How to install TheWorse mod MANUALLY
Ashen tarafından
This guide will tell you how to install "TheWorse v1.0 with Configurable Options (Bad Blood Compatible)" manually, the right way. I will provide everything you need to do so. You can also use this knowledge to install any other mod manually.

Keep in mind that this guide only shows you how to install the mod manually. If you want the easy way, then use the provided installation tool in the mod download. All the needed instructions for that method are available on this website: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393192

Downloading the mod itself
First, you will need to download TheWorse mod that has been updated for the Bad Blood DLC on this website: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393192

As you can see, it also says that it has been merged with v1.05.324 of the game, but the most recent version is v1.06.329 so we can't use the provided patch.dat & patch.fat files, we'll need to merge the mod with our own files ourselve. You can also use this method to use multiple mods at the same time.
Downloading the Disrupt tool
Next, you will need a tool called Disrupt to unpack the needed file to merge our mod in, then repack it. It's already included in the mod download but you can get the latest version here: http://svn.gib.me/builds/disrupt/

Use a program like WinRAR or 7zip to unpack it somewhere.
Unpacking the patch.dat file
Next, go to \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Watch_Dogs\data_win64, there should be files named patch.dat and patch.fat. We'll need patch.dat.

Remember the disrupt-r49_b38.zip file you downloaded and unpacked? Open that, and go to the bin folder inside it. Keep those two windows open next to each other, it should look like this:

Now drag patch.dat and drop it on Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack.exe like this:

This will unpack patch.dat and create a folder named "patch_unpack" in your Watch_Dogs folder like this:

The actual modding
Remember the cmh175_TW_Watch_Dogs Mod.7z file you downloaded first? Unpack that and go in the "Mod Options" folder inside. It should look like this:

All these folders are basically categories to modify specific settings. For example, all the folders in "Z_BLOOM AND FOG" modify the same files, you simply have more than one choice.

To make things simple, we'll do one at a time.

(No longer in the pack) Z_BLOOM AND FOG: You should see 4 other folders inside. You must choose only one of them.(Very important! This applies to every other category too) In my case, I want "Low Bloom and High Fog", so i'll open that one. Now you must copy everything inside that folder and paste it inside your "patch_unpack" folder. In this case, there was only one folder named "worlds", it should look like this:

Z_CIVILIAN DENSITY: You can choose between the default or increased civilian density. In my case, I want the increased option, so i'm opening that one. Like before, copy the folder inside and paste it in your "patch_unpack" folder, and replace the file when asked.

Z_DOF AND CAMERA'S: You have alot more choices for this one this time. I would personally recommend the TheWorse one. I don't need to tell you what to do next, do I? (>_<)

Z_ENVIRONMENT LIGHTING: I also recommend TheWorse one too. I like the default TheWorse lightning settings.

Z_HEADLIGHT SHADOWS, it's pretty self-explanatory. You must choose if you want to enable dynamic shadows or not. If you want the best look, you obviously must choose to turn them on.

Z_LENS FLARES: I like TheWorse one too, but for some reason there is a graphical glitch when I tried it on Windows 10... So for the time being I chose SoloCreep's version which is very good too. Inside that folder, you have even more variations of the same mod, the best one from the bunch is "E3 Flare V6 - My Favorite -WITH HALO-".

Z_Light Pollution Effect: Choose TheWorse one again, the whole reason you want to install TheWorse mod is because you want TheWorse settings, right? Not the default vanilla ones (^_^)

Z_Texture Options: Okay, this is the best part of the mod. The Maldo textures are what makes the game more smooth and removes the stuttering in the game. TonyMBR updated those textures for the Bad Blood DLC too, so choose the TonyMBR updated Maldo textures one! Replace everything when asked.
Repacking the patch.dat file
Now that all the mod settings has been applied, we must repack the "patch_unpack" folder. To do that, simply drag the folder and drop it on Gibbed.Disrupt.Pack.exe. It should look like this:

After the process is done, two new files will be created: unpack_patch.dat & unpack_patch.fat.

Finally, simply delete patch.dat & patch.fat and rename unpack_patch.dat & unpack_patch.fat to patch.dat & patch.fat. (you basically swap them)
Conclusion
There you go! You just installed TheWorse mod manually, the right way (^w^)

I tried to explain everything as clearly as possible, I really hope this guide helped you.

@Vinchek
You should only be unpacking the patch.dat file and nothing else. Also make sure you have all the prerequisites to use the unpacking tool. I believe you need Microsoft XNA Framework to use it. Honestly it's been so long I can't remember much else, sorry >_<

Hello. I'm transferring the patch_english.dat file to Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack.exe and I get an error like this:
Unhandled Exception: System.FormatException: bad magic
at Gibbed.Disrupt.FileFormats.BigFile.Deserialize(Stream input)
at Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack.Program.Main(String[] args)

If Disrupt is giving you "Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: could not find an acceptable version of XnaNative installed to use" , You have to to install Mircosoft's XNA framework [www.microsoft.com] for it to run.

I've downloaded it and almost seemed good but when I tried to move the patch.dat file, it said that its corrupted. Did I do something wrong or is there something wrong with the file? I've been trying to solve it for 2 weeks and got nothing:steamsad:

Wait for the Gibbed.Disrupt.pack.exe command prompt to close then the patch_unpack.fat will appear.

Are you sure you did everything by the letter? To be honest, it's been years since I played that game so I don't remember everything. I'll have to check to be sure but it's not currently installed on my computer :/

Hey worked well until the end where it didn't create the patch_unpack.fat file
the patch_unpack.dat file is there though, any ideas on what to do?

Thanks man! Perfect tutorial.
The only thing I missed at first was the need to have xna installed on my system, so the unpack tool did not work the first time I tried. After installing xna framework, I did the unpack process and replaced the files. My game is running great with amazing graphics.
Thanks a lot

I don't know, I haven't installed it yet. I always prep before I start an older game I plan on beating by researching all the upgrades/mods I want so I get the full treatment.

I just assumed since the patch files in the mod installer are old that it wouldn't work. I'll try it eventually first to see if it works and if I remember I'll post back here for confirmation. Anyways yeah thanks for writing up the method that will for perpetuity. :D:
