How to create Death Row Prisoners using the save file.

A simple guide on how to set death row prisoners.

In this guide I will explain and show you how to set your own death row prisoners from your regular Minimum, Medium and Maximum security prisoners. I will also be showing you how to add Death Row Prisoners to your Intake pool. If you want to check it out, here is the youtube video for this guide:

As you will be editing the save file, I recommend saving 2 copies of your prison before you start just in case you corrupt one.

Setting Death Row Prisoners

*MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SAVED 2 COPIES OF YOUR PRISON*

As a start, you will want to get into your save file. You need to go into your File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (MAC) Locate the save folder in C:\Users\*NAME*\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\saves. Your folder should look like this:

Of course its going to look different because you have different prisons. But select the prison you want and open it with a word formatter (for the love of god dont use MS Word!). Notepad will work. Once you are in there, you will want to go back to your prison, find the prisoner you want to convert, click on him and find his Prison ID right here:

Write either his number or surname down on a piece of paper or something so you dont forget, close down your game and go back to your save file. Do Ctrl+F and type down his number. Press Find Next and click it until you get a screen that looks like this:

Find the 'Category' and change it to: DeathRow

Scroll down and find 'NextParole' and whatever it says, change it to, 'Failed'. Then under that you will want to write ClemencyChance 0.[ ]. In the square brackets, you may put any number from 0-99 in. for instance, 0.32 would be 32% and 1.0 would be 100%. In this case I will do 17%. Make sure to line up your text with the rest of the text!

Reopen the game, open your prison and find your prisoner. He should be dressed in Black and have a clemency chance of whatever you set him to. Your guards will automatically transfer him to an available Death Row cell.

Adding Death Row Prisoners to your Intake Pool

Another thing you can do is add prisoners to your intake pool. You will want to go back into your save file, do Ctrl+F and enter 'intake' all one word. Keep clicking 'Find Next' until you reach a screen that looks like this:

Find 'PrisonerCategory Deathrow' and edit the pool to up to 100 but not over because your game will most likely glitch out.

Reopen your game, go back into your prison and go into 'Intake'. Find deathrow and there should be the amount of prisoners you set waiting in the pool. Make sure you have enough Cells!!!!

So I had a Windows 10 PC and had to install code writer from the appstore once I finally opened the project, I lloked around but couldn't find the pools for a while until I searched for the Keyword with ctrl + f then searched "Pool" and I found it! idk if thats what Guywithagun said above but if you couldn't find it before search with the keyword "pool"
