This is my first guide and I created to so people wouldn't need to travel the map by chance.

yeah old games used to do stuff like this as a form of DRM. If you lost the instructions you could

be really screwed for playing the game.

The maps are in the instructions but I thought that it would more handy to access them this way.
although I did own the original game and had lost the instructions and it became exactly what you described.
