How to defeat the Dark King.

Unless you are at your wit's end when confronting the Dark King, avoid this guide as it contains spoilers and unlocking the Force Knight will be more satisfying figuring it out on your own. This is by no means a fancy guide but since I found no information anywhere on the net regarding the Dark King, I found it necessary. I hope it helps you and if you don't already own One Way Heroics PLUS, it is well worth the $6.99! You get the DRM-free Playism version and a Steam key for the future release of OWHp which offers as much enjoyment and replayability as a $60 game IMO. Ciao! :)

In 400 words or less...

To unlock the Force Knight: you have to add the Force Knight quest giver to your starting castle, talk to her, and clear four temples. I won't go into detail on those prerequisites since the game already instructs you in how to do so.

1) The most important tip in defeating the Dark Knight is hinted at in-game: to force him into the dark. This is achieved by waiting to place the soul shards on the last temple's altar until the advancing darkness is almost touching the left side of the temple. When you place the shards on the altar, four Dark Knights and the Dark King will appear. Instead of fighting them, use your Awakening (the more in your inventory, the better) to stop time and quickly exit the temple leaving the Dark King trapped inside. After he is damaged, fight him outside as a normal boss.

2) Having a Floating Drug really assisted me in this boss fight since I was able to avoid a lot of the Dark King's lightning damage by levitating off the ground. In addition, it helps to be able to stun or root him so he will repeatedly be swallowed by the advancing darkness; it took three times to significantly weaken the Dark King enough for my Knight to finish him. Be sure to stock up on healing-energy-stamina potions, buffs, and special attacks for this fight because the Dark King is harder then the Demon Lord. I also didn't have the benefit of additional party members because they died before I reached the last temple. Fortunately, I had a save file (near the Foreign Country fortress where I could buy something random) five minutes away from this boss fight, but I must have failed 15 to 20 times before achieving a very satisfying victory. I'm gonna be a bit more honest here and say this boss is a joke. I've found that the tip they give has never helped me even once. I've beaten this boss with the bard for crying out loud. Sure he has a lot of health to tank with, but that is about it honestly. Also as long as you aren't running from fights too often tanking his force lightning attack isn't difficult whatsoever.

Really easy to beat him as adventurer with Stamina herbs. Just get 1 tile from darkness and jump, rinse and repeat. Consume Stamina herbs as needed.

Beat him as pirate on the first try because...the terrain right after the temple was a coast so all I had to do was to get him trapped in the water and run away.

I was sword master class while beating this quest, and all i can say is:
have a parchement of squall, a magic bridge and a teleport pill ready.

-The parchement of squall to push the dark king into the darkness.
-Teleport pill to teleport away so you have an emergency escape.
-magic bridge to increase your evasion while standing on it.

And an added bonus would be a bracelet of destruction for melee classes.

Usely I just use a trainer braclet and over power him if no valut I use a ally from the campain. First time I beat him was with a knight I had 3 bombs on me which I used to atke out the little gusy around him and I had gotten a spear of cancel focuse to block his spells and just slowly killed him

Do their really no stragy in this game if you play anof you get this stuff put in your mind I have well over 300+ hours proble sence I bought it when it first came out. I already beat the game and didn't take any items from the orignal sence I have no idea how to. I hope someone out their find a world with a holy shrine close to the begging sence it was a liveing nightmare find a holy spear to attack the darkness good lord the hours wasted going threw world after world for that spear.
