As well if your tention goes to low you can always turn your rod to the side or even behind you (you turn 90 or 180 degrees) and then turn back slowly while reeling in your line.
the way you can "fix" your line not snapping is to get a stronger/thicker line. The reel can help out with reeling in quicker (look at the Gear Ratio and recovery)
