Canabalt Complete Achievement Guide
By Eggs
Hello there!

I noticed that there were zero guides for this game so I thought I'd compile a guide for the game to save you from having to browse through the forums to find the information you're looking for.

Basic info you may need:
When the game achievements say "Complete the ________ Challenge" the "Challenge" is referring to the minimum distance required to get the achievement. This distance is listed when you select the level you want to enter, it's in the small box on the bottom left of the screen below the listed world name.

There is a section at the bottom of this guide for help with the Two Player achievements.

I've written this guide in order of easiest to hardest.
(I've based the level of difficulty on the global achievement status of the game)

If you have any questions or need help please message me!

A Dashing Entrance
The first achievement is a A Dashing Entrance.

To achieve this simple jump into a glass windowed hallway. The timing of this can be difficult but with a few tries it will come natural.

If you want to practice go to the Defenestration level, it's full of windowed hallways.
Sky Walker
This achievement is unlocked by jumping on a Walker leg.

It's a lot easier if you have your audio on as you can hear the leg coming down through your speakers to warn you of the coming doom.

Practice this at the Invasion level.
Look Out Below
Toss 50 obstacles out of your way

Run into 50 boxes/washers/whatever.
You'll likely get this achievement if you play the game for more than 10 minutes.

If you want to rush it then go to the Box Tripper level and just run into all the boxes. (Granted you'll die a lot, it's still the fastest way to get the achievement)
A Single Bound
Jump clear over a building and survive

The easiest place get this achievement is at the Panic level, IMO. Get enough speed, around 700 meters typically, run up to a billboard, and then hope theres a close enough landing on the other side.

It will take a couple of runs and a bit of luck but it's pretty easy.
Leap of Faith
Complete the Leap of Faith challenge
Distance: 1000m
The leap of faith challenge is the easiest of the challenges. Simply look where the birds are sitting and land there. Try to remember where the last bird was sitting so you remember where to leap from.
Box Tripper
Complete the Box Tripper challenge
Distance: 1000m
While boxes may be your friend on Origin or other levels, on Box Tripper they are your enemy. If you hit too many boxes you will lose too much momentum and you'll drop right in between the buildings without enough speed. Avoid the boxes at all cost, it's only 1000m, man.
Invasion
Complete the Invasion challenge
Distance: 1000m
This one can be tricky. In this level make sure you have your volume up so you can hear the Walkers legs coming in. Sometimes you'll just want to jump clear over the legs instead of landing on them, but if you're not past 1000m you won't likely make the jump. Just play a few rounds to get the feel of where the legs land, in the middle of the old structure it crushed, and you'll get the achievement.
Purity
Complete the Purity challenge
Distance: 3000m
I don't know why this one is so far down the list.
There is nothing on the level, no boxes, no legs, just buildings. 3000m isn't long at all if you don't have weird obstacles dropping, jumping, or falling in your way. Just play, it won't take you 3 minutes.
Welcome to Erf, The Runslinger, Volcano Base, Drill Fortress, Dome City
These achievements unlock around ever 5000m. For me the Welcome to Erf achievement unlocked at around 5500m.
I unlocked these at the Origin level, I ran into every box at every chance I got.
You'll see the objects in the background.

Welcome to Erf
Find the Mothership
Distance: ~5000m

The Runslinger
Find the Dark Tower
Distance: ~10000m

Dome City
Find the Dome City
Distance: ~15000m

Drill Fortress
Find the Drill Fortress
Distance: ~20000m

Volcano Base
Find the Volcano Base
Distance: ~25000m

Thanks to Nocturne for the screenshots and general info!
Bombardment
Complete the Bombardment challenge
Distance: 2000m
Here's another level you'll want your speakers on for. There is a whistle you'll here of the bomb falling, just be ready for it. You'll want to make sure you don't bump into too many boxes or else you won't have enough speed to clear the bombs.
Fractured
Complete the Fractured challenge
Distance: 2000m
Do not hit a single box here or you will not have enough speed to clear the falling buildings.
Panic
Complete the Panic challenge
Distance: 2000m
Complete opposite of the Fractured achievement, try to hit every box you can.
This achievement took me around 15-20 minutes to get.
There is quite a bit of luck involved with this achievement as some levels will have tons of windows, walker legs, falling buildings, etc. and others will be a simple walk in the park.
Getting lucky with the map generation is more important than your own skill, IMO.
Escape
Complete each of the challenge districts

Do all of challenges for One Player.
2 Player Achievements
If you are a loner then worry not because both players do not have to reach the targeted goal it is the combined distance of both that only needs to be reached. Also, if one of the players die the game continues on with the remaining player.

For example

One player Achievement:

Leap of Faith
Complete the Leap of Faith challenge
Distance: 1000m
To complete you much reach 1000m

Two player Achievement

Leap of Faith (2P)
Complete the Leap of Faith challenge with two players
Distance: 1000m
To complete this both players combined distance must equal 1000m or more.
Meaning that if playing Two Player both players need only go 500m.

First Players distance: 500m + Second Players distance: 500m= Combined distance: 1000m

So if you are playing Two Player mode alone you can still unlock these achievements.

Example:

First Player distance: 1000m + Second Players distance 0m = Combined distance 1000m

That being said, I will admit that it's a heck of a lot easier, and a lot more fun, playing with a friend.

UPDATE: It should be mentioned that the 2P achievement for Half Marathon and Marathon are hidden and so you may have completed most of the visible achievements and still be missing these. Half Marathon (2P) and Marathon (2P) act the same as other 2P achievements It's the combined distance of the two runners that unlocks the achievement.

The distances for Half Marathon and Marathon are listed below.

(Thanks to Polypinoon for pointing this out!)
Half Marathon, Marathon
My advise for getting these achievements is this: Play, like, a lot. More than I have.
I don't know for sure if these unlock at maps other than Origin, but honestly why would you even try?
Origin gives you the best chance, IMO.

Here are the distances.

Half Marathon
Distance: 21,097m
Marathon
Distance: 42,195m

Anyone have tips for 2P marathon? The acceleration after a player dies is absolutely insane in 2P

Just got Marathon as well as the Dome City, Drill Fortress, and Volcano Base achievements on a challenge map, so I can confirm that they count. I found the "Bombardment" challenge much easier than usual.

For achievement Look out Below I would recommend challenge called Box Tipper. It is much easier than as there are so many things lying.

+1 to achieving long runs via the "Bombardment" challenge. Very simple jumps, just be sure to manage your speed by running into boxes. I also recommend listening carefully for the sound that warns you the next building is about to be bombed. It can help to set the music volume lower than the sound volume. When the sound plays, jump off your current building a little early to land on the next building as far left as possible. This gives you plenty of space to jump over the bomb. Good luck :beatmeat:

So I gotten Volcano Base achievement when I passed the "Dome City" in the background as pictured, at ~15k.

Somehow managed to find the mother ship in Panic just below 2km on two player. ._.

I had better luck at the "A Single Bound" acheivement by leaping off a rising girder when it was really high. If the next building is small enough, you can clear it entirely and the extra distance from being high off the girder really helps with that.

I don't believe there's a map requirement for where you achieve the distance achievements. You just need to reach that number. If you can do it better at another map then do it there.

Let me know if it doesn't unlock for you though! I'll be sure to update the guide.
