The Forgotten City

Beskrivning
The Forgotten City is the first mod in history to win a national Writers' Guild award, and offers a unique 6 - 8 hour experience: a murder mystery investigation set in an ancient underground city. You'll need to solve it using your wits, and the ability to travel through time. It has a dark, non-linear story in which you'll interrogate suspects, explore the city and its many secrets, and navigate challenging moral dilemmas. It features multiple endings, an original orchestral score, and high-quality voice acting.

FAQ

Are there any level requirements?
It’s designed for characters at Level 5 and above. The story responds to your character’s individual history, so a high level is recommended.

Do I need to have the other Skyrim expansions or other mods?
No. Only Skyrim is required.

Is it compatible with other mods?
Yes.

Can I bring a follower?
This mod is designed to be played solo.

HOW TO START THE GAME

If you’re Level 5 or above, you’ll be approached automatically by a courier when you enter any city. Or, go to the "Forgotten Ruins" near Markarth.

This is one of the best mods I've ever played, better than almost all of actual vanilla skyrim questlines.

If you complete this quest on a save file, then switch to a different computer, even using the same save file, the game will no recognize your progress on the quest and you'll have to start it over from the beginning, even if you've already completely finished it. Just a warning

I honestly had fun playing this mod and got extremely immersed quickly. The music created for this piece is adding a lot more feelings than I would have thought. Overall, I mostly felt like playing Fallout with the aesthetics of the Elder Scrolls. It was a great experience, thank you

Haven't made it to playing the actual quest yet, but holy shit. I am so fucking tied of being SPAMMED by the courier CONSTANTLY bringing me that same damn letter at the start, I've literally received it over 10 times. And each time it repeats the same UNSKIPPABLE voiceover. Who adds a voiceover to a letter?? It completely took me out of the experience the first time, why would they do this?

Excellent mod!!! Multiple endings, morally grey choices, a unique soundtrack!

The only downside for me is that I've got a bug which makes it so that the standard "city ambience" music from this mod is now the only one that queues when playing anywhere else in game (riverwood, windhelm, the blue palace, etc. All now only have that music playing, which is annoying and sickenning to say the least. the music is great, but I've now heard it so much that I'm starting to dream of it, so I'll be uninstalling the mod. Will play again with a different character, though!

This mod is certainly worth playing. However, I recommend the standalone game with the same name. The standalone version is much more polished, has more edges rounded and even better acting. Oh, and although you will recognise characters from the mod, the story is new and plenty of gameplay mechanics received a well-deserved overhaul.

The worst part of this mod is that it ruined skyrim for me. I simply can't enjoy vanilla skyrim quests because they don't hold a candle to the amazing storytelling of this mod. 11/10 mod, can't recommend it enough.

I'm several years late, but this was amazing!!
Holy moly I did not expect such an immersive experience for free in Skyrim.
Glad I downloaded this on a whim. Felt like playing a whole different game.

If you read this and consider playing this, you should! However, do bring a buttload of lockpicks with you.
