One year from Greenlight
A birthday update!
New balance: Fear
The fear balance is here!
Make sure you keep your Pips healthy and safe, or their fears may start to make them act... weirdly.

All-new scrollable research tree
The research tree has been updated and redone, is now scrollable and the arrows work correctly.
In addition, all buildings now show their complete information.

Revised balancing and design
Game balance has been completely revised, with changes affecting all buildings and events, for a better.
Some small gameplay changes (such as Pips being stunned when they have no food) will go a long way towards balancing.
Event frequency and class have also been balanced to obtain a fairer game!

New Agepedia
The Agepedia got a complete overhaul and even shows additional information on terrains and game traits, as well as a button to access past hints.

Pip information and names
Pips now have their own randomized name and show more information, such as the number of turns they are left stunned.

New hints
Hints have been completely redone from scratch to be more informative, and many more have been added.

New pool UI
The pool is now more informative and shows how values will change at the next turn.

Better zooming
The new UI also brings with it improved zooming funcionality!

Interactive tutorial
Yep! By large request, I added an interactive tutorial to help newcomers.

A lot of new buildings!
A complete set of buildings has been added for the release (and their sprites are in progress)!
Also, the building traits system has been completely revised to be clearer and more balanced.

Dozens of new events!
A whole load of new events has arrived! We are at a quota of more than 100 events as of today! Cower in fear!

Building Menu
The radial building menu has been redone and now sports a lot of information to find what you need,
as well as showing info on all the different aspects of hovered buildings. No more guesses!

Title Screen
I also added a new title screen with more options and social buttons, as well as...

Difficulty support
.. difficulties! The game now sports difficulty levels: easy, normal, and hard.
These will affect event frequency and magnitude!

Revised Prediction and Balances UI
The UI that collects the elder's predictions has been redone with plenty of animations and feedback and should now be clearar.
The balances UI also had some more feedback added to it.

Highscores screen
I redesigned the highscore screen and it is now better visually and more informative.

Tooltips and better cursor
I hope you noticed in the screens... rejoice!
I added tooltips to everything, as well as giving visual hints when you can access the agepedia!

Localization support
It should be clear by now from the screens; all the game systems have
been rewritten to support localization and the game is now localized in English and Italian,
ready to be localized for other languages as well.

New event animations
All events have had their sequence, animations, and visuals updated or completely redone.

Special effects for buildings and pips alike
A set of special effects have been added for Pips and Buildings: burning Pips, flooded Buildings, plagued Buildings and so on!

Terrain statistics
Terrains now sport their own statistics, which will be used for specific game effects.

Revised all particle effects
All particle effects have been redone from scratch to bbe more compelling while still keeping the pixelated feeling!

Last, but not least, the end game has been created! The APOCALYPSE is a reality and will be the final test for your village! Will you be able to fight off the Apocalypse?

Try a classical village-sim gameplay in a turn-based fashion, reminiscent of European-style board games. In your minuscule and claustrophobic village, space is limited, so plan accordingly and be mindful of how buildings interact.

Build more than 70 buildings and produce more than 40 different resources, with full production chains from raw materials to finished products!

Plan and build your village: harvest crops, raise lifestock, mine iron, bake bread, weave clothes, craft tools, and much more!

Pips are the tireless workers that will accompany you throughout the game. They start out as children, but they will grow to become your friendly pals!
They can be assigned to buildings and take various jobs, but you must make sure they are happy and safe.
You will also raise friendly animals from birth, which will be useful to produce new and better resources!

Raise your Pips and Animals and keep them alive to sustain your village!

Your Pips start out with basic knowledge, but they are eager to learn!
Use Science to research new and better buildings, exploring the Research Tree.
You will encounter different buildings in each playthrough, adjust your planning and survive with what you are given!

Gather Science and plan your way in the always-changing Research Tree!

Is it all? Think you are far from any harm? Think again!
No Pip, animal, building, terrain, or resource is safe: the Fate System will make sure to poke at everything you hold dear.
Flames burning your villagers, water flooding your crops, quakes destroying your buildings, wolves, fear, sickness, madness... this is just the tip of the iceberg, everything will test your planning skills!

Pray, for Fate will mess with you at every step with more than 150 random events!

All is not lost! You are no ordinary village elder. You are a Seer who can predict what woes await.

The World Balance governs the state of the world and you can glimpse at it!
Four Balances govern the state of your village: Temperature, Serenity, Health, and Cataclysm.

The village delves deeper and deeper into the Dark Ages by shifts in the Balances! Bad events can be prevented through special buildings.

See the future through your visions and read the World Balance to react to what Fate has in store for you!

Where will I be able to play .Age?
The game will be available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

When will this be ready?
I'm still working on the game, the game is currently in an advanced alpha state (try it out!).
I'm working hard for a release in late 2015 on PC, Mac, and Linux.

Who are you?
My name is Michele and I am a postdoctoral fellow and freelance game developer in Bergamo, Italy, and I love (LOVE) cats.
.Age is my current pet project, stemming from my passion for village-sim games.
I created the design, code, and graphics of .Age, while the master composer Luigi di Guida made the music.
I've been working on this in my spare time for the last year and a half, I hope you'll like it!

There is a new beta, but limited to few people as I finish cleaning up the UI and the initial balancing, I plan to make a closed beta as soon as I am happy with these results to help with game balance!

I do not have a release date yet, but know that I am still working on .Age whenever I can, polishing, balancing, improving everything.

Currently, I'm working on balancing and on drawing all the different buildings, which now are all animated!

I am not aiming for a specific release date as my freelance work is taking a lot of my time, but keep following this and you will be notified when it is ready! I am working in the shadows, but .Age will come out! ;)

This looks promising, reminiscent of the early settlers games. I'm probably in for early access :)
