Intro
Hello everyone!

I notice a lot of people who play Nosgoth form some pretty bad habits when they first start out that will absolutely cripple you later on in the game, when you are playing against some high level teams. I am writing this to point out some of the habits so people are more aware and can hopefully stop doing them.

LoS = Line of Sight (what you can see)
CC = Crowd Control (movement or ability disabling effects - grabs, stuns, etc.)
AoE = Area of Effect (refers to abilities that affect a wide area)
Humans!
First and foremost this is not a FPS and if you solo hero, you are doomed.

  • 1) Keeping in LoS of your teammates. It's perfectly okay and encouraged to push out a little and poke, but stay in line of sight and support your team, otherwise you will just become a snack.

  • 2) Support your team, Shoot that reaver who is pouncing your ally, shoot that bird who grabbed another human. You need your team, so don't let the vampires CC them all.

  • 3) Look at your composition. If your team is running 3 alchemist and the other team has some Sentinels, there is a problem. Swap out to a class who can deal with the birdy.

  • 4) Heal, whenever there is a spare moment take that heal. Humans are not deprived of healing station so even if you are only missing 200 health, heal!!! Remember to support other members who need a heal as well, don't let them become a snack. An advanced tactic here is to have a full health person go to the healing station first to bait out any vampire looking for some fast food.

  • 5) Don't chase kills!!!! This is by far the hardest thing to stop doing. Just remember this Vampires don't have health stations their regen can only go so far, so there is no need to chase that guy who is pulling you away from your team while his friends mop up. Support the team. I know this is tough, I myself still chase from time to time, because Dammit that guy is not getting away from me. All you need to do is remind yourself his time will come and go back to your team.

  • 6)Spread out! As human you need to use your range to your advantage. If you are all clumped up all the vampire cleaves and AoE's will get multiple hits, you don't want that. Spread out and remain in line of sight. You will non-stop hear stick together in the lower brackets but this literally means stay in line of sight. The golden rule is to always have 2 humans in your Line of Sight

  • 7)This game requires Audio, every single vampire has an audible queue before an attack goes off. This also applies to footsteps if you ever wonder how that human was able to turn and shoot you as a deceiver, that because he listened to the footsteps.
Vampires!!
  • 1) Coordinate! You feel so powerful as a vampire when you start out, but remember the humans have range. If the humans are good shots they will melt any solo vampire quickly. Coordinate with the vampire and go in together so the humans can't pick you off one by one.

  • 2) Hit and run, it's not just for reavers and sentinels all vampires should get in do a couple hits and get out. Don't give the humans time to focus fire you. All vampires should basically be played as Ninjas

  • 3) Positioning! Don't just cast a spell or fly where every human can see you, stay stealthy! Don't give them any free damage. Flyers don't just fly aimlessly and think you are unhittable. Be like a ninja use your attack move to get into proper position then all attack together, try not to let the humans see where you are coming from.

  • 4) Support the team, Body block and body swap with other low hit point vampires to get kills without losing anyone. Learn the right time to take a shot for an ally and when it's a bad time.

  • 5) Share the food!! Don't eat the food if you have way more health than your ally, let him have it. If you are a summoner and the tyrant on your team has the same low HP you do, you better give him that damn snack! He is going to make the opening for you and your minions.

  • 6) Make all your attacks count. You don’t always need to fully charge melee attack to hit someone sometimes it better to use it to get out. You can turn while in a melee attack, use that to your advantage. Attack behind an obstacle to break LoS of the Humans and get a better attack in.
Ending Statement
Feel Free to add anything else in the comments. I will check back regularly and add ones that are really good. If anyone is interested in any other types of guides let me know and I can most likely get requested guides up fairly fast.

Until then happy hunting!

Now i know all this and i tell you its all true but the problem is you still get those anonymous people who are just stupid and they are the ones you have to keep an eye REMEMBER your team is only as good as its worst player so if you are not too good at nosgoth let your team take the lead and dont just charge in and die.
