House Edge at Four Kings
By That One Doe
I've done quite a bit of research on the house edge of various casino games and I would like to share this infodump with you. I take no credit for these statistics. They, along with many more, can be found on the Wizard of Odds website. A quick google search will take you there. I will expand some of these sections in the near future.

What is house edge?
Simply put, the house edge is what the casino expects to make in profit over the long term.

A house edge of 1% means that for every $100 wagered, the casino expects to make $1.

The more you play a game, the more likely your actual returns will be alligned with the house edge.

This is not to say you can't walk up to a roulette wheel, drop a chip on Black 8 and walk away a winner. You can, but its probably not going to happen on your first wager.
Baccarat
  • 1.06% on the banker bet
  • 1.24% on the player bet
  • 14.36% on the tie bet

Not bad odds for a game where you don't have to think!
Bingo
This is tough to put a finger on, since there are so many different patterns and the number of players impacts as well. The house also takes a cut of the entry fees. An 11% house edge is a safe starting point, but I expect this to be lower.

A player is guaranteed RP as well, so that may have value to you.
Blackjack
Blackjack has fairly favorable rules at Four Kings!
  • 6 Deck Shoe, Reshuffled after yellow cut card is drawn
  • Surrender
  • Dealer Stands on Soft 17
  • Unfortunately, no double on splits and no resplits.

Using optimal strategy, like the one found within other guides, the house has an edge of .529%
Single Deck Blackjack
Single Deck Blackjack has some of the best rules at the Four Kings.
  • Single Desk
  • Stand on Soft 17
  • Shuffle after each hand
  • Surrender
  • Unfortunately: No Resplitting or Doubling after Splitting.

When using correct strategy, the house edge is an amazing -.0465%! That means over time, the casino pays you to play.
Big Six
Big Six has some pretty terrible odds!
$1 space has a house edge of 11.11%
$2 space has a house edge of 16.67%
$5 space has a house edge of 22.22%
$10 space has a house edge of 18.52%
$20 space has a house edge of 22.22%
Joker space has a house edge of 24.07%
Logo space has a house edge of 24.07%
Craps
Special thanks to : ¡|Wál-Mãrt Shöpliftěr|!™ for this write up.
The house edge in craps is as follows:

Pass/Come-------------------------------------------------- 1.41%
Don'tPass/Don't Come-----------------------------------1.36%
Free Odds (Backing up your pass/come bet)----------- 0%
Field (2:1 on 2 , and 3:1 on 12)------------------------ 2.78%
Any Craps----------------------------------------------------11.11%
Big 6 and 8--------------------------------------------------- 9.09%
Hardways 4 and 10----------------------------------------11.11%
Hardways 6 and 8------------------------------------------9.09%
Place 6 and 8------------------------------------------------1.52%
Place 5 and 9----------------------------------------------- 4.00%
Place 4 and 10----------------------------------------------6.67%
2 and 12-------------------------------------------------------13.89%
3 and 11-------------------------------------------------------11.11%
Any Seven----------------------------------------------------16.67%
Keno
I have not actually calculated the odds based on the pay table at Four Kings. My experiences is that since Four Kings pays at 4 numbers on a Pick 10, the odds are a bit more favorable than the real casinos. Also, the bonus ball may help lower the edge.

Typically, Keno has around 25-40% house edge.

Poker
No house edge! They do, however, take a cut of the buy-in amount.

Poker is great because it is game of skill and only a bit of luck!
Roulette
Roulette at the Four Kings is played on an American Style 0-00 wheel. This essentially doubles the house edge over a traditional 0 wheel. This is not a bad call on Four King's part, as most casinos in the US play with these wheels. Atlantic City is a bit friendlier with it, but more on that later...

The house edge on most roulette bets is 5.26%
However, if the player bets on the 0-00-1-2-3 space the house edge jumps to 7.89%

Now in Atlantic City, if you're interested, any even money bets (wagers that pay 1 to 1 such as red, black, odd, even, 1-18, and 19-36) have an advantage when a green number is spun. If a player is betting on red, for example, and 00 comes up the house will only take half of the players wager! Very kind of them! Infact, this rule gives atlantic city roulette a nice edge of 2.63%. Not the best, but it is even better than a single zero roulette wheel (2.7%)
Slots
Really hard to tell this one, since slot machines can be adjusted by the operator. Based on my experiences, I feel like these have a smaller house edge than the ones I've played in Atlantic City. Atlantic City has an average house edge of about 10%, but the edge drops considerably if you play a higher denomination per line. I do not have any idea how these slots work in Four Kings, but always play max lines!
War
Casino War at the Four Kings is played with Six Decks and an optional Tie bet.

Casino War is weird because the house only has an edge by making the player double their wager to go to war. If the player wins, they will then only pay out the amount of the original wager! However, if you tie in a war, you will win the full amount wagered.

Example: Betting 500 per hand and war is declared. The player must put up another 500 to continue, or can surrender. If the player goes to war, they must put up another 500 for a total of 1000. If the player wins, they will receive 1500 total, their 1000 and 500 for winner. If the war ties, the player will receive 2000 total.

The house has an edge of 2.88% when the player always goes to war.
The house has an edge of 3.70% when the player surrenders.
The house has an edge of 18.65% on the tie bet.
Video Blackjack
Tends to be around 2%. This is because they tend to not pay even money on BJ. I dont know the exact rules or odds of Four Kings Video BJ. Check back for updates!
Video Poker, Jacks or Better
Four Kings gives us a Full Pay Jacks or Better Machine! Full pay means you are paid 9 for a full house and 6 for a flush. Other casinos I have seen reduce these figures to 8 and 6, or 8 and 5 for example. This greatly shifts the house edge.

Luckily we don't have to worry about checking the pay table before playing at Four Kings!

A properly played game according to simple strategy has a .46% house edge.

Not bad at all! Always play max credits! Look at how much that jackpot jumps up on the 5th coin. If you arn't playing full credits, the house edge increases.
Conclusion
Have fun & Don't bet more than you can afford ( especially if you are buying chips often or playing at real casinos ).

I've had superlative results with max lines max wager in the "Spinning Cogs" machine. The big money is in the bonus rounds. I always pick the center zeppelin in each line because as far as I can tell there's no way to tell what's what. If you get to the third round of the bonus, you typically take away at least 100K, plus whatever you get in the 2x multiplier free spins.

If anyone does know a way to tell which zeppelins are hiding which items, please share!

P.P.S. I have been reviewing my data and it should be noted that, between rolls 41 and 91, I was down money rather than up money. This does not change my original conclusion of the overall house edge, but it does suggest that perhaps a larger sample size is needed.

P.S. I encourage others to try and duplicate my results on the Crazy 8s slot machine, or to do research into other lines on Crazy 8s or other slot machines within the casino.
Just keep in mind that one of the pillars of statistics (The Central Limit Theorem) suggests that any fewer than 30 trials doesn't begin to give you a clear view of the true mean/average.
As such, if you are going to try, record your results, and do at least 30 trials. More are always better, but if you must, 30 is the minimum.
Right, cheers!

To the author: I'm not sure what your statistics background is (I see that you used several odds from various sites, so I'm going to assume that you haven't taken much statistics on the Four Kings itself) but I thought you may be interested to know that the Crazy 8 machine at the Four Kings, at least at the time of this comment, actually has a negative house edge.
To other others reading this that don't full understand "house edge" terminology, it means that the Crazy 8 machine actually pays you over the long run, rather than you paying it.
I ran 106 tracked games at the crazy eight machine, with a 18 line set. My average return over those 106 games was 112.2% of my bet for each run, meaning the house edge for Crazy 8s with 18 lines is -12.2%
If you have any questions, please ask, and thank you for the guide.

Edit: "Some games in FOUR KINGS do not follow what I would call "typical" casino rules.

Because i submitted the response to early.

Re: Video Blackjack

1) Yes, it is probably reshuffling
2) The odds in the guide are "typical" casino payouts. Some games like Keno and VBJ do not follow what I would call "typical" casino rules. I not calculated exact rules for four kings. Things like unable to double down after splits, no double down on any two cards, and no surrender bump up the odds and generally are the way casinos increase house odds. The big killer is 6 to 5 blackjack payout instead of 3 to 2. But I digress. I will visit the only casino I know that has video blackjack in a similar format to determine if they also have the "Pay 8 hands buy only play 7" penalty. It may be a few weeks before I travel that way again.

Video Blackjack: min bet 200, you get 7 hands, and the payout indicates each hand is 25 chips... so you pay 200 chips for 175 of actual placed bets?? this sounds like FAR worse odds than this guide suggests...

Does it reshuffle every turn for Video BJ?
