Sparks - Playing As, With, & Against
By Atkana
A guide on some of the things to consider about Sparks - with (hopefully) quick and concise points to skim through which are relevant whether you're playing as her, if she's on your team, or if she's on the enemy team.

Foreword
My experience using Sparks comes from playing in non-competitive games, almost solely using the Companion Agent loadout. Most of my ideals are from my personal views and experience using Sparks as my main character, and some are formed from what I've generally observed from the community. I won't be covering the basics of Sparks (e.g. "charge the REVIVR to revive your teammate with more health"), just providing some points consider whilst playing her/with her/against her. I've been slowly writing this guide for a while, but I thought seeing as she's in the rotation currently I should go ahead and finish it. I'm welcome to any feedback you might have in the comments :)
Playing As Sparks
  • You are not a fighter - Sparks has low health and weak guns. Your job is to keep the people with high health and strong guns alive so they can do the fighting for you. Use your guns for finishing, assisting teammates, and deterring enemies.
  • Oftentimes it's usually better to let teammates get downed - Sure, Sparks' small health packs are useful for instantly healing but they're slow, limited, and if you miss and nobody picks them up the health pack then the enemies can use them. Provided there isn't a great risk of your teammate getting finished, a faster way to get them to full health is to let them get downed and revive them. Best to hang on to those health packs to heal yourself.
  • If you find yourself fighting alone: run away - You're more useful to the team if you're alive to revive them, so run away if you come under fire. As the old saying goes "She who fights and runs away may live to revive their teammates so they can fight instead"... or something like that. Bonus points if you revive teammates to cover your retreat.
  • Try to predict when a teammate is going to get downed - Keep an eye out for teammates in situations where they might go down and pre-emptively begin tracking them and charging the REVIVR so you can revive them the instant they go down. This helps to keep up the pressure on your enemies and helps to avoid them finishing off your teammate before you can revive them. Just remember not to hold a charge for too long - you don't want to run out of charge.
  • Keep an eye out for vantage points - If you've got a good vantage point of your team's side of the battlefield (wherever that may currently be), you can take advantage of your ability to revive at range to keep the battle going.
Playing With Sparks
  • Keep the medic alive - (General medic tip) If the medic dies, they can't heal or revive you! See the enemy firing at the medic? Draw their fire. See a medic downed (and it's safe)? Help them up. See a writhing mass of downed teammates? Check for a medic and help them up first so they can revive the rest.
  • Don't dodge health packs - Sparks only has a small amount of healing to spare and if you're in need of healing it's imporant you pick up a health pack if Sparks misses you. Remember if you don't use it, your enemies might.
  • While this one isn't too serious/vital: Try to get downed in a good spot - You're far more likely to be successfully revived if you get downed in a spot that's easy for your Sparks to get a line of sight with.
Playing Against Sparks
  • Finish downed enemies - (General anti-medic tip) Finish downed enemies so they can't be revived. This is even more important versus Sparks as she can revive from a distance.
  • Focus the medic - (General anti-medic tip) If you can't reliably finish the enemy, there's not much point downing them when there's a medic nearby that can just revive/heal them. Kill the medic first and then the rest.
  • Sparks sucks at fighting (unless maybe she's sniping with the REVIVR) - Simple point to remember. If you see a Sparks on her own, you're more than likely to be able to outgun her.

Oftentimes is mispelled. Nice clean guide though, all it misses is more content and some pictures. Great work

Sparks is an absolutely amazing combat medic if you know how to use her properly to combo your revive gun and smg, even with just an smg she can take out except Rhino in most cases. She's very underestimated in a battle and you can use that to your advantage.

KEK-10 would be a HUGE buff to Sparks. It would to me pretty much make her the best medic in the game as she'd be good at fighting in any range and fast as hell. She's not suppose to be effective in frontline combat. She's suppose to stick back and keep people up with the REVIVR. The machine pistols are last ditch weapons which if combined with her fast movement can be effective, but obivously not good enough in an extended fight.

they should at least add the kek 10 to her loadout as most of the smgs for her is quite weak and hard to protect herself

Yeah, noob-sparks are easy to come by. They think that since they got instakilled by a REVIVR headshot it's easy to get kills. No, you have to get some serious skills to really play a good Sparks. Great guide!

One big tip, Use the dot crosshair, it makes sniping with the reviver gun a piece of cake imo

for some reason im actually good at fighting with spark, you just gotta learn how to run and gun, how to really flank with her, how to dodge using your momentum, and use your health pack on yourself a alot (only when you are trying to kill someone heavy like fragger or rhino).
