Shin Full Endings + CG Guide

A guide to getting all four of Shin's endings and all of his CGs. Also includes general tips for those who don't want a full walkthrough.

Introduction

This guide is the first in a series, intended to help you clear all four of Shin’s endings and every CG in the route. (Do note that even if you follow this guide, you'll still be missing the third-last one in his gallery; that's a special CG only obtainable in Ukyo's route.) First off will be some general gameplay advice, then some tips on dealing with Shin if you’re struggling but don’t want to use a full walkthrough. After that is a step-by-step guide to Shin’s good end, followed by instructions on how to get his three other endings. I hope you find this helpful, and do comment if you have anything to say!

General Tips

• I don’t think the options you choose before the route split matter terribly, but I’ll update this if I find out otherwise.
  
• It can often take a little while for your parameters to update after making a choice, so if you’re not sure you’ve picked correctly, it’s best to save before a choice and check what’s changed once you hit the next split or scene.
  
• Unlike some other visual novels, it’s entirely possible for your Affection and Trust to go down. This means you’ll sometimes be picking “safe” options which won’t appear to raise your parameters; this is because other options will wind up lowering them instead.
  
• Suspicion can also go up or down, and you’ll need to try keep it low for the Good End. To get the Bad End, raise suspicion while wearing Affection and Trust down. (Note that acting strangely around any character, not just your love interest, can raise Suspicion.) I’m not sure if there’s a hard and fast rule about Normal Ends yet, though, so just stick to consulting their sections.
  
• When reading the walkthrough, do note that not all endings require the same amount of choices. In particular, the full path to the Good End tends to have additional content.

General Tips on Shin

• Be straightforward and decisive rather than apologetic or complimentary. Shin is not particularly sentimental, and doesn’t care for clichés.
  
• When you remember something and Shin asks if you’re alright, always engage with the specifics of the memory. This usually means asking him about something in particular you remembered.
  
• Whenever the night of the accident comes up in conversation, try and make sure you’re asking the same questions and making the same claims as Shin so that you have a consistent story. Trust goes up when you appear to be on the same page as him in front of others.
  
• The nice thing about Shin's route is that Suspicion caps on the first day, which means you don't need to worry about alarming him. Feel free to answer the first few questions post-prologue however you would like.
  
• The choices you make during the training scene on 04/08 may seem irrelevant, but they affect your job performance the next day. Shin will be impressed if you do well.
  
• If, on 25/08, Shin asks you to distract Toma and you succeed in pulling it off, you’re on the right track for his good end.

Shin Good End: “I love you. I really love you.”

This walkthrough involves choosing almost every correct answer, so you can modify it accordingly if you’d like to shoot for Normal End or Bad End 2 later on.

Shin Normal End: “I will steal you away.”

There are almost certainly multiple ways to reach this ending, and it might take a little trial and error. You’ll probably be fine so long as you tread the middle ground between Good End and Bad End 2 while favouring the former, or just play somewhat naturally. In particular, telling Shin “I still need more time” on 10/08 is a good way to miss out on a chunk of points and content (including a CG or two) which you’d otherwise need. If you do that and answer maybe five other questions wrong – barring the job practice sequence on 04/08 and the interrogation on 13/08 – you should be alright. You’ll know you’ve gotten there when the conversation with Shin on the afternoon of 27/08 concludes differently, and you’ll get a different CG and epilogue.

Shin Bad End 1: “I’m not the culprit.”

A pretty straightforward bad ending, which just requires making a couple of wrong choices and can be done as part of any route. I even managed to snag it while gunning for Good, so just play normally until you reach 22/08 and save before the indicated choice.

Shin Bad End 2: “May you dream forever…”

Your goal here is essentially to erode your Affection and Trust meters as much as you can. Again, there’s almost certainly more than one way to do that, but you can’t really go wrong with choosing the options you didn’t select for the Good End. Three useful rules of thumb: act distrustful of Shin in front of both him and others, avoid being entirely honest with him, and hang out with Toma whenever possible. Do be careful of accidentally snagging Bad End 1, although it can easily be avoided by choosing to stay with Mine. You’ll know you’ve gotten there when you reach a different conversation with Toma on 27/08.

I have a question, I got Shin's good ending but some photos from the gallery are missing. Besides I was googling him and saw some kissing photos that are from the game but haven't got to my way. Is there kissing scenes on other routes also, and not only on good end?

How do you lower affection? I have no problem grinding down trust, but I can't seem to get my affection any lower and I end up triggering the normal end... I really want to unlock the bad end, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you for this. I still had problems getting Shin's second bad ending, may you dream forever. On 8/27 at the cafe when Toma approaches the MC and you can pick from the options "that wasn't the case yesterday" or "..." when I picked "...", I would still get the normal ending. I also picked to room with Toma on my successful playthrough instead of Mine.

I don't think you need to max out both Affection and Trust, but getting most of the answers right will put you in a far better spot for the Good End.
