Was about to comment about the Coalition and the Remnant
I've reinstalled the game and I'll be giving it another playthrough sometime, but I doubt I'll be updating anything here--other guides and the Fandom wiki have taken over since.
Most info here is badly outdated (no surprise after 8 years), but I've left the guide up anyway as an artifact of an earlier era. Humorously, a few parts--like the importance of jump drives, Shield Beetles as accessible endgame warships, and the supremacy of Skylances--seem to still be as true as ever... even if the Quarg are a little pissier about you taking their stuff nowadays than they used to be.
My only disappointment is that the game didn't get more traction over the years. We're at a whopping 100-ish players on steamcharts at the time of this post--so for the other 99 of you, happy spacefaring out there.
