TDU 2 - How To Open NAT / Ports

Thought I would make a guide to show how to open NAT / Ports in TDU 2.

Intro

First of all you might not even need this guide...

If you start TDU2 and you get a red or orange indicator on the TDU2 lanucher window, the best thing to do is actually wait for it to light up the PLAY button, then just exit out of it and go back to Steam. Then wait about 1 minute and try TDU2 again.

If you do this up to 5 times until you get a green light, then you dont even need to follow this guide.
If you do it until it goes orange, that is also ok and you dont need this guide.

If after doing this 5 times, it is still red, then this guide really is for you!

NAT

NAT is basically supposed to work by automatically opening ports on your router when needed. Most routers are terrible at this though and often you will be stuck in Strict or Moderate mode instead of Open mode.

You can fight with NAT, or you can just open ports on the router. I just open ports as even if you sort out NAT, sometimes you still need to open ports eg when there are 2 of the same consoles on the network.

Ports

This is most likely the best thing to do, opening ports or port forwarding as it can also be known.

To do this you need to login to your router and find the section for opening or forwarding ports.
Then you need to find out the ports that TDU2 needs/uses.

Now with this info you can fill in the sections in your router.

*I need to dig out the port number for ths guide and will do but you can find them in the TDU2 manual...which is also on Steam as PDF.
