PAYDAY 2: Useful shortcuts

The ultimate guide for all possible shortcuts at all PAYDAY 2 heists.

Introduction

PAYDAY 2 Has a lot of shortcuts, some are known and some are unknown.
I think that everyone deserves to know them to improve their gameplay experience.
This is my first serious PAYDAY 2 Guide so i will try to keep clean as much as i can with my poor English.

Before leaving a comment, please note that i will delete every 'hate' comment in this guide unless its written politely with useful feedback and not just bashing.

Today, the 11th of March 2015 i am making this guide so for now i will post 5 shortcuts for the first day and try to keep this guide up to date whenever i find a shortcut.

Skills and Perks needed

MASTERMIND

Endurance: Aced
Why? 150% stamina gives you the energy to jump and sprint for longest distances.
Distances in terms of time.

ENFORCER

Transporter: Aced
Why? Not to waste too much time, some shortcuts could be useful while carrying bags.
or even easy loot like coke.

GHOST

Cat Burglar: Basic/Ace
Why? You can take a lot of damage if you fail a jump or even land it. depending on the distance.
I like to keep it basic, its a waste to get it aced. imo.

Sprinter: Aced
Why? Your Stamina will regenerate faster and you move 25% faster.

Shinobi: Basic
Why? Because your walk and crouch speed are being increased.
Get aced for stealthing purposes.

FUGITIVE

Thick Skin: Aced
Why? Because these jumping shortcuts are mostly recommended with suits or light ballistic armors.

Daredevil: Basic
Its not a must, but if you got the extra go for it.

Run and gun: Basic/Aced
Why? Because you gain more movement speed.
Aced is not a must unless you tend to use your steel sights.

Rest of the skills are up to you.

PERKS:

Anything you want really, as long as 'Blending In' is aced because armor is affecting speed 15% less.

Armors:

Suit or Light Ballistic Armor.

Other armors can work, but Suit or Light Ballistic Armor are recommended because they are light and give you a fine amount of speed to run.

Bank Heist

From roof to Main floor without taking damage

Not super useful but its faster this way if you're at the roof.
I am almost sure the windows only spawn on death wish, but i could be wrong.
But anyways, break the window crouch and fall on the small wooden walls.

From roof to road

Another easy shortcut if you don't want to take the stairs or open the gate.
Walk on the wall and jump towards the other wall or gate and then go down.
Sprinting is not necessary, works with money bags too.

Big Bank

Top floor shortcut

In some situations, the pathway between these two floors is blocked as seen in this GIF.
So instead of going the whole way around, you can simply jump on the wall and run along.
Very very simple honestly.

Roof to Office

Possible to do at other windows at the roof as well.
Just break the glass, jump onto the wooden planks and then down.

Election Day 1

Stairs to server room (passing locked door)

Usually the door is unlocked on the other side, but this was submitted by BananaBadger.
So i just went with it, its still somewhat useful i guess.
Jump on the railing at the stairs, jump towards the metal blocks and then jump onto the window.

Election Day 2

Fast access to camera room at left side

Camera room either spawns at left or at right side at this map.
In this image it did not spawn, but when it does here is a simple shortcut.
Cut through the fence at the left, go on top of the truck.
Jump towards the small roof and then onto the air conditioner.
Afterwards you can keep spamming sprint and jump, move a bit to the left so you can open the window and you can sneak inside.

Firestarter (Day 1)

Warehouse roof tops to Ground without damage

This can only be done with the Vantage Point asset.
Sprint towards the Blue little rail boxes or whatever they're called.
Don't jump and you should land it.

Skipping gate at back alley

Jump on the rails at the stairs, sprint jump above the wall.
Sometimes the wall doesn't spawn and there's railings instead, but this is incase one spawns and one doesn't.

Framing Frame (Day 1)

Enter the gallery without entry assets

Its very simple if you don't have the asset for a specific entry point or when the doors shut down on loud.
Just crouch and walk towards one of the gallery walls and you should land it.

Throw paintings to roof without leaving gallery

This is not a jump shortcut, its more a of bag shortcut.
It might take time to learn but its easy.
Take around two steps away from the wall and aim with your crosshair, laser or whatever you have towards the window.
Jump once without moving your mouse and release the painting once you're high enough at mid air.

Main parking lot to Upper parking lot

I didn't see this as a shortcut, but he proved me wrong that this can cut down on 2 seconds so i just added it.
Jump on the red car, then on the bush afterwards sprint and jump on the high wall and then move a bit to the left and you could climb the smaller wall.

Garage (Escape)

Shortcut to ramp

Pretty simple, when the escape starts take a left and run through the stairs.
Then turn left again and jump towards the ledge of the wall.
Sprint and turn left and keep rushing if you want to make it to the van before the cops spawn!
If not, then take a right after jumping off the ledge and lockpick the door.

You can also throw bags to second floor when you spawn and pick them up from there.

Hoxton Breakout (Day 1)

Parking Lot floors shortcut:

As simple as it is, just jump on the rail and press A and D when jumping down.
Be careful not to jump straight down because you could kill yourself like that.
So anyways, keep hitting grounds until you reach the bottom.

Hoxton Breakout (Day 2)

Director's office shortcuts in and out:

To make this work, stand on the rail.
sprint and jump towards the window or the wall near the window.

The window has a very small ground which you can stand on, as seen in GIF number 2.
Crouching in the air is not a must, that's just personal preferences.
This shortcut is useful when the Director's office entry is blocked, as seen in GIF number 1.

Top floor to bottom:

As simple as Day 1 car lot jumping, Stand on the rail and crouch.
Aim down, go left and then right to get into the second floor.
If you want to keep going down, do the same. This is a fast way to jump down the entire floor without taking that much massive damage.

Rush jump on counter

Highly requested.. no idea why..
so basically you jump on the railing while sprinting and land on top of the counter.
Then jump down.
Easy.

Hoxton Revenge

Jumping over the gate

Picklocking and searching for the right hole to break is annoying, so here is a way to jump over the gate.
The rock should be at the right after you spawn, just sprint and jump on it over the gate. simple.
Sometimes it might not work because there is a small invisible wall above the gate which you might hit, but its still possible to go above it.

Balcony to Garage roof [in and out]

In some situations, the drill or the escape chopper come to the roof of the garage which in that case this shortcut could be useful.
Jump on the wooden rail then on the garage door.
If you wish to jump back, stand on the high area of the roof and then sprint jump back to the balcony.
And if you're lazy just take the ladder.

Jewelry Store

Alley shortcut to back of Jewelry Store (in and out)

Not so hard, quite easy to learn.
Jump on the dumpster, stick to the left side of the wall and try to move slightly to the right so you won't hit the top left Air Conditioners.


In order to go back, jump on the window then sprint jump towards the pipes (if that's what they're called?) and then you can jump above the gate easily.

Its possible at the left side as well!
Jump on the box, then sprint jump towards the piper and then over the gate. simple.

Already said i will upload this the day i made this guide but May still felt nice enough to tell us about this so props to them as well!

Nightclub

From Top Bar to Office at Second Floor

This won't work until you have unlocked the door with a drill, ecm or keycard.
In order to reach the window, stand on the sofa sprint until you get stuck and simply space.
If you wish to jump back, sprint jump and then crouch in the air and you should land it.

Rats (Day 1)

Jumping out the balcony

Ever had a situation where the lab explodes or there's too many cops and you need a quick getaway?
Well here it is, from all 3 angles.
Jump crouch to walk out the window, drop onto the roof under it and then land on something small to dodge the fall like the wooden rails, another roof etc.

Shadow Raid

Rooftops overlooking to Main yard

Super easy, very rare to fail.
Simply aim towards the small boxes go back, crouch and hold W.

Tunnel to Roof

Another simple shortcut you can do.
Purchase the Thermal Paste asset and put it at spawn.
Pick it up, go to the nearest manhole at the gate and burn the first gate.
Go forward and go to the first entry which has a ladder to go left.

Open the manhole, go left and climb on the truck.
Jump on the blue container and then aim for the gate and jump on it.
Afterwards you can access the roof.

Back Alley lookout to roof

Incase there's a ladder in the back alley, you can skip the thermal paste and tunnel part by climbing up the ladder, jumping on the yellow container. then on the fence and afterwards the roof.

Bag shortcut toss from roof to Dumpster loot spot

Jump on the rails, ADS with a pistol and line your thumb up with the two red lights in the distance, jumping and tossing a bag will make it land in the dumpster.

Confirmed it will work with Money, Coke, Paintings and Armor bags.
Nearby Guards and Civs can be alerted if they see the flying bag.
Dumpster needs to be open before tossing it.
West Compound Wall Garbage loot drop off point asset needs to be purchased for this.

Rooftops overlooking stairs to Main Yard [2]

Wanted to make this for a while now but i was lazy, as usual.
So i'll just let Wolfgang take some credits.
Jump on the stairs railings, then jump on the air condishiners and afterwards over or inside the fence.

ECM Rush Truck to Camera room for Keycard

Can't remember who found this shortcut, but if they want credits they better leave a comment.
Anyways, jump on the truck then on the air condishiner and afterwards jump on the little black lines.
Spam sprint and jump and break the window to enter.

Train

From bottom train to Top of train

Works on other sides of the train as well!
Easy, just walk on the metal ramp and go up.
Works when going down too!

Climbing rocks at Forest

Its possible to climb all the rocks down at the forest below the train, so it doesn't apply just for this area but to the others as well.
As long as there's no invisible walls, its possible.
Simple, just walk and jump. sprint if you feel like it.

Watchdogs (Day 1)

Warehouse Balcony to closed gate:

Doesn't work with weapons that reduce speed.
For this, stand on the rail that is at the left of the warehouse balcony from behind the truck.
Sprint and jump aiming towards the gate.

Truck to Left Balcony

Another simple shortcut in case the gate is closed.
Jump on truck, then on the fence and then on the rail of the Left Balcony.

Alley to Right Balcony

Jump on the dumpster, then on the little box.
Afterwards keep spamming space and shift and you should be able to climb on those little hoses.

Warehouse balcony to Right Balcony and back

Stand on the window, sprint and make sure you jump when you are a bit outside the window so you won't hit the upper of the window and fall down.
Might take time to learn but its simple.
In order to go back, stand on the rail.
Sprint, jump and crouch in the air and you should be able to land it!

Warehouse Balcony to Right Balcony (rails)

For this jump, stand on the rail sprint and aim towards the fence or the rails and you should land it smoothly if you sprint and jump at the right time.

For those who are wondering why i am not updating this anymore, its because the Golden Grin Casino update broke the game to most players that have a low spec PC, so i cannot load maps and such without crashing. If i can actually load a map once out of 25 times i am just lucky but there's nothing i can do about it.
