How to Quickscope

Introduction

Why must one quickscope?

1. It looks dank.
2. It looks dank.
3. (You guessed it) It looks dank.

Sniper rifles were always meant to be used in long range. But this is call of duty!




Yeah people with snipers run about and people with sub machine guns camp in corners.

Oh call of duty. Never ceases to amaze me.

Anyways, getting on to the topic, I will show you how to hit dank shots. If you end up hitting them, drop a rating on this guide. If you feel it useful (or amusing) then also rate it.

Setup

So you kept reading eh? Really desperate?

Good. You are going to like this one.

You gotta be mentally prepared for heated qu1cksc0ping. This is not for the light-hearted. You can really use any computer - this is coming from a 'mac gamer'. I am too poor to afford a PC (oh the irony). This game is simply too old so any computer is fine.

Old but gold.

These is my settings. These can be configured by going into Options > Graphics.


Now since I am a scrub, I play on a mac. This prevents me from maxing out this game. However, you should only max out all the settings if you can good FPS (About 60) on the settings. Otherwise I suggest you tone down these setttings.

1. Shadows - OFF
2. Anti aliasing - OFF (or 2x)
3. Depth of Field - OFF
4. Soften smoke edges - OFF
5. Water detail - LOW

In order you should toggle these, go in game and check FPS. Once it is looking good proceed to next step.

These are my Texture settings. These can be accessed by Options > Texture settings


Now according to your computer (if you have not changed these settings) they should automatically correct them for you. But I suggest increasing them and decreasing graphics settings, as that makes the game look better. The graphics options are sort of add ons. This is the real deal. This is why I have pushed this stuff to High settings.

Mind you, this is only for multiplayer. (As for this guide)

Single player is different, sniping is different and qu1cksc0ping isn't particularly necessary there. Also the graphics and textures can be higher (It takes less processing)

Class setup

Now before you even think of qu1cksc0ping yet, you have to make a good class. Now what I suggest greatly varies with your play style.

Now some guns require more play time to unlock. If you are really deperate, join a High XP server, where you level up very quickly. Also the ACOG attatchment requires you to get certain amount of kills with that weapon to level up, so do that challenge before using that class.

Class setups: These are my favourite setups. I suggest you use these.

1. M40A3 Class - My favourite and all rounded. Good looking quickscopes.

Primary - M40A3
Secondary - Any pistol (Preferable M9 or Desert eagle)
Special grenade - Stun grenade
Perk 1 - Bandolier (Note this does not increase bullets in the clip only overall ammo) or Stun x3
Perk 2 - Stopping power
Perk 3 - Deep impact

2. M40A3 Acog class - If you have better aim and more aggressive, this is the one for you.

Primary M40A3
Secondary - Any pistol (Preferable M9 or Desert eagle)
Special grenade - Flashbang
Perk 1 - Bandolier or Stun x3
Perk 2 - Stopping power
Perk 3 - Steady aim

3. R700 Class - If you are good with wallbanging and have good aim, this weapon is more deadly than the M40A3.

Primary - R700
Secondary - Any pistol (Preferable M9 or Desert eagle)
Special grenade - Flashbang
Perk 1 - Bandolier or Claymores
Perk 2 - Sleight of Hand
Perk 3 - Steady aim

4. Barett class - This is good if you want a lot more than 4-5 kills in a row (Difficult enough). This gun is easier to use and good for close range in case you miss. However, it does not look as good for qu1cksc0ping

Primary - Barett 50 Cal.
Secondary - Any pistol (Preferable M9 or Desert eagle)
Special grenade - Stun
Perk 1 - Stun x3
Perk 2 - Stopping power
Perk 3 - Steady aim

5. (Optional m21 Class) - This class is fun for sniping but not good for hitting clips. And dont even get me started on the drugonov.

Primary - M21 (Acog is also a good attatchment)
Secondary - Any pistol (Preferable M9 or Desert eagle)
Special grenade - Stun
Perk 1 - Stun x3
Perk 2 - Stopping power
Perk 3 - Steady aim

Ok, Now that you have maded the classes that you want, we can get into game!

No. Not really. You need some practise first.

Fun Stuff

Now for the real deal. The real insider information. Consider yourself lucky.

Now using the classes in the previous section, you should always equip your sniper rifle. Dont be a ♥♥♥♥♥ picking up other guns that take no skill to use. You are a sniper, be a sniper.

Now how to qu1cksc0pe:

1. Make sure your settings are set so that aim down sights is toggle and not hold. This makes you think about when to scope in more. (However if you really dont like toggle, dont use it)

2. Right click to aim down sights and as soon as you see the crosshairs, shoot the gun. This is known as a qu1cksc0pe. There is also black scopes, in which you scope in and shoot before you see the crosshairs. This does look better, but does not shoot accurately as this is still a no-scope (shooting without scoping). So stick to qu1cksc0pes for now.

3. As soon as you shoot, right click again to un-scope. Keeping your scope zoomed in and killing targets successively is known as hardscoping. This takes less skill and looks worse, but is usually for passive play.

4. Now that you have tried it out, go on multiplayer to see how you fair. This is usually very difficult to hit shots in the beginning so dont worry, keep practising.

5. You HAVE to make sure that you do not move while you make the shot, this makes it very inaccurate. But, do not stand in one spot for more than a second or so, this makes you as vulnerable as a duck.

6. Dont bother aiming for the head. This takes more time and you are probably better off aiming generally for the body. In case you get a hitmarker and not a kill, finish the off with a pistol or practise more qu1cksc0ping. It only comes with practise.

7. Drag scope. This is when you 'drag' your scope before you shoot. This looks cleaner and can get very useful in tight situations

8. Collaterals. These look super cool and make your shots more rewarding. Collaterals are simply killing more that one person with a single bullet. In this game with deep impact perk equipped, you can kill up to 4 people with one bullet (very difficult to pull off). Try waiting at one end of a corridor, narrow path or a corner where multiple enemies line up, so you can take a shot.

9. Weapon swap. If you can pull this off with a qu1cksc0pe it looks really dank. Set your weapon swap to either '1' or mouse down. Simply tap 1 twice or scroll down and back up quickly to start but cancel the switch weapon animation. This looks really dank once you hit a shot with it.

10. Use your grenades carefully. Use flashbangs to flash someone in order to push forwards, and use stuns to make targets easier to shoot. Its your call.

So you have learnt the tricks and to qu1cksc0pe. Now put it to use and remember to have fun. If you dont like it, switch it up. The only reason why people do it is because it takes more skill than using a regular gun. But once in a while switch it up to keep your game fresh.
