Step 1: Batting an Eye
The First and easiest to do is get yourself a Light's Bane or the Blood Butcherer. You can obtain them either from (10) Demonite, for the Light's Bane or (10) Crimtane, which can be obtained from their ores (Crimtane and Demonite ore) which can be obtained from Eye of Cthulhu or Brain of Cthulhu/Eater of Worlds, for the Blood Butcherer at an Iron Anvil.
Step 2: Journey
This step is a bit longer. To obtain these other ingredients it takes a lot of work. First and easiest should be obtaining a Muramasa. The Muramasa can be obtained from a Golden Dungeon chest. However, don't get the Muramasa confused with the Cobalt sword. Don't forget that the Dungeon is only accessible after beating Skeletron. You now have to go into the Jungle and gather (12) Jungle Spores and (12) Stingers. Keep in mind that the Stingers come from Spiked Jungle Slimes, and Hornets, which can only be found in the Underground Jungle. You can also only find Jungle Spores deep within the Jungle. Then craft the "Blade of Grass" at an any Anvil.
Step 3: Descent to Hell
Next thing you want to do is prep for going to the Underworld. This is not an easy task. For this step you will have (20) Hellstone Bars. To obtain this much Hellstone, but as easy as this sounds, IT'S NOT. To even make (1) Hellstone Bar, you must obtain (3) Hellstone, and (1) Obsidian, and a Hellstone forge (which can be found in the underworld, NOT crafted). Obsidian can be mined after dumping water on lava or vice versa. Hellstone however is found in the Underworld as red stone that is found in the ash blocks. You must be careful while mining Hellstone though, because it turns to lava when mined. I would suggest keeping a wall between you and the Hellstone. After you have obtained enough Hellstone, take it to any Anvil and smith a Fiery Greatsword.
Step 4: Into the Lion's Den
Basically what do you have now if you followed these steps properly? What you have is 4 swords of intense power. To finish this next step, you must find a Demon/Crimson Altar. It looks like this... Now normally you can find these anywhere... However they are mostly found in Corruption/Crimson Biomes underground in hordes. To make the Night's Edge from the Fiery Greatsword, Blade of Grass, Muramasa, and Light's Bane/Blood Butcherer, you must have all 4 swords in your inventory and stand next to the Altar with your crafting menu open like you would a normal crafting station. The Night's Edge is possibly the most powerful sword in Pre-Hardmode.
Step 5: The Holy Grail
In this next step you will be obtaining an even stronger sword than the Night's Edge! To do so, you must obtain proper gear to fight the Mechanical Bosses (This guide isn't going to cover that). There are 3 Mechanical Bosses in total, including; "The Destroyer", "The Twins", and "Skeletron Prime". They summon on their own as a 1/2 chance each night, as long as you have not beaten them. If you are not patient enough to wait there is a simpler way. You can craft (Or obtain from most hardmode enemies) a Mechanical Skull "(30) Bones (5) Iron/Lead Bars (3) Souls of Light (3) Souls of Night" to summon Skeletron Prime, a Mechanical Eye "(3) Lens (5) Iron/Lead Bars (6) Souls of Light" for The Twins, or a Mechanical Worm "(6) Rotten Chunks/Vertebrae (5) Iron/Lead Bars (6) Souls of Night". I know it seems like a pain since you only need to kill one of these bosses to obtain what you need but in order for the next step to work, you will need all 3 to be dead. The item you need from one of these bosses is "Hallowed Bars" and you need (12) of them to make the item. This "item" is called the Excalibur. It looks like this...
Step 6: Like a Moth to a Flame
This Step involves fighting a mini boss named Mothron. To get Mothron to spawn, you must have a Solar Eclipse after beating all 3 Mechanical Bosses. Now Solar Eclipses are pretty tough to deal with but Mothron is worse, Mothron will despawn if you die and won't come back for a while. Mothron has 6000 health (12000 in expert mode) so this will not be an easy task. Mothron has a 25% chance to drop the item we need which we need (2) of. That item is the Broken Hero Sword. Now I know that I said before that the Excalibur is stronger than the Night's Edge, that part is true. But what is also true, is that the True Night's Edge is stronger than the True Excalibur. Now you may be wondering what this "True" means, well it means you have made it more powerful by combining it with a Broken Hero Sword. So, for sake of strategy, I would say to make the True Night's Edge first--
Then the True Excalibur--
Final Step: UnGodly Power
Now this step is incredibly easy assuming you already made both the True Night's Edge and the True Excalibur. All you must do to create a Terra Blade at this point is craft it at an Orichalcum/Mythril Anvil while having both swords in your inventory.

After the Journey's End update is released for Terraria, I'm going to be fact checking this guide and revising it for more current times. And fixing grammar mistakes. The next update is said to be releasing some time this year. I'll also be trying to make more guides that just help with some strategy for building and other such things. Just came back to this guide and realized all the grammar mistakes. See y'all soon.
