About the Java Requirement
Release date: Late 2015
Slipstream is an arcade-style checkpoint racing game. You drive across 15 different tracks and race against the clock to get to the finish line, while avoiding the traffic and obstacles along the way.

At the end of each track, the road splits in two different paths, allowing players to choose their next destination. The game takes place in a variety of exotic landscapes, including cities, mountains, forests, beaches and valleys, and features a simple yet challenging driving gameplay.

The colorful visuals are inspired by the atmosphere of 80’s and 90’s games such as OutRun, Daytona USA, Super Hang-On and Sonic the Hedgehog. The soundtrack also draws inspiration from that era, incorporating elements of synthpop and jazz fusion.

Slipstream owes its unique visuals in part to an authentic, old school style Pseudo3D rendering engine, developed specifically for this game. There are no 3D models or 3D engines: everything is done with 2D bitmap graphics, including the road. The power of modern hardware allows for improvements and extensions to this method that weren’t possible back in the day but, at the core, Slipstream works the same way old games did.

(NOTE: This game is under heavy development. The videos/screenshots in this page are demo footage and do NOT accurately represent the quality of the final product.)

As that one reporter guy from Fairy Tail has said many times, "SOOOOO COOOOOOL!"

I downloaded the demo for this, and it was very fun. It's easy to pick up, and easy to keep hitting that "arcade" button. I always have it set to "VHS 1" for that feeling of playing it on an old tube television. As a matter of fact, I have an old tube sitting in my room right now. It's an RCA Colortrak 2000. It still works, too

Seriously, I cannot wait for voting on this game. HOWEVER! Please do not rush-job this game, take your time to test the game and to clean up as many bugs that might be contained within the game, add the content you want to be in the game BEFORE you release it. I'm getting tired of people releasing games to Steam before they're even half-done.

For anyone wondering, backers are still receiving updated beta builds!
Unsure if the demo is getting updated, but the game development is progressing nicely.
Can't wait for it to be done :)
