[OLD] Tiger 1 (with rotating turret)

ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ
This mod is old and no longer supported. I will only keep it here for statistical purposes. Please take a look at my German tank museum instead!

Game piece for wargaming of the german Tiger 1 tank.
Has a rotating turret (grab it at the turret to rotate it, grab it on the body to rotate the hull)
Also sports an advanced collision mesh for precise placement.
Comes in five versions:
Panzergrey, Desert Camo, Forest Camo, Snow Camo, Destroyed

If scaling results in floating turret: Scale to desired size, then move the model around a bit. Press rewind and it should snap together again.

Warning: Do not place into bag. Connection will break and taking it back out might result in pieces messing up other placed things on the table.

Known issues: Tracks are mistextured. Fixing this is out of my capabilities for now.

Model and texture are NOT by me. Credit for that goes to the original creator.

is there a way to save any tank that has a rotatable turret to objects without the turret or hull missing? Whenever i try that i get the hull or turret by itself instead of the full thing.

Thanks!

If the hull has the "sticky" toggle enabled (which it should have by default) then you don't even have to group them.

Sorry mate, I'm completely new to TT sim and 3D modelling in general. Do you just physically place the turret model onto the hull model in TT sim and then group them?

If you mean that the turret should stay in position when moving the hull, then you have to break the joint and just place the turret on the hull.

How do you get the turret to turn independently?

Yes, I know this problem and this is why the tracks are mistextured. I don't know how to work with UVs yet, so I bite the bullet so to say. It doesn't look that ugly anyways. :P

Hopefully you have been fortunate so far with having the tanks you convert all come from a single texture sheet.. I've had to redo UVs on a couple of World of Tank models so far so they all come from a single texture for Tabletop Simulator!

Thanks, it took me a few hours to create and fix it! With the extra collision mesh it really takes time.
