the newbs guide to robocraft.

this guide will hopefully teach you about Robocraft,
we will cover how to advance through the low tiers and to be a good low tier player.

first login

when you log into robocraft for the very first time you will be greeted with a premade robot, a few things in your inventory, 250RP and 100GC.
you start off with 3 garages, press G to switch garages. the first garage is where your starter bot lives. garages 2 has a platform but 3, however, is empty.

Cube depot and inventory

The cube depot is where you buy and sell numerous different things, press C to access the cube depot.

Press Q to access your inventory, this is where you can use all the goodies you have gotten from the cube depot.
a first time user has these things in his/her inventory.

practice

i personally reccomend that you go into practice mode first to get a hang of the controls. simply press E then choose Practice.
if you flip over then dont worry, press F to flip back over. but be warned, you cant shoot while flipping.
once you have driven your bot around and gotten used to the controls you can press ESC then click Back to mothership to return to the garage.

first battles

now i bet your eager to jump into some battles, well, wait no more. Press E choose Battle online to begin. you will have to wait in the queue for a small amount of time, usually a few seconds.
once you are in a battle you will get to see what class the robots are. in T1 there is 2 types of weapon you can encounter. X means SMG and a circle means plasma. when the countdown ends you will be able to move around and admire your teammates bots for a short time. now its time to fight, try and stick with other T1's in a group because you will have more chance of survival.
when you encounter an enemy aim for his/her weapons first so he cant shoot back. then smash his remaining cubes until he/she is dead.
dont be to sad if you die, its your first game and the bot you have is not the best ever...

Tech tree

the tech tree is where you unlock new parts for your robot, parts that are stronger than your current ones or new weapons all together.
the battles you just did should have gotten you a fair amount of TT (tech tokens) also known as TP (tech points)

how to get TT

in T1 the best way to get TP is to spot, look at an enemy and press Q, if you are the first person to spot the enemy, you will get 1 TT.
killing bots will also grant you 2 TT.
assists are granted when you do 25% or more damage to an enemy but dont get the kill, this grants 1 TT.
winning a round will grant you 5 TT.

what to unlock first

from the battles you did you should have somewhere between 10-20 TT, if you dont thats all good, just play some more rounds and spot the enemies.
first of all unlock the Enemy radar, this will allow you to see where enemies are on your minimap, within a certain radius.
after that unlock the T1 armored cube. this has better protection than light chassis cubes.
unlock the thruster next, it will allow you to go faster and have better acceleration.
if you have any TT left, unlock the other T1 armored parts. (prism, tetra and inner)
then save up for the front mounted gun T2, then the top mount.
lastly get the T2 wheels.

lastly

notice how the star has a 1 in it, this means you need T1 tokens, if it has a 2 in it you need T2 tokens.

Building your own bot

you might have noticed your starter bot died very quickly, this is because the seat is exposed.
for this quick build guide i will have a tech tree that looks like the image.

quick note: press X to activate mirror building.

dont destroy your starter bot, instead take the guns and the headlamp off the bot.
now press G and go to garage number 2 and delete the frame that is there.
first of all you want to place a seat down, place it in the middle of the arrow, note that the arrow is the front of the bot.

Building the bot

then press > to bump the seat up 1 block.
go to the cube depot and buy 30T1 cubes.
build a cage around the seat like so,

Building the bot part 2

then build some supports with the remaining T1cubes
put the steering wheels on the end of the supports.
then fill in the remaining spots with light chassis cubes and light chassis prisms
then add the thrusters and the blocks where shown

try and make the back look like this

add T1 smgs and a T1 radar where shown
if you can afford it get 1-2 T2 smgs instead of T1 smgs

Building the bot part 5

add some headlamps for decoration

take the bot to practice, if it handles well then its time to test it in a real battle, return to mothership and enter the queue. you should find that you last MUCH longer in battle than the starter bot.

Getting to T2

the bot we built in the section above is capable of getting to T2.
simply upgrade all the white blocks to T1 armor and upgrade 5 T1 smg's and you will be in T2
i would recomend staying in T1 until you are lvl 10 and have unlocked everything on the tech tree for T1.

Whats new in tier two

what new things will i see in T2?

in T2 there will be a class of weapon with a triangle, this is a railgun. stay behind cover if one of these is hunting you because they pack a devistationg amount of damage.
hovering vehicles will become MUCH more common in this tier as T2 is where you unlock the first tier of hoverblade.
there will also be lots more of the blue shiny things you saw in T1, these are called electroplates, these are the sheilds of robocraft.
on occasion you might see catapiller tracks, these however are not unlocked until T3.
SMG's will grow larger in this tier as well, meaning we will have to rebuild our bot to fit them.
when playing in T2 you will also get T2 TT instead of T1.
you might rarly see a flier in T2 as well, wings are unlocked at T4 so these fliers will be tiny.

be warned

plasma launchers and railguns pack a large amount of damage in this tier, try stay away from plasma. avoid the railgunners and get close to them, they do not have stong vehicles in T2 because they would be in T3.

T2 hover vehicle

so you have unlocked these new things called hoverblades, lets build a bot with them.
once again i have everything unlocked with T2 tokens i can. but for some reason you can unlock T3 thrusters and hoverblades with T2 tokens so for now i will use T2 blades and thrusters.

step 1

buy 30 T2 blocks and place them like so

place hoverblades, electroplates and blocks where shown

add the blocks and guns where shown

add thrusters here

take it into practice, if it handles ok then take it into battle

note

this vehicle tends to flip, dont worry about that, juet keep going
just remember the controls will be inverted when you flip

refitting your car

as you have most likly found out, T3 smgs are bigger than T2's so our car is going to need a refit.
first of all we will refit the lower side guns







now the back guns









and lastly the front guns

ILLUMINATI (getting to T3)

getting to T3 is actually very easy if you build the hoverbot i showed you.
simply replace the guns with T3 versions of them and your in T3.
although i would replace the cubes befor you tier up.

what can i expect in T3?

T3 is the first tier that medics will show up in, they can heal your bot back to 100% if you get damaged.
T3 is also the tier where you unlock tank tracks and plasma launchers.
you can also get T3 jammers in this tier.
they will stop enemy radars from detecting you.
