Tactical Craft Online Guide - Everything a Beginner needs to Know
By ASwarmOfKittenz
This guide will help you learn about most of the basics of the game for starters. Once you understand how the game works, it'll be easier to figure out the game and it'll all start to piece together. Making the game playable and ultimately more enjoyable.

Understanding the Map and it's Biomes
Newly spawning into the game:

The red circle on the left shows where you most likely spawn as a newcomer. The red circle on the right is where the map tab icon is, at which you can view the map window by clicking on it.

  • Green areas are plains and forests. Don't think that every green area has a forest. You have to explore to find what you're looking for.

  • Yellow areas are mainly deserts. Some are deserts that consist of many stone (Not to be confused with sand pillars.). Some consist of many desert trees, which look like dead trees. Few deserts have a mixture of both. Again, if you're looking for any of these but can't find them. You'll have to keep traveling.

  • Grey areas are mountains and caves. Which mostly give you not stone, but granite. Granite isn't really used in any useful crafting recipes. But the mountains and caves do give ores, at which you'd need a pickaxe to mine.

Below, I'll now have some screen shots of each biome:

Here's a forest biome which you'll need to find for trees. They may be a bit hard to find since all of the forests near the newcomer spawn have been picked clean. The respawn timer for resources currently is three hours.

That's a cave system with ores such as copper, tin, and also coal. Which are good for once you have enough technology invested to start using them.

Gathering Resources
If you've read through my "Understanding the Map and it's Biomes" section, you should know where most of the basic resources spawn, in each different biome. The game is mostly made up of tiles, since you move by squared tiles every step. Resources on tiles can simple be called "Resource Tiles".

To collect straw, you must go to the side of tall grass. Not on it. Then next you just have to right click on the tall grass and your character will begin to collect straw, until it is all taken and the tall grass disappears. Note, you should not be standing inside the tall grass.

Collecting sticks and logs you do the same you did with straw. You simply walk up to the side of the tree and right click it. Left clicking also works. If you are only using your hands, you will only be collecting sticks from it. Using an axe will allow you to collect sticks and also logs as well.

To find small stones, average stones and also large stones. You must find a dome like boulder. You can use just your hands to pick up stones, the same way to harvesting sticks and straw.
You'll need a hammer to collect stone chippings though.

Now that you know how to gather these resources, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to collect materials from other resource tiles!
Crafting your first Tool and Weapon
Tools and weapons are very important. Tools help you gather certain resources if it requires it. Weapons allow you to damage entities.
______________________________________________________________________________

Wood monofilaments are used in crafting for many things. Luckily it only requires one stick and one small stone to make, which is cheap.

Your first tool as a beginner should probably be a stone axe.

It requires one large stone, five wood monofilaments and one stick. All which aren't too hard to get.

Your first weapon as a beginner should probably be a stone bludgeon. It deals a good amount of damage at low levels and you can use it up to four times in combat in one round, only if you didn't use any of your AP (Action Points) to move around that time. This is because a stone bludgeon uses six AP to use and beginners usually start with twenty five AP.

Stone bludgeons require two large stones and ten wood filaments. Slightly more work than a stone axe but it'll be handy to have it on hand.

The Technology Tree
Technology is required to learn different crafting recipes. Which will help you progress and get better weapons, armor and tools. As well as many other things.

To research technology, you will always need a certain amount of TechPoints to be able to research the technology you want. To gain TechPoints, you will gain them for killing enemy entities (Not players.). You will also gain four TechPoints every ten minutes. Which is about twenty four TechPoints every hour, so it's faster to get geared up properly and take on rats.

If you want to know what each Technology unlocks for you when researched, check out this "Branch".
______________________________________________________________________________

It's very hard to see on Steam, I recommend downloading it. Once downloaded you can zoom in with your preferred image viewer and scroll around. Under each Technology name, it'll show you what you'll unlock. Note, crafting recipes that are unlocked will most likely need to be made on a wooden bench and etc.

Most specifically, I'm wondering if it makes a difference, if the battery or energy transporter should be closest to the source of power or if it should make any difference at all.

Could you include a workable power grid? i.e. An effective grid for setting out batteries and energy transporters.

Thx for the basics tutorial could you make an advanced one? I'll help too with grammar spelling and general feedback if needed. (In case anyone's wondering why I ask it's cause I see so many games fail to achieve there full potential because there is nothing to help them start or a reference guide if you forget. Then there are games that do have guides and tutorials but are very vague.)
I would hate to see another game fail or not attract enough people because they couldn't learn how to play or get lost way to easily. That's my spiel for the day! Bye! =)

how do i place my new unit or is it invisable and just helps me? P.s you can get the first 5000gc unit at any tower you save spawn at .
TheMarioPikmin May 4, 2018 @ 1:56pm
To eat: put food in the unit's inventory and right click.
To find crystals: Dig around? I think you can find them in rare rocks, otherwise trade for them.
To get another unit you must build an altar... Good luck.
To move: take items out of the unit's inventory cuz it's carrying too much.
Ok, now its time for my question... How do you play xD
