Using AutoTileGen with RPGMaker
This is a quick start guide to get AutoTileGen tiles working in RPG maker in a few minutes.

Before starting, it's strongly recommended to read this article[blog.rpgmakerweb.com] about how the RPGMaker autotile system works, specially to make the tile seams fit correctly.

First of all, open AutoTileGen and create your tileset. Save it as a "compact" tileset (just hit the "Save" button) and copy the output png file to your rpgmaker project folder.

After that open RPGMaker and go to "tools/resource manager". Once in there, select the folder "Graphics/Tilesets", click on "Import...", browse to your RPGMaker-prepared tileset and select it.



Now go to "tools/database" and select the "tilesets" tab.

If you have the free version you may need to clear an existing tileset in order to make room for yours. Clear a tileset or make a new one and then click on the "A2 (Ground)" slot, then select your tileset. You should see something like this:



Go back to RPGMaker main window. Right click on the project name in the lower left part window and select "New Map...".

In the new map window select your tileset and click "Ok".

You should be able to use your tileset. Just select the tile and drag around to draw your map:



If you want to add diferent kinds of tiles in your tilesets you will need to append them one after another in your graphics editing software as shown in the RPGMaker included examples.
