Tutorial to get back menu music

This is a tutorial to get the menu music after the conversion to Steamworks.

How to restore menu music

After the last update, music playback was broken, but I found out how to re-enable it. Follow these steps:

1) In race 07 main folder (...\Steam\steamapps\common\race 07), check for mssmp3.asi. It seems to be an MP3 audio decoder, similar to a dll. I downloaded RACE 07 and all addons after the update, and this file wasn't in the folder. Fortunately, I had a backup of the game folder + addons in my external HDD which had the mssmp3.asi file, so I just copied it to the main RACE 07 folder, and then the menu music playback was restored.

2) the menu theme tracks from race 07 and addons (such as GTR Evolution) must be placed in ...\Steam\steamapps\common\race 07\Music. Before the last update, the addon and DLCs menu tracks were located in ...\Steam\steamapps\common\race 07\GameData\Music. Why did Sector3 changed this is something I don't know. If you have RACE 07 and all the addons and DLCs, there should be 4 menu themes tracks:

1) GTR Evolution Soundtrack.mp3
2) Race On - sun_file
3) Race07_Main_Theme.mp3
4) STCC_Mustasch_MenuMusic.mp3

These tracks seem to be played randomly each time you open RACE 07. Unfortunately, the update disabled customized menu interface as well, such as the red theme you got when you launched GTR Evolution (plus the custom DLC menu theme). Now we only have the default menu theme from RACE 07 in blue. Please leave a reply reporting whether it worked or not for you.

Thanks for leaving the upload live for so long! Works fine for the main theme so I've moved the GTR Evo theme too as per your instructions and hopefully that will get picked up again too now.

It's supposed to work, maybe you didn't download the MP3 decoded filer into Race 07 folder. Here's a new link for the mssmp3.asi file:
