Hello.

Sooo, i am kinda new to this 'making a guide', but i figured id give it a shot, and try to share some tips on trout fishing, at Falcon Lake, Oregon.

Where:
So far, the best area for me, and the area i will focus on in this guide is 'Trout Lair'

Rod And Reel and lure setup
As you can see, i use:

Rod: Jigwinner 270 (seems to be the rod, that gives me the longest cast)
Reel: FatBoySpin 5000 (any good reel will do, Prima, MG works fine)
Line: MagFin Braid .005/0.12 (costs gold, but adds a few meters cast)

Really setup should go towards maximum cast length, as in my experience every inch/cm counts, thats is, if you want a shot at the Uni Rainbows.
Line strength is more than enough, for any trout you can get at this lake, and also strong enough to handle 99% of the snags you may encounter.

Lures: pretty much anything you have. the trout here are NOT picky. But i made a small list of what works for me. All of theese has landed one or more Uni's

1. Silver Narrow Spoon 7g #1/0
2. Purple Narrow Spoon 7g #1/0
3. Shad, 7cm(big one) white/red, 9g #2/0 Jighead
4. Grub, (big one) red, 9g #2/0 Jighead.

Trophy Brown Trout
Browns are fun. You cant get em in uni, and even trophy's are rare, i average ~2 trophy Browns pr day. but XP for a regular is ~80-100XP with premium, and 200+ for trophy.

As you start, you walk towards the lake, and have a large green patch of underwater plant stuff, you can pretty much say, stand left of green goo = browns, on the right side of goo = Rainbows, and on the far far right = bass.

But if you stand on the left side, cast towards the cliffs, like in the pic, cast as far as you can, Speed 3, drag 2, Lift/Drop back, it's all Browns.

Time: pretty much all day, 5:00 AM - atleast 18:00 PM, But happy hour, starts at ~11-12AM.
Lure: I use mostly use a silver narrow spoon, Purple Narrow Spoon, or beetle spinner.

Note: When reeling in, at around 18 meters to 0 meters you tend to get the odd rainbow trout. but no browns.
Note: when about 5 meters from shore, speed up to max, and lift rod, to avoid snag next to shore.

Uni/Trophy Rainbow Trout
Rainbows, guess you all know why we fish for em here, so lemme get to the point.

Time: 12:00-18:00 (some claim 19:00, but i have never gotten a uni after 18:00)

Lure: Purple Narrow Spoon, Silver Narrow Spoon, White/red Shad

How: stop/go, Lift/drop, Speed 3, Drag 2, fast stop/go, or slow lift/drop seems to work, i mostly use the slow lift/drop, to stay in uni zone as long as possible.

Where: Goto the right of goo, you wanna stand in the middle, between the goo, and the log on the right, Aim as in the picture, as far as you can go, 60+ meters, or 200+ feet.

At 25 meters from shore, you can speed reel in, and cast again. you may get a rainbow closer to shore, but not a uni.

How many uni's do you catch pr game day? anywhere from 0 and up to 6 (or so some guy claimed, personally i have never gotten more than 2 uni on same game day.)

Profit...
Sooo, is it worth it to go here?
Yeah it is....

Travel: 500
Fishing Fee: 30
License: 100 adv. + 60 for trout

Total: 690
With the XXL net, i make ~1000$ pr day + any uni gold. :-)
