Knee Mortar!

This guide will show you how to use the Knee mortar more effectively

The Knee Mortar

Pretty much the japanese made a Grenade mortar in ww2 i could just COPY and paste from the Wiki but thats not what this guide is for


This Guide is to help you USE it more effectively!

The how to

There is two ways of ranging in the knee mortar either :

Direct fire ( point and shoot )










or Indirect Fire where the round falls from above ( you scroll the mouse wheel )



You get a lovely Yellow GUIDE LINE ( its not pin point accurate! )

Direct Fire

Pretty self explanatory! Point aim slightly ABOVE the area you want to hit!


(This would not reach the 150m to the cap more like 50m)
(To hit the cap i would have to aim roughly at the top of the tree branches)

Direct Fire mode is BEST for when you can SEE what you want to hit and change the angle on the fly!

Indirect Fire

Now here is where a few things FACTOR into using the knee mortar

• Are they in Cover?
  
• Do you have a range helper? ( ill show in a screenshot )
  
• How fast are your men going to get to the Area your shooting?
  
• Is the enemy advancing to you? ( in which case you have to lead them )

As you can see i've RANGED my mortar (by scrolling the mouse wheel) to 150m ( the objective is 151m AKA : Range helper )

Now most people would say "yeah thats close enough" but they dont factor in the mortar ROUNDS SPREAD ( they have a 5m - 20m spread ) so ranged at 150m i have a chance of hitting 130m!
(which is on their heads on in this map )

Ranged	Spread	Effective
150m	5-20m	130-170m
120m	5-20m	100-140m

range it to 150 get kills that say 130...i did this a LONG time ago...im sure thats how i figured it out

how do you know, that there is a spread range and that accurate?

Nice - having your TM use Z to spot is helpful. I tend to walk the mortar ranges back and forth as wel.
