Story-related Achievements

There are only four achievements you can't miss while playing the game:

Logan's Run: enter the city for the first time (starts Chapter 2).
Доберитесь до города (начало второй главы).



The Dead Zone – locate the bookstore (starts Chapter 3).
Найдите книжный магазин (начало третьей главы).



House – Find Chris (starts Chapter 4).
Найдите Криса (начало четвёртой главы).



La Jetée – Get the generator in a working order (at the end of the game).
Достаньте работающий генератор (в конце игры).

Missable Achievements

The rest 20 achievements out of 24 are awarded for optional activity. In fact, I have to say that 'DS:TCT' has one of the best set of achievements in Steam games - you are rewarded mostly for wrong (gameplay-wise) usage of inventory items, while many of the awards refer to some classical book, movie etc. that was the source of inspiration for Fictiorama Studios.
So - please have fun by try finding them yourself! I will tell all the solutions below - but hiding all them as spoilers.
The 'missable' achievements are listed by chapters - but sometimes you can get the achievement from, say, Chapter 2 later in the game. So the order means the earliest possible option for getting it.

"Необязательные" достижения сгруппированы по главам - но иногда достижение, к примеру, из Главы 2 можно получить и позднее. Так что порядок соответствует самым ранним возможностям получения награды.

Chapter 1

Fahrenheit 451 – upon exiting Rod’s trailer for the first time, use the notebook on the fire (the burning drum).

Soylent Green – after getting the food package, try using it in the oven in Rod’s trailer.
Достав упаковку еды, попробуйте применить её на духовку в трейлере Рода.

Chapter 2

Island of the Damned name / Who can kill a child? - Use the crowbar on suicide victims in the park (it is a reference to an old horror movie of that name).
Примените лом на самоубийц в парке (отсылка к одноимённому испанскому фильму ужасов).



God Told Me To – When Reverend Blake is sitting, give him the broken metal sign.

Westward – try to catch generator using the rope.

The Island of Dr Moreau – after getting the cross stick use it on the guards in the camp (sentry box).

Jacob’s ladder – when in Medical center, take a look at Main hall below the catwalk.

The Andromeda stain – read all pages of ‘Forms’ on the door of the Cleanup Brigade's closet in Medical center (these are Kickstarter backers with high-tier pladges immortalized).

Altered States – after you get the third vision, open the journal and replay all three of them.

The Driller Killer – use the hand drill on the location near the bar, first on ‘Drums’ to the right, then on ‘More drums’ to the left, and only then on ‘Line of Drums’ in the center (i.e. the right way – the drill disappears after that).
На локации возле бара примените ручную дрель сначала на «Бочки» справа, потом на «Ещё бочки» слева, и только затем на «Ряд бочек» по центру (т.е., по назначению – после чего дрель исчезнет).



Hellraiser – use rusty nails on the stone cross in the church.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers – try using the black bag on suicide victims in the park.
Попробуйте применить чёрный пакет на самоубийц в парке.

Chapter 3

The Nightmare Before Christmas – try using the wire with burnt-out lights (from the tool-box in Rose’s van) on suicide victims in the park.
Примените проволоку с перегоревшими лампочками (из ящика в фургоне Розы) на самоубийц в парке.


Deep Red – try to take the book with a red cover in the bookstore (‘Heaped books’).
Попробуйте взять книгу в красной обложке в книжном магазине («Куча книг»).




Piranha – after putting the rotten fish into the can, try using the can on the water (down by the tree near the camp).

A bucket of blood – after getting the bucket and getting hit by the soldier, try to use the bucket on blood stains.

Rosemary’s Baby – try using the burnt doll on cradle before giving them to Rose.
Попытайтесь применить обгоревшую куклу на колыбель, прежде чем отдавать их Розе.

Chapter 4

Stalker – take a look at ventilation grate in the sewers. (That's a trubute to Tarkovskiy, of course...)

Peeping Tom – try to take a picture of a hanged man.
Попробуйте снять висельника фотоаппаратом.



The Thing – After getting the generator, use it on Colin’s remains.
