Description
Release date: Early 2016
Intergalactic party racing mayhem featuring brutal-cute aliens, absurd weapon powerups, and smartphone controllers for up to 16 players

Space Dust Racers is an intergalactic combat-racing party game inspired by our love of retro combat racing and kart games.

Use smartphones, tablets and laptops as extra controllers to squeeze up to 16 local players into a game!

Set in a post-human future filled with cartoon aliens and exotic extraterrestrial worlds, you'll use fast reflexes and absurd weapon powerups to knock out the opposition as you drive around makeshift race courses on exoplanets far beyond the Milky Way galaxy.

Challenge friends and family in couch versus battles, dominate in online multiplayer, or race alone to win ancient artifacts from the long-expired planet Earth.

Lead the pack in frantic round-based combat where all racers share the same screen. Interfere with those still in play if you get knocked out for the round!

You'll learn the game quickly, with several party game modes and dozens of gameplay modifiers to mix things up later on.

Will you be eliminated along with the rest of the intergalactic riff-raff?
Or will you triumph, winning the entire stash of rare and mysterious Earth artifacts for yourself?

Features:
  • Use smartphones and laptops as extra controllers for up to 16 players in one room
  • Vehicular combat racing for all ages featuring gorgeous 3D cartoon characters
  • Battle friends on the couch, compete online, or adventure alone
  • Customisable party game modes with dozens of modifiers
  • Exotic extraterrestrial locations featuring absurd weapon powerups
  • Simple controls for newcomers, with advanced strategies for veterans
  • Round-based combat ensures quick respawns and allows drop-in drop-out play

Awards:
  • Winner, Indie Game Showcase, iFEST Melbourne 2015
  • Winner, Best Technology, Freeplay Melbourne 2015
  • Selected Project, Unreal Engine Showcase, GDC San Francisco 2015

Hi Michael, thanks for the question! All game modes (for local and online multiplayer) revolve around same-screen racing. This is how we can squeeze so many players into a local game, as we don't need to split the screen into 8/16 sections and people can use gamepads/laptops/smartphones as extra controllers. We've had a few people asking about more traditional split screen racing modes, but unfortunately this is beyond our current scope for release. Cheers!

Hey! Just found out about this game today and it looks great. Can't wait to play it! I had a question though. Will the online multiplayer only contain the similar one screen style game modes? Or will any traditional race modes be available online where you race with laps and try to slow down other racers with weapons/items?

Michael from Space Dust Racers here!
steviebwoy: Yep playing against AI bots is happening for both local and online multiplayer.
LuqqDK: We have gone through Greenlight already, I assure you we're working as hard as we can to get the game in your hands as soon as possible... hang in there! :)

Just wondered if you're able to add AI opponents to games? I think it would be a very worthwhile addition for those of us with two or three friends to play with, rather than 16! :D!

Steam! Why didnt this go through Greenlight yet? I dont get it. Get this to early access and let us follow the progress! :D
