How to find and farm Rainbow Slimes

This guide will tell you where to find rainbow slimes and how to make a simple farm for them.

Introduction

You may want to find a rainbow slime for the gelatin world tour achievement or just farm them for the lovely rainbow bricks, if so this is the guide for you!

Where do rainbow slimes spawn?

Spawn conditions for rainbow slimes:

• Must be hardmode
  
• Must be raining
  
• The player must be in a hallowed biome
  
• Only spawns on non-hallowed blocks e.g. plain dirt or stone

Simple farm design

Materials:

• 80 Lihzahrd bricks or 80 mud+jungle grass seeds
  
• 100 Pink ice/Pearlstone/Pearlsand
  
• ~220 dirt
  
• A water candle

Build 50 blocks up from ground level then build a platform of dirt ~168 blocks long, it is recommended you do this in a lower part of your world so that harpies won't be spawning.
You can easily measure the 168 blocks by splitting off 168 blocks from your main pile with right click then placing those 168 until they run out. Take note of the midpoint (84 blocks along).

Now place the 100 hallowed blocks in a 10x10 square above the midpoint (you should here the hallow music playing now), also place the 80 mud/lihzahrd blocks above the midpoint.
If using the mud plant some jungle grass seeds on it to start growing jungle grass.



Once all mud blocks have jungle grass growing on them or if you used lihzahrd bricks you will have an artificial jungle biome (you should hear the jungle music playing) this will increase the spawn rate significantly.
Place a water candle to raise the spawnrate even higher, also make sure there are no npcs or sunflowers nearby lowering the spawnrate.

How to use the farm

1. When it starts raining go to the farm (rainbow slimes only spawn during rain)
2. Stand in the middle and use any weapon that can shoot off the side of the screen e.g. terra blade, most ranged weapons.
3. Shoot to the sides where mobs will be spawning just off screen
4. After a while go to the sides to collect your drops before returning to the middle to continue farming

* Battle potions will increase spawnrate further
