed chess (non-fortress).

What I mean is - there are two games - Chaturaji and Chaturanga. Chaturanga is a 2-player game that is the first normal chess game, with 64X64 board and two "armies" consisting of 6 types of units opposing each other.

Chaturaji is a 4 player game that uses dice, and it also emerged around the same time as Chaturanga. In some texts it is also called Chaturanga but the real name is Chaturaji.

They are often confused with each other.

My question was, do you have any plans to build a "normal" style of Chaturanga some day, i.e. the 2 player Chess-type version? And don't worry, your English is fine and it is not my first language either. :steamhappy:

According to the authors of the articles from where I took the rules of this game, next time ancient chess players was joined 2 "Union army" in 1 and placed them opposite each other. One of the king conquered another, and renamed "vizier". Over time, Chaturanga was transformed into normal chess. What do you mean by "standard variant Chaturanga"? PS: Sorry for my English :steamhappy:

Can you make the standard variant of Chaturanga, i.e. one that is like normal chess?
