Terraria Glitch: How to Make Floating Teleporters

An accidental glitch I found one day messing with teleporters. Hope it's useful, maybe in farms and other contraptions!

You Will Need

A very short list of what you'll need to create these floating teleporters:
-Three teleporters (bought from the Hardmode Steampunker NPC for 2 Gold, 50 Silver each)
-Any pickaxe
-At least a 3 block wide, 6 block tall space

If you have these, you can make your own floating teleporter!

How to Make Them

These teleporters are very simple to create and can be done in just three easy steps!

1. Choose your location and set your three teleporters there in a stack on top of each other.













2. Now mine the bottom teleporter of the stack. (Sorry, this picture is blurry because you can't use camera mode to show a pickaxe or a cursor)







3. You'll get the bottom and middle teleporters back as items, but the top teleporter will stay placed!

Congratulations! You now have a floating teleporter to show off to your friends!

Note: This glitch won't work with a 3 tile wide by 2 tile tall section of tiles with a teleporter on top because blocks don't disappear when blocks under them are mined. You need teleporters so that the middle teleporter loses its support blocks when the bottom teleporter is mined - which are those of the bottom teleporter - but the top teleporter doesn't sense that its support "blocks" are gone.

A Few Properties (will be expanded)

• Placing anything on top of a floating teleporter will cause it to break. Wiring a switch/lever to the teleporter to make it function will have to be done like this:
• However, creating a floating teleporter one block underneath a pre-existing block will not break the teleporter:
• Attempting to use actuators to send a floating teleporter to the background will break it. However, actuating the top teleporter of a stack into the background before making it a floating teleporter won't break it.
  
  
• This glitch works with items other than teleporters. Look, I made it work with a statue!

Possible Usage

This glitch could be utilized in many ways in mob farms to make room for more spawns, especially as you can stack teleporters to mine every third one so you have lots of spawn surfaces that would instantly teleport mobs either away or into a kill chamber for grinding loot or critters. It could also be used to create efficient teleporter hubs so that you wouldn't need blocks or could have more room for hoik systems.
