Interest / Type List

This guide is an ongoing project to catalog how each charcter type reacts to each interest. There are over 600 interests in the game, so this is far from complete.

This guide originally had charts of the known interests that each type could have after the interests list. Since the list is becoming so massive, I've decided to move the charts to their own guide, which you can find by clicking here .

What this Guide Contains

This is my effort at making a guide that lists what interests in the game correspond to what type of people there are in the game. The way I got this information is by writing down the interests of my clients, then noting what type Kitty says they are after they give their information. Also, given the information that auntierich, a dev, gave us in a the forum post quoted in the section directly below this one, I am gathering interests by noting which ones my clients like or love during the date conversations. Obviously, this is a pretty big project and will take me quite a while a to finish. Still, I hope that it will be somewhat helpful to some in the meanwhile.

Each of the interests are listed alphabetically, along with how a known type feels about them. Note, some interests can be shared by more type, so even if I've listed an interest it doesn't mean the type information is complete!

I've done some careful thinking, and I've decided to not accept help in collecting the data for this guide. The main selling point of this guide is that the information was gathered directly from Kitty herself, and is therefore reliable. The problem is that if I accept help, I don't know for certain how the contributor got their information. Was it from a person that was in the little black book, but that they are sure is a certain type? Maybe a client's date said they were at a certain event in the "find me in picture" minigame, so that means they must be a certain type? If the contributor happens to make a mistake, then bad information would be introduced to this guide, and I would have no way of knowing it or cleaning it up. I'd rather have confidence that this guide is as accurate as possible rather than completed as soon as possible, and the only way I can insure that is to collect the data myself. I mean no offence to anyone that wants to help, and I am probably erring on the side of being too protective. It was not an easy choice, but I am confident that it is the right one for me and hopefully for the integrity of this guide.

Is This Guide Useful Ingame?

You betcha!

When you send your client out on a date and time comes to spin the wheels of the slot machine, one of the options that can come up is "Interests". Your client has to correctly pick out one of thier date's interests (so remember or write these down when you are in the agency screen!), and then they will have a reaction that affects how much they like their date. Their date will also respond to your client's interests.

Knowing how your client and thier date might respond to each other's interests can be very useful in having a successful date. If you happen to be dealing with a fussy VIP, it can be critical to maximize create the best impression possible. Also, knowing which interests to avoid discussing can be quite beneficial as well.

So, how do interests/types work anyways?

Omg Omg Omg you guys! I posted about this guide in the steam forums and got a response from the man behind the woman we all love, auntierich, AKA Kitty Power her/himself! *Breath normal breath normal breath normal THUD*

Anyhoo, auntierich was kind enough to share some information about how the interests system works in this game. So here it, in the words of one my most favoritest devs in the whole world:

One point to note, each 'interest' has 5 grades per 'type' (-2 to +2 or hate, dislike, indifferent, like and love).

I.e. 'collecting buttons' is rated '+2' for vintage types (they love it), and -2 for edgy types (they hate it).

If an interest has a score of +1 (like) or +2 (love) for a particular type then there is a *chance* that a customer of that type will have that interest, but they are twice as likely if they have a +2.

The same probability scores also define how they will react when that interest is presented to them in conversation, so even if it is not in their top 3 likes, they can still 'love' another customer's interest.

There are over 600 interests, each with 10 ratings (for the ten types) so I would think twice before trying to catalogue them all!

You know what that means? Do you?! It means the flesh and blood Kitty Powers told me that VINTAGE TYPES COLLECT BUTTONS! Life doesn't get much more awesome that this, my friends.

Also, it means that if your client's date happens to have an interest that you know your client's type can also have, then your client is sure to either like or love the topic even if they don't have it themselves. For example, if you have your hippy type out with say an edgy who is interested in paganism, you can be sure that your client will respond favorably to this interest regardless of what their own interests are, since the hippy type can also have the paganism interest.

It also means that if your client likes or loves a particular interest that their date reveals during conversation, then the type of that client can also have that interest even if your specific client doesn't have it. After some thought, I have decided to use this as a data collection method for this guide, since the logic behind this method was given by a dev.

I've decided to take a stab at noting how each type rates each interests. As autierich notes, this is a massive undertaking and will not be done for at least an eon. Still, even incomplete it should be of some use, hopefully.

How This Guide Works

I've decided to also keep track of how well a known type, (that is, my client) responds to various interests when the interests topic comes up during a date. What does this mean exactly?

As quoted above, each type grades each interest on a 5 point scale.

If you see an interest that is marked with "Loved By" whatever type, then that type will respond very well to that interest in conversation, and also that their type can have that interest themselves. This corresponds with +2 on on the grade scale.

If you see an interest that is marked with "Liked By" whatever type, then that type will respond well to that interest in conversation, and also that their type can have that interest themselves. This corresponds with +1 on on the grade scale.

If you see an interest that is marked with "Enjoyed By" whatever type, then that type will respond well to that interest in conversation, and also that their type can have that interest themselves. That interest may be loved by that type, but I have not confirmed that yet.
This corresponds with either +1 or +2 on on the grade scale.

If an interest is marked with "Neutral For" whatever type, then that type will not care about that interest either way, and also that their type can never have that interest themselves. This corresponds with 0 on on the grade scale.

If an interest is marked with "Disliked By" whatever type, then that type will not respond well to it should it come up in conversation and can never have that interest. This corresponds with -1 on on the grade scale.

If an interest is marked with "Hated By" whatever type, then that type will have a very negative reaction to it should it come up in conversation and can never have that interest. This corresponds with -2 on on the grade scale.

When a player chooses "interests" at the slot machine, the game includes two incorrect interests in the list that the player has to choose from to talk about. As far as I can tell these are real interest that are actually in the game, just ones that the character in question doesn't actually have. Similarily, guilty pleasure are real interests that the character's type doesn't usually have, though they are in the game as well. I've decided to keep track of these interests that I don't have any other information for, other than that interest exists in the game. Interests that I've found this way will simply be marked "Unknown Type".

The Interest / Type Charts Moved

I wrote this at the top of this guide, but realized it might be a good idea to repeat it in the place where the charts used to be.

This guide originally had charts of the known interests that each type could have after the interests list. Since the list is becoming so massive, I've decided to move the charts to their own guide, which you can find by clicking here .

Hey abenlen, as far as I got with the game and interesst, yet, there are not only interesst depending on type, but also in character. so an activ person would most likely love all sports, a socialite would like cocktailbars, partys and maybe this flashmob thats in your list (havn't seen that one yet). I may be wrong about this, but I managed to match up a lot of clients this way just by guessing which of the dates known intresst might fit the client's traits as far as I knew them. Maybe, though I were just lucky.
