IJN Kawachi Class Battleship

The Kawachi-class Battleship of WW1 & 2.

I made this ship as close to full scale as i could. Since FtD uses 1m square blocks some things, such as armor, are impossible to size correctly so for every 100mm of plating the real ship had, I added 1 block in game; so thickest armor on the belt and turret faces is 3-4 metal blocks. Most of the superstructure is made of alloy for weight reduction in order to achieve the correct draft and CG.

There is a fully accessible interior made primarily of wood beam compartmentalization bulkheads; the majority of which are empty. The lowest section of the ship, around the keel, is made of metal beams to help keep the CG down.

The Kawachi class was Japans first dreadnought / battleship. It featured 12, 12" guns (305mm) in 6 x 2 turrets that were arranged in a hexagonal layout, and 12 secondary guns along the ships armor belt... and several smaller deck guns. Game wise, there wasnt enough room to make the 4 chase guns (fore & aft) so they had to be large premade cannons instead of customs like the rest; deck guns too :( Also, this ship has no AA capabilities so it will need air support.

I dont have much campaign experience so if anyone finds anything that needs improving let me know, i'll get right on it!
