How to make your phys-gun bright

How to make your phys-gun in gmod bright and colorful.

Introduction

If you are new to Garry's Mod or just have never noticed before, you can actually change the color of your Physics Gun. This is similar to what it will look like if you have never changed it:


In this guide I will show you how to make it look very bright and colorful to please your lil' eyes.

How to change color

Your first step is to hold C to open your context menu (Default key, if you have changed it, R.I.P). In this menu you can click on the top left where it says "Playermodel" to edit a few things about your character.


The first you will see it this:


You can edit your playermodel here but what we want to do is click on the "Colors" tab at the top. You should get a menu like this:


Here, you can drag your mouse along the RGB scale to change the color of your physgun.

How to make the colors bright/dark

To make the colors really bright/dark you will need to click on the actual number itself like this:


Then once you're in the colors you can change them to be beyond the limit, like this:


Then the next time your character dies, your Physics gun should look something like this:



Now you have a really fancy Physics Gun. Try out a bunch of different combinations of long numbers to see what you can get. I suggest not making it too long or it will look kind of stupid. You can also make the Physics Gun look "Dark". To do this, make the numbers negative, like this:


Then this is what it should look similar to:


Try different combinations of negative numbers too. They can look very interesting.

How to give other people the color

You can give out the color of your Physics Gun by going into your console and typing "cl_weaponcolor" then click on the command that should pop-up under the console:


Then simply select it and copy it:


You can then paste this to your friends for them to place into the console and try out the color for themselves:
