Introduction
Welcome to my guide to the achievements in 8-Bit Adventures: The Forgotten Journey Remastered Edition. I've split the achievements into three parts chronologically - 7 optional story achievements, 11 location achievements, and 3 ending achievements. You can't get the location achievements until you have suitable transport, so you'll be starting with the optional story achievements as you play through the main storyline.

Beware that 4 of the optional story achievements are missable! These are marked with the word MISSABLE in blue to the right of the achievement image. If you don't get these you cannot return later in the game to get them.

Not included are the 3 levelling achievements or 16 automatic story achievements. You should get all of those automatically while playing.
1. Optional Main Story Achievements
Here are all the achievements you can pick up during the main plot, including all the missable achievements. The sidequest achievements can't be accessed initially, so you'll begin with these. Once you get the airship, you can access five of the sidequest achievements, and later on in the main story you can access all of them.

Friendly Advice
Get some friendly advice from Kelly at three specific times.
MISSABLE

You can find Kelly just north east of the water in the starting town Azureus. Talk to her three times: before anything, after the first invasion of dust, and again once you cleared it. You won't actually unlock this achievement first, but this is the one you need to start first.

Shades of Truth
Speak to all five Shades in the Ruined Castle, and learn their story.
MISSABLE

When you get to the Ruined Castle, just don't go to the boss battle until you've explored everywhere and spoken to all five of these guys. It's not a huge dungeon so it's pretty easy.

Critical Error
Find the Robot named Error.

When you go to the Factory, take the second left just after you walk in and speak to the first robot there.

Who Builds These Things Anyway?
Read all eight signposts in the Game Kid world.
MISSABLE

There are four in the first town, three in the main part of the second town and one at the exit to the second town. Get them as you go along, as you won't always be able to go back. You'll have to get the man a coffee for him to let you through to the last one.

Ancient Wisdom
Find and read all seven historical tablets in the Pyramid, and learn from past mistakes.

Pretty self explanatory. When you go to the Pyramid, explore each direction and you'll find them all.

Lali-No!
Talk to one particularly disgruntled Dwarf.

You'll visit the Dwarves during the storyline. He's the second dwarf you'll come to, standing just south east of the lava ring.

Night Owl
Catch the soldier looking for a late-night snack!
MISSABLE

When you go for a late night walk in Pheopolis castle, you'll come in from the right and be prompted to go upwards. Just go left first, and talk to the soldier there twice.

Once you've done these and gotten the Wind of Oris (or just the airship, which is good enough for five of them), you can go find the achievements in the next section.
2. Sidequest Location Achievements
Here we find various non-missable location based achievements. As you complete these, you'll pick up various pieces of Ultimate Equipment. You can do these at any time once you have the necessary transport, even after finishing the game if you don't mind replaying the final battle for The True Final Battle achievement.

You can do these achievements in any order, except for Best Left Buried which must come after A Pirate's Life for Me. Five of them can be done with just the airship - those ones are listed first.

The Curse is Lifted
Vanquish the horrible curse in the frozen North.

Visit the small town in the very north west of the snowy continent. Speak to the girl in the Inn. This achievement can be done with the airship.

The First Step's the Hardest
Take over 25000 steps and visit the Traveller.

You can view your stepcount in the menu. You should easily pass 25000 during normal gameplay. When you do, visit this guy on his island. You can find it by going to the western edge of the volcano continent and then heading south. This achievement can be done with the airship.

Venegance
Destroy the Sealed Demon.

You'll receive the key for this during the storyline, when you're about to leave Pheopolis. Go down the red tower basement and interact with the object on the table. There will be a cutscene and then a chance to leave and prepare before the battle. This achievement can be done with the airship.

A Four Course Meal
Feed the Hungry Soldier in Azureus.

The hungry guard is just east of the water in Azureus, and he'll want hot chocolate, steak, mushroom and cake. You can buy hot chocolate in the ice town Niveus. Steak is from the desert town Chryseus, although you might have one left over from a chest. Mushrooms are from Estriatus, and chocolate cake is from Pheopolis. This achievement can be done with the airship.

Deep Sea Diving
Get the three Water Crystals and save Bruneus!

Look for islands with a dark blue zone in the bay, and explore them until you find the blue diamonds. One is an ice island south of the ice continent between the Snowy Mountains island and the green tower. The crystal is to the very south of the area. Another one is a desert island south and slightly west of the starting town Azureus. The crystal is in the building to the north east. The third one is a volcano island to the north of the west edge of the volcano continent. Head north and west to reach the crystal. All of these islands can be reached with the airship, so you can complete this achievement with that if you want.

When you've got all three, bring them back to Bruneus, the town on a mountain in the brown wilderness zone, and talk to the mayor in the north east house to get your reward.

A Pirate's Life for Me
Defeat the Pirate Captain and take his treasure.

Go to the very eastern edge of the brown islands. A little way south of there is the desert island with the ship you're looking for. You'll need to fight pirates in both rooms, then the first mate, and then you can fight the captain. Once you have the gem you can unlock the quest for Best Left Buried.

Best Left Buried
Free the Sky Forge from the Dwarven Sentry!

Take the gemstone from A Pirate's Life for Me to the dwarf king, and then to the tower on the island to the west. Beat the boss at the top.

A Cold Truth
Read the three journal entries scattered across the Snowy Mountains.

Look for the island with a cave in some mountains on it, just south of the middle of the ice continent. There are two pages in the first part, then the rest of the journal through another cave. Carry on and beat the ghost to get Rest in Peace.

Rest in Peace
Defeat the Frozen Phantom.

In the same place as the A Cold Truth achievement, go and open the chest at the end of the area to trigger this battle.

Sunset Ruins
Find the treasure in the Overgrown Temple.

Go to the ruins on the island just east of the starting town Azureus. It's at the top, no boss fight.

Glitch 0x43
Defeat the Corruption.

Go to the wooded island east of Pheopolis and through the portal. Make your way through the glitch world and defeat missingno to get this achievement.

Once you've done all of these, you should have all but three pieces of ultimate equipment (the Knight's shield, the Thief's headband and the Mage's hat). You'll get these three in the final dungeon.
3. Ending Achievements
Legendary
Acquire every piece of Ultimate Equipment!

If you completed all the location achievements, you should already have all but three of these when you enter the final dungeon. You'll find the final three pieces on the 2nd/3rd/4th floors. Wear them all when fighting the boss to get...

The True Final Battle
Defeat the Final Boss while using every piece of Ultimate Equipment.

Pretty self explanatory. Good luck! Remember to use the Wind of Oris at first, then use elemental weaknesses, then just chuck everything you have at it. Make sure to have plenty of supplies.

Surprise!
Find and enter the Developer Room.

After the credits. you'll see the door open in the house just east of the lake on the green continent. Make the short journey south and east, and go on in for the final achievement and a lovely little bonus area. Thanks devs!

Some trivia things that might cause confusion with this guide:
1. The chocolate cake from Pheopolis is obtained by talking to a NPC in the dinning hall to left of the castle.
2. It seems there're only two ultimate equipments in the final dungeon. On 2nd/4th floor each.

Uhm. Sorry but where do I go after the Factory is taken over by the dust? There were no dialogues and I've been struggling to figure it out for an hour now. >_<

Many thanks! Having one of these with me when I play makes me a lot less paranoid about missing things.
