The Method
I'd been pulling my hair out over this achievement forever. Like many others, I followed all the videos and tips out there, with zero luck and 100% ragefist.

Eventually I stumbled over a completely different method that's so stupidly, ridiculously simple that it would be a shame to not share it. It legitimately uses the game's physics as well, so there's no cheating or console use.

I'm sure some people might consider it cheating on principle, but I see it more as a shortcut. Of course I'd say give the "correct" ways a shot first, but if you're like me and already tried the standard methods WAY too many times for it to be fun anymore, this will save you further aggravation.

What To Do:
Toward the beginning of the game, there's a red button on the ground that you need to use a rock to activate. It's right after the first forcefield. Above that button is a halfway-open hatch with some junk parts stuck in the tube preventing it from closing.

All you need to do is fly up and prop open the hatch cover. Here's a visual:

"Balance" it like that long enough and the achievement is yours. Enjoy. :)

It works better on the hanging door after the first down tube.

This doesn't work (anymore?), unfortunately.

No way. That is awesome. I never knew you could do this with the hatches.
I did this achievement with the small glass orbs with the directional mirrors in them. They're very light-weight so it's easier to balance them.

Still, this is really cool, thanks for sharing this!
