Act 4: Life and Death.

Officers Edwards and Soga show up to drive Lara to the airport. On the way, they respond to a reported shooting in Chinatown.

Chinatown, main street part one.

Officers Edwards and Soga show up to drive Lara to the airport. On the way, they respond to a reported shooting in Chinatown. They find Burke's car in an alley near a laundry shop.

Examine the garbage container and the air conditioning above it.
Look at and talk to the man sitting at the laundry shop door. There is a “closed” sign in the window of the Red Dragon restaurant next door, look at it and pick it up.

Talk to Edwards, then Soga about investigating further. Soga wants Lara to sign a form to release equipment.


Look inside the patrol car and examine the coffee cup, the ignition and navigation. Take the pen that is on the newspaper and before exiting, look at and take a doughnut.

Use the pen with the form in your inventory and then give the finished form back to Soga.

Open the patrol cars trunk, open the white box, then take UV light and latex gloves.
Talk to Edwards about helping out.

Alley part one.

Examine Burke's car and use the UV light on the car door.
Talk to Edwards about the blood. Then go back to the street and talk to Soga. After a few phone calls , talk to Edwards to ask for help and to find out that you need to make "tags".
In your inventory, use the pen on the "closed" sign to make "tags". Now it is time to examine Burke's car closer and the alley.

As you enter the alley again, examine, without the UV light and with UV light, the foot prints and then tag them.

Do not click on Burke's car.

Lara needs to use gloves. Click on the gloves in your inventory and then click on the car.



Examine inside the car. Be sure to look at all hot spots inside the car. Tag the mirror.


Examine inside the car and items with UV light.


Remember to tag the dirt on the car floor, the bags, pack of tissues, the can, the paper and the file. The rest is done automatically.

When done, there should be 11 tags used, including the foot steps. Now Lara needs to explore the rest of the alley.

Alley part two.

Remember to look at all places/items without and with UV light.
Go to the left and in front of the metal fence.



Tag the bat.
Exit and go to the left and the entry to the warehouse.





Look at and tag the foot prints.

Exit and look at the Glassed-in entry room.



Tag the cigarette butts

Exit and go deeper into the alley.



Tag the Plastic-cloth fragment.
Exit and go to the right side entrance.
Exit and go to the metal fence with graffiti.



Examine the red stain.

Now it is time to look at all the evidence and put them in sequence.

Exit and go talk to Edwards.

You should have 15 photographed evidence, but you need only 8 of them. If any are missing, you can always exit the screen and go back for clue finding again.

Exit the folder screen. Edwards will report the findings and Lara will get permission to investigate further. Armed with a camera and a walkie-talkie, go to the alley where you found plastic bag fragment. Climb the boxes and go over the fence, exit thru a new exit, to go even further in the alley. Meet up with Kiera that is standing near a homeless man.

Saving the homeless.

Floyd, the homeless man, has been shot and needs help. Look closer and you can examine the wound, thigh, picture on the wall and a alcohol bottle.

Do not pick up the bottle.

Use the UV light on the bottle and bed, then pick up the bottle.



Use the walkie-talkie to talk to Edwards, then go back to the street and talk to Edwards to find out about first aid kit in glove compartment in the police car.



Read the manual and take the bandage, then go talk to the elderly man. You will see a pigeon.
Ask about the trained pigeon and cloth. After the cut-scene, talk to Soga and before you ask the elderly man to get a cloth, give him the doughnut.

After the cut-scene, pick up the splinters and talk to the elderly man again.


Use the splinter on the underskirt to get a strip of cloth.

Time to go back to the homeless man.

First thing that needs to be done, is to stop the bleeding.





Use the strip of cloth on the mans thigh and the use the pen to tighten the cloth and in that way, making a simple but effective tourniquet.



Use the bottle of alcohol on the wound and then the bandage.

Now, talk to the man and ask about the photo on the wall.

A life is saved and Kiera takes over the investigation of the yard and to search for evidence.

The yard investigation.

Examine without and with UV light in any order you like.


Broken cobblestone.

Examine spent catriges and small handcuff key.
The cartridges are 9 millimeter and looks like the whole magazine was emptied.


Ask Lara to take photo of both so they will be tagged.

Almost in the middle of the yard, there is some broken asphalt.

Use the UV light to look at it and it will be tagged.

A bloody shoe.
It is the last clue so far, time to analyze the evidence. Talk to Lara.

Small key + Unlocked handcuffs + Bag = Burke's release.
Spent cartridges + Shooting report + Shot homeless man = Shots in the yard.


Suspect's shoe print + Bloody shoe prints + Shoe with traces of blood = The shoe prints are Burke's.






It is the last clue so far, time to analyze the evidence again.
Talk to Lara again.

By the way. don't look at tag numbers as they change, depending on the choice you as a player have done. Some players like to start from the left and some players like to start from the right.
In that way, tag numbers might be different, but the number of the last tag is always same.




Shots in the yard + Evidence of shooting + Burke's shoe = Shoots at Burke.



Yells + Burke' release + Shoots at Burke = Contact's schizophrenic behavior



Burke's release + Shoots at Burke + Blood on platform = Run for the emergency staircase.



Press conference about Mission Street + File of the Mission Street case + Contact's schizophrenic behavior = Burke's fate.

Close the investigation and watch the cut scene.
