Valiant Hearts - Achievements Guide

This guide is for people who want to complete all of the achievements on Uplay.

Story Related

• Forward, March

  Chapter 1 - Casern
  Raise the flag at the end of basic training.
  
  Self Explanatory.
  
  

• A new friendship is born

  Chapter 1 - Neuve-Chapelle
  Shoot the tractor before it crushes Emile.
  
  When playing as Freddie, shoot the tractor that comes towards Emile and Walt with a cannon.
  
  

• It's all fire and death now...

  Chapter 1 - Reims
  Witness the zeppelin crash.
  
  When playing as Freddie at the roof (after Emile's part with the organ steam), Baron Von Dorf will throw a few grenades from the zeppelin, which the last thrown one isn't exploding. Grab that one and throw it to the propeller (left side) and then to engines (both sides).
  
  

• A glimmer of hope

  Chapter 2 - Crash Site
  Rescue Karl from underneath the zeppelin.
  
  When playing as Anna after arriving at the zeppelin wreckage, go to farthest left and pick the can with Walt. Then go upstairs twice and throw the can to the swinging missile ammo. Go downstairs, then right, and pull down the lever while dragging Karl by Walt. Then, treat his injuries.
  
  

• Cease-fire?

  Chapter 2 - Douaumont Fort
  Finish the Douaumont Fort mission.
  
  Self Explanatory.
  
  

• Revenge never meant happiness

  Chapter 3 - The Somme
  Defeat the Baron Von Dorf.
  
  When playing as Freddie in the tank after exhanging fire with Baron Von Dorf, go right until two tanks crashes to trigger a QTE fight scene. Defeat Von Dorf.
  
  

• So close yet so Far!

  Chapter 3 - Fight of the Bumblebee
  Escape the French army with Anna and Karl.
  
  Survive the "Fight of the Bumblebee" Taxi mission.
  
  

• Some will survive...

  Chapter 4 - Saint Mihiel
  Save Karl.
  
  When playing as Anna, save Karl through 3 sequences (the farm, before picking the First Aid Kit, after picking it).
  
  

• ... Some will not

  Chapter 4 - Maizy
  Finish the game.
  
  Self Explanatory.

Historical Item

• Never forget

  Find 5 historical items.
  
  

• To those who fell

  Find 50 historical items.

Other

• Ypres' wake-up call

  Chapter 2 - Ypres
  Ring the bell 3 times in Ypres.
  When playing as Anna at the gear puzzle sequence, climb up to the highest floor and hit the bell with meele attack three times.
  
  

• Helpful Laundryman

  Chapter 3 - Prison Camp
  Push all the laundry bags.
  After you get the medicine, go to the laundry room and give the medicine to the guy by using the pulley. Then, push the cart to the position where the guy is standing above and catch all three laundry bags with the cart.
  
  

• Brothers' Keeper

  Chapter 3 - The Somme
  Save your entire platoon during the battle of Somme.
  
  
  
  Shoot down the fighter and bomber planes while guarding your platoon from their attacks. You must not let anyone from your platoon dies. For the second part (after cleaning up the bunker), some bunkers will also join the planes trying to kill your platoon.
  
  

• King of the hill 145

  Chapter 4 - Vimy Ridge
  Shoot the German flag with the cannon at Vimy's Ridge.
  When playing as Freddy at the time when you must shoot two German cannons, there is a waving German flag. Just pull the cannon lever without changing its position.
  
  

• Healing hero

  Chapter 4 - Saint Mihiel
  Save Karl for the third time without making any mistakes.
  
  
  
  There are 3 sequences in Saint Mihiel mission when you must save Karl. In these 3 sequences, you must not do any mistakes. Fortunately, if you do mistakes in one sequence while the other two are not, you can just replay the sequence which you are not doing it perfectly.
  
  

• Good doggy

  Pet the dog.
  Press Space (Interaction key) when near Walt to pet him.
  
  

• Taxi Racer

  Complete 1 taxi mission without damaging the car.
  There are 3 taxi missions, each in chapter 1 (Danger from above), 2 (Taxi Cancan), and 3 (Fight of the bumblebee).
  
  

• Knowledge is power

  Read 30 historical facts.
  In game or mission selection, press Tab to read the historical facts of each mission.

Actually, you can replay only the last one (if Karl dies). If you made some mistakes in the first two sequences, you'll have to replay the whole chapter from the start. :(
