The "True" Fastest Way To Level Up Solo In Dragonball: Xenoverse
By Happy Fun Cat
This guide will explain my method of leveling new characters that does not require spamming PQ 43: Old Rivals and Dragon Balls and PQ 53: Dangerous Duo! Warriors Never Rest, and without using a level 80 to run you through 7 Star Quest. Note: This guide is very out dated. The contents still work, but there are faster ways now and better quest! I am NOT updating this guide.

Introduction
Hello all who read! I am Happy Fun Cat and I am here to tell you my method for leveling up new characters from level 1 without the need to spam the Dragon Ball gathering quest like PQ 43: Old Rivals and Dragon Balls and PQ 53: Dangerous Duo! Warriors Never Rest, and without using a friend's level 80 to burn through 7 Star Quest.

Note that this guide is meant for players who have already beaten the game and started to level new characters with the additional character slots, not fresh players.

The quest we will be using in question is PQ 52: Great Ape Festival. However, there are a few skills and gear needed for this method.
The Materials Needed
Since this mission is not a burn through and ignore all enemies, you will be required to fight. "But how are you suppose to fight these Great Apes on a 7 Star mission as a level 1?!" I hear the voices in my head screaming. Fear not, for I have a method that can be used to all for an easy time with this mission, however, it will require a few skills and some equipment as well as a prerequisite to unlocking PQ 52.

Prerequisite:

The prerequisite required to unlock this quest is quiet simply completing the Post Game Bardock and Broly main mission. After you have done that, you will see Broly and he will give you a quest. After that quest is finish, you will have unlocked the last PQs.

Skills Required:

Blue Hurricane (Ultimate Strike Skill)

Info:
Allow me to say this is my favorite skill in the game BY FAR, and this will be your bread and butter for this PQ mission. Blue Hurricane is a skill that attacks enemies within the hurricane multiple times, and if an enemy sits inside the hurricane, the damage is insane, more so if you are lucky enough to get 2 or more enemies into the hurricane at once, allowing you to 1 shot most PQs that have more than 1 enemy to fight at a time. However, it is not without it's faults. The skill is very hard to use at times and in some cases, impossible to use while with another person or NPC on yourside. For this mission, that will not be a problem with the size of the enemy and you will hit the enemy with the full force of this blue masterpiece!

Drop Location:
This ultimate skill drops in PQ 10: Defeat Frieza's Army. The quest will throw enemies at you, in groups of 2 and 3 until you are able to enter Frieza's ship. Once this is done, you will again fight waves of enemies until the quest is completed. To be able to get the skill, you must Ultimate Finish this mission. This is done by clearing the mission in 10 minutes and defeating Ginyu, Burter (who drops the skill), and Jeice. It may take a few attempts, but this skill is well worth it and is required for this method.

Energy Charge, Full Power Charge, or Maximum Charge (Super Other Skill)

Info:
Unless you use a Z-Soul that regenerates your Ki over time, a human, or want to risk slapping a monkey in the face to get Ki, this is a must. Most of you will know what this still is, but for those who do not, it is a skill used to get Ki by holding down the skill and sitting still. The skills generate Ki faster based on which one is being used, Energy Charge being the slowest, Full Power Charge being second, and Maximum Charge being the fastest at generating Ki.

Drop Location:
Each of these skills (besides Energy Charge, which I believe you may start with, correct me if I am wrong) may be bought from the skill shop after a certain point in the story mode. If you rather not be bothered to spend the money (which, you will make back the money spent on these skills in no time during this quest) the drop locations are as follows: PQ 17: Challenger Hercule for skill Full Power Charge, and PQ 32: Super Saiyan Bargain Sale for Maximum Charge. Since I bought these skills in the shop, I have no idea who drops them or even if you are required to Ultimate Finish these quest, but I am sure someone nice will let me know. :3

Equipment Required:

Anything that gives increase to strike skills and does not decrease ki. A great set to use is Bardock's equipment that gives increase to Stamina, Basic Attack and Strike Attack, which drops off the stage you will be farming, and very easy to farm. All that is required is to beat Great Ape Bardock and if he does not drop a equipment, restart the level. It takes around 30 seconds to charge the ki required and to beat Bardock, so if you do not have this set, now you know how to farm it.

As for the Z-Soul, this is your call as long as it does not lower Strike Damage or Ki. A great one to use is "I'm neither Kami or Piccolo now..." which can be made in the mixing shop and is a very decent soul all around. Since you can charge your Ki, after every Great Ape, if you took damage for some reason, you can charge, sit and regain health for that No Sweat Bonus at the end. If you are feeling very cocky, use "I can't... It's all over... *sob*..." that drops from PQ 51: Heated, Furious, Ultimate Battle that drops when Vegita starts to basically cry during the fight, or "...If I can just reach my perfect form..." that can be made in the Mix Shop. Both of these greatly increase all stats, but will lower your stats if you take enough damage. These 2 souls are amazing, but if you get hit, your damage will be lowered greatly, and even healing will not reverse the effect (as far as I could tell from testing).
Start Spamming!
Now that you have the required skills and any gear that will not hender you on, you are ready to start spamming PQ 52: Great Ape Festival! For the purpose of showing off how it works, I will be using fresh character as well for testing.

Character Used For Testing

Level 1 Majin Male: Pip-Boy

Height: Small
Weight: Small

Skills:

Super Attack: Maximum Charge
Super Attack: Meteor Crash
Super Attack: Super Drain
Super Attack: Explosive Buu Buu Punch
Ultimate Attack: Blue Hurricane
Ultimate Attack: Paralysis
Evasive Skill: Angry Shout

Equipment:

Upper Body: Battle Suit (Bardock)
Lower Body: Battle Suit (Bardock)
Hands: Dynamic Strong Suit
Feet: Battle Suit (Bardock)
Accessory: Arale-chan's Cap
Z-Soul: I'm neither Kami nor Piccolo now...

For my set up, the only thing that matters is Maximum Charge, Blue Hurricane and any equipment that does not hinder strike attack or ki, everything else is just in case I get into an Ultimate Finish. And if you are wondering why I do not have Bardock's hands, well I was not going to farm for another one so I let it side.

Step One: Do A Gathering Quest! (Sorry)

Regardless of what I did say, you do have to do atleast 1 dragon ball gathering quest, so do 53, it is the fastest and gives the most exp.

My level 1 Majin finished in 45 seconds and gained little less than 20k, giving him up to level 15.

The reason for this is you deal no damage at level 1, and when trying this with a level one, I was only able to deal about 10% on Bardock per ultimate. So it isn't worth trying to do PQ 52 at level 1 sadly, unless you go into someone elses game at level 1.

Step Two: Kill Monkeys.

At level 15, you are able to atleast see you making progress on Bardock and the others. My ultimate at level 15 was dealing around 1/4 to 1/3 to Bardock and a tail grab took him to 2/3 to 1/2 health. By the time I finished the monkeys, it took me around 5 minutes, however, I got the ultimate finish and had to fight a time patroller. When I finished, the quest took me a bit over 6 minutes with 60k exp, making me go to level 25.

While testing, I did manage to fail the next time I tried on Vegeta without me paying much attention, but it did get me to level 28 because of it. After that, it just went all up hill. By now, things are really easy around level 30 and you should be able to burn through this quest in about 3 to 5 minutes, and only going to 5 minutes because of a time patroller spawn, and this will give you around 40k-70k a run, depending on how well you do. By the time I finished, I ran this quest 7 times (including the time I failed), at around 4 minutes each, giving you only 28 minutes of play time in the mission and adding another 20 to 30 seconds running back to the quest giver, selecting your character, and hitting start or space to get into the mission, adding about another 2 to 3 minutes added to that time, making it a grand total of no more than 30 to 35 minutes at the most and I was able to get to 51, even with me screwing up.
Compairing Dragon Ball Gathering to Monkey Killing
Great! You now have a new way to level up, but which is faster? Well, I don't have the time to get both characters to level 80 and time it, but I did time a bit of the Dragon Ball gathering one. In the 20 minutes I played a new level 1 (doesn't matter what it was, since you are just running around grabbing balls) I got to ~40 in 20 minutes soloing PQ 53, which, to be fair is faster than my killing monkeys. However, that is not max, and while the dragon ball gathering takes a minute each time regardless, you only get faster at PQ 52 the more levels you have, and I did not spend a single attribute point on my Majin during the leveling process.

Now you may wonder what difference it will make if I just, I don't know, throw all my current points into Strike Attack until it reaches 100. My time was cut in half easy, allowing me to finish the quest in 1 minute 30 seconds with no Ultimate Finish, and here is the thing, it can go faster, to the point of 1 shotting each monkey with only 1 ultimate if done correctly, give you 60k exp without Ultimate Finish in only 1 minute, which is only 20 seconds longer thant he adverage dragon ball gathering quest length of about 40 seconds, but giving 40k more exp, and even if you get on S instead, it is still ~50k exp in only 1 minute 30 seconds. Adding the time for running back to the quest bot for the PQ 53, to get more exp, you will have to spend 3 minutes doing 3 quest to amount a Z run in PQ 52 in only 2 minutes, 1:30 for the quest, 30 seconds for running to the quest bot.

But let's say you don't want to throw all your points into strike just to lower the time. Well, it doesn't matter. The best thing about PQ 52 also is the fact that the Ultimate Finish is beating a Time Patroller. Meaning chances for Dragon Balls, which at the end when you reach level 80, will we have, or be close to, having all 7 Dragon Balls, allowing you to reset your points and doing whatever you feel like. And if you are building a Strike Attack Character, congratz, you have a free set of Dragon Balls to wish yourself a new power pole, or to reset that horrible design choice for your character.
Tips and Tricks for PQ 52
There are ways to increase your success rate during this quest, whether it is decreasing time or making sure you get that pretty little Z at the end to get all of the exp. Well, here is a few tips and tricks for doing just that.

1) Descend during your ultimate, Blue Hurricane!

Blue Hurricane is an awesome ultimate, and even more so when you are able to do just this, descend. During the process of using this ultimate, your character is forced to the top of the stage, but he does not have to stay there. Descend down to the monkey's back and that way, once you are finish with the ultimate, lock onto the tail and get ready to grab!

2) Strike Points FTW!

As I already stated, putting all your points into strike increases the damage that Blue Hurricane will do, and even going to the point of KOing Vegeta and Nappa in 1 use and almost KOing Bardock or even KOing Bardock with the use of this next tip!

3) Strike a Pose!

Poses are not really my thing, but for stuff like this, they are super handy. Equip Fighting Pose B to increase your strike damage and watch their health drop!

4) Transformation Party!

Just because the monkey's transformed doesn't mean you don't have to, equip your Kaio-what or your Super Sandwich (not Super Vegeters) and increase that damage even further! (this should also work with FIght Pose B for amazing deeps)
Final Fla- I mean thoughts, Final Thoughts
I do thank you for taking the time in reading this! This is my first guide I have ever written and honestly, I was tired of everyone saying the dragon ball gathering quest was the fastest way to level, it really isn't. In my opinion, for 1, it is boring as crap, atleast with my method you are doing something. Opinion number next, this, to me, is the fastest way to gather dragon balls and level at the same time. While other methods may be faster, PQ 2, PQ 18, PQ 15, this method, again, allows for leveling and gathering. In some cases, I have a higher drop rate for the dragon balls on this PQ than the others, but that is for another guide and another time. If you like, just be like meow in the comments or something, I will get it. If you don't like, let me know why! I would love to keep doing guides like this and would like to know what I did wrong or what could be fix for the future. If you just don't like me, that's fair I guess, just let me know that too.

Either way, I had a blast writting this and I hope I atleast expanded some of your leveling options rather than having Trunks keep telling you to gather those balls! With that said, peace and love to you all!

You are correct, but this guide was about speed, not the concept of if it is possible. Plus if you screw up, you lose out on experience, it is more time consuming due to the fact that they need to work with you in order to pull off a non-stamina broken tail grab.

Unless there was some magical update that made it much more simple in the time I wrote this guide, over a YEAR AGO, then I think the above methods work just fine, giving how out of date it is, and could be polished up, it still works.

im talking about being lvl 1 here...
Happy Fun Cat  [author] Oct 6, 2016 @ 10:16am
No reason to grab the tail if you are able to 1 shot the monkey, and even if you don't, I did also explain to grab the tail afterwards. There is next to no reason, however, you will ever have to grab the tail if you are doing it correctly.

did u ppl know about grabing the oozaru tail? i mean for 52 no matter the level, grab that tail -.-'
