Detective Grimoire Guide

A Guide to help catch the killer and finish the game. This is not a 100% completion guide.

Finding the crime scene

Note: make sure to look everywhere and click everything.

Make your way through the swamp docks to the Entrance and talk to the little girl. She will give you a map of the Boggy’s Bog. After talking to her try to go through the main gate and you will encounter a door puzzle. Once you’re in your going to encounter your first of many sentence puzzles. Flip through the options and find the one the makes sense: The swamp is far too remote for the Tourist Attraction to make any money.

Keep making you way towards the crime scene by going west, towards the museum. You will pass through the protest location which will be very important later on. In the protest location make note of the flower petals. Keeping going west and you will find the clearing. Click on the narrow path on the left and it will become a location you can explore, go there. This location is Outside Mr. Remington Office.

Outside Mr. Remington's Office

First click the footprints on the ground. Notice that there are three sets of footprints and one leads to into the reeds. Click the reeds or the footstep closet to the reeds. You will find a pair of green flippers.

Click the area of the swamp that is bubbling. Do the puzzle (the answer is three) and you will find a lock pick.

Click on the outline of Remington’s body and the open window above.

Try to get into Remington’s office and you will find that the door is locked. We will comeback to this area once the key is found. So backtrack and go back to the clearing and there will be two people there; Bobby Burle and Vincent Van De Peer.

It will be easier to talk to them once you have all the speech options. So move on to the Cafe.

The Cafe

Search the bin, you will find the Boggy costume design in there. Sentence puzzle; The costume design I found in the trash explains what the Burle B&W photo is showing me. You have now received a new speech option: Boggy Costume. After this you will start a new chapter and the little girl will appear and will give you the key to Remington’s office.

Also make sure to click the fireplace poker beside the shelf. This will provoke a sentence puzzle; The hunting photo is historical proof that Richard Remington belonged to a secret society. This will unlock new speech option; Richard Remington. Click all of the animals until grimoire comes to a shocking realization.

Now you have all speech options to it’s easier to speak to all the suspects.

The Clearing

Speak to Vincent De Peer and exhaust all speech options. You will find out that at the time of the murder he was at the clearing filming the water. He has recorded footage which captured the sounds heard during the murder. That will be added to your clues. Talking to him will invoke a sentence puzzle; Vincent De Peer told me that Bobby Burle was nowhere to be found last night. You have now unlocked a challenge for Bobby Burle.

Time to talk to Bobby exhaust all speech options with him. Talking about his job will unlock a sentence puzzle; Vincent De Peer only recently got permission from Mr. Remington to film in the swamp. This will unlock a challenge for Vincent De Peer. Make sure to challenge Burle and find out about his hobby. You will receive a photograph of “Boggy”.

Go back and challenge Vincent. You will find out about how he got filming permissions.
Backtrack once more and talk to the protestor.

Protest

Talk to Echo. You will find out that he is a fan of the Boggy cartoon. After talking to him, click on his tent, it is locked. You will have to find the combination.

Gift Shop

Talk to Sally then search her cart. Important items; Caps and Boggy Head. Talk to Sally exhaust all speech options. Ask her about last night and you will receive her black leggings.

Profile; ask Sally about Echo. Sentence puzzle; Echo spends less time holding the protest sign and more in his tent. You now gain a challenge for Echo.

The Cafe again

Go back to the café and talk to Harper and exhaust all speech options. Talk to him about his job—sentence puzzle; Remington left the café feeling ill after Harper sold him a Bog-Dog. This will unlock a new challenge for Harper. Challenge him. After you successfully challenge him you will receive a bottle of swamp juice.

Go into clues and ask him about The hunting photo, the fireplace poker, and the hunting rifle.

Treehouse

Look around the house; the bed, the yarn, the flower on the table.

Talk to Weybridge. Exhaust all speech options. You will receive a book about flowers and find out the Boggy costume was made by an amateur. You will also gain access to her chemistry set. Test all the clues that are dripping with swamp slime and find out that the slime on all the objects is made of the same compounds. Once you test all the items you will provoke a sentence puzzle: The Fireplace poker found at the crime scene and the black leggings are covered in the same swamp slime.

This unlocks a new challenge for Sally. Go challenge her and find that the leggings have been stretched. After that you will get the wind up toy.

Clues- show her the hunting photo

Woods

Talk to the little girl. Then click on the bubbling swamp area and solve the puzzle.

Path

Click around the area to find information on the hatch, flowers and museum.

Museum

Click on the glass case where the hands/gloves are and solve the puzzle to acquire the gloves. Click the journal and the plaque below it. Click the hatch.

Boggy's Bog poster- click on the copyright MCMXXXIV this is the answer to unlock Echo’s tent.

Talk to folder. Exhaust all speech options. Sentence puzzle; The lockpick I found near Remington’s body might belong to Agent Folder. A challenge for agent folder has been unlocked. Talking about the boggy costume will get you the file folder clue.

Clues- present him with the hunting photo, the costume design, the gloves, the flippers and the boggy photo.

Profile: ask him about Echo.

Treehouse again

Present Weybridge with the explorer’s journal it will provoke a sentence puzzle: Lady Weybridge was living in the swamp when the swamp creature was discovered by the explorer sixty years ago. This will unlock a challenge for Weybridge. Successfully complete it and you will receive the missing page of the explorer’s journal. Now you know what the swamp creature’s feet look like.

At this point you have all the clues.

Protest again

Access his tent buy using the info you found in the museum.

Clues- ask about the hunting photo

If you haven’t challenged him yet. Challenge him.

Profile- ask him about Harper, Boggy, Remington and Agent Folder.

After your done talking to him. Detective grimoire will say it’s time to go talk to Officer. You can go or spend some more time finding all the notes.
