The Making of the Revolution - Coming Soon!
1979 Revolution: Black Friday
All Footage Shown is from pre-release Game Build

“We wanted change...we just didn’t know we’d have to set the world on fire to get it.”
Based on actual events and real testimonials, 1979 Revolution brings players into the brooding world of a nation on the verge of collapse. Play as Reza, an aspiring photojournalist, and make life and death decisions as you explore the bloodied streets of Iran in the late 1970’s.

iNK Stories combines critical choices, unique action-driven gameplay mechanics, with a distinct art style for an action-adventure experience set amongst tense world altering events.

1979 Revolution’s Black Friday is the first episode in iNK Stories’s player-driven narrative series. Deemed ‘a truly revolutionary game’ by The New Yorker and one of the ‘Best Ideas’ by TIME, in 1979 Revolution players get a first hand experience to discover the gritty realities of revolution. Rockstar Games Alumni Navid Khonsari, at the helm of iNK Stories, merges mature content with substance to indie gaming to bring “turbulent history to life” Mashable.

1979’s Talented cast includes Navid Negahban (Homeland, American Sniper), Farshad Farahat (Argo, 300: Rise of an Empire, State of Affairs), Omid Abtahi (Hunger Games, Better Call Saul, Argo), Bobby Naderi (Fear the Walking Dead, Taqwacores), Mozhan Marno (House of Cards, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Blacklist), Nicholas Guilak (Of Gods and Kings, 24), Ray Haratian (Argo, Sons of Anarchy), Mary Apick (Homeland, Beneath The Veil), Fariborz David Diaan (The Brink, Stoning of Soraya, Weeds).

  • CRITICAL CHOICES - An immersive story driven by decision making. Your choices matter and shape the very allegiances, relationships, and lives of those around you.
  • EXPLORATION - Explore Tehran, a city on lockdown including: covert headquarters, rioting protesters, and the streets of Tehran under Martial Law.
  • UNIQUE GAMEPLAY - Photography, Urban triage, emergent Quicktime Events plus many more story-driven game mechanics.
  • CINEMATIC STYLE - Full motion captured animation complete with actor performances. Painterly world and characters with cinematography in the tradition of 1970’s film.
  • KEY COLLECTABLES - Unlock the real stories behind the revolution. Discover and collect actual primary sources, compare your photographs to their archival originals, listen to audio cassette testimonials, propaganda messages and hear the personal histories of the Revolution.

Coming from Navid Khonsari, the director of GTA 5, 3, Vice City, and San Andreas and him also being Iranian himself, I don't think he's going to leave any aspect of the revolution out of this game.

Once in a blue moon you see a game on greenlight that looks like it actualy has potential, this one looks like it does, I just hope that the developers dont shy away from the mature concepts that will inevitably be introduced from the theme they chose, this could be a great game and I wish the developers well.
