Windows XP, 7, 8, and 10 fullscreen and resolution fix (the real way)!
By Ohio's_Last_Rockstar
This is a simple, quick guide to changing the games resolution to fit your widescreen monitor in fullscreen!
This guide is 100% legit.
All it does is change the way the software (game) displays itself on modern systems.
Back then the resolutions were very low as the LCD widescreen was not around for the average consumer.

So it does not default to match todays screen size so we will force it.
(don't worry, it does nothing to your game or your computer/monitor/television)

*I have edited this to accommodate XP and 7 users.

The Guide
Right click the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen.

Select "run" then left click.

Type "regedit" and press enter.

Choose "yes" when prompted.

You are now in the windows registry.

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES UNLESS MENTIONED IN THIS GUIDE!!

Navigate to the following in the heiarchy.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
For Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind

For Windows XP users:
HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow646432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Click on "morrowind" (last folder in the heiarchy).

in the right pane, (the white box with the little torn pages with blue 1's and 0's)
scroll down to "Screen Height" and "Screen Width"
right click and select "modify".

Then change the "value box" number to match the setting of your desktop resolution.
CHANGE the circle-tick from "Hexadecimal" to "Decimal"

Do this for both the width and height.
(Screen width is the larger number)

Simply close the registry and it will automatically save for you!

You're Welcome!

Open your registry and just search screen height, and morrowind will pop and ready to edit

About 3 years late, but I guess I'll leave this for anyone else coming here. Pretty sure OpenMW or patches and mods for morrowind are the only way to fix having a high resolution and normal sized UI @Ultra-Violent Radiation
