Unlocking The Lost
By rad
You may have heard about the Lost before, perhaps on Steam forums, Binding of Isaac: Rebirth websites, Blogs, YouTube videos, or some other way, but you don't know how to unlock him. Until now! This guide shows you every task you need completed if you want the character, even the hardest ones. Plus, it'll all pay off when he's unlocked and ready to be played. So give it a go and see if you can actually get the Lost.

What is the Lost?
The Lost is a ghostly character recently added to the Binding of Isaac Rebirth game (Edmund McMillen) and can only be found through completing specific deaths. For this, it appears to be a specter in the form of Isaac that starts with zero heart containers. His abilities are that he can fly over objects, shoot at a *mediocre* distance, and exchange the Deal With the Devil trades without losing heart containers. Unfortunately, he can not recover any hearts, be them spirit, red, erethreal or sin, and thusly stays at a dangerously low heart level, open to deaths, traps, and damage waiting to kill him. To beat the game with him is improbable and only the best can do it.
Getting The Lost: Step 1 - The Suicide Bomber
The first death needed to complete the grueling task of unlocking this ghastly soul is to die to a Mulliboom as Isaac in the Basement. Now, obviously, the Cellar is certainly a far better candidate for the first death as you are more likely to find Mullibooms there. A good seed for this is Q2V4 YZET, a seed with Mullibooms crawling all over the levels, and, though you may not know this yet, Mullibooms are unseemingly rare, and to find one is just pure luck. Use the seed.

These are Mullibooms, by the way.
Getting the Lost: Step 2 - The Masochist
Onto death number 2 now, and this one is much simpler (and less rage-inducing): Magdalene, in the Caves, is required to pass from repeated injury from exposure to her own bombs. Yet again, Catacombs works also in moderation to the Caves. AQAD A76B will help you with this, as the Pyro Item, giving your character an additional 99 bombs, appears on the Basement Item Room for this seed. Again, not as frustrating to do, so this one will not take you nearly as long as the first one with Isaac and the Mullibooms.

This is the Pyro item.
Getting The Lost: Step 3 - The Unloved Child
Next death is with Judas, where he needs to be crushed by Mom in the Depths or the Necropolis Floor, your options being her hand, eye, or her foot. Be warned, though, because, if killed by one of the other enemies, like a fly, the run will be faulted and, sadly, you're back to the beginning with Isaac, my friend. If you want to be certain Mom will cause you death and nothing else, stand in the very center of the room upon entering; her first attack is always stomping her foot down, no matter what you do or when you enter.
This Mom. Not this Mom!-------------------------------->
Getting the Lost: Final Step - The Satanist
After you have defeated him, you move onto The Devil himself. Do not, I say, let him kill you by the brimstone attack, but rather his bloody tears. You're safe if you kill his normal form, but his stomping hooves are your last resort, then. Die to them, and you've got the Lost. Note: when doing this death, never try using a seed. Then, the run won't count, and, sadly, you're done for, kid…

Also, note that the use of Azazel is mandatory - shall it occur that you use any other character, you will earn neither the achievement nor the character, and then it's back to the drawing board for you!

See the monster shooting bloody tears at you? That is Krampus! Don't let him kill you!
You Did It!
You just spent your entire day slaving away at the unforgiving computer only for the rewarding sensation that you can finally utilize the non-existent powers belonging to the most useless character in the game. For that, you can proudly proclaim that you have unlocked the *almighty* character people like to call The Lost. If you did actually complete all this, you know you did a good job.
Thanks For Viewing!
If I forgot anything, please contact me about whatever I left out or had mistaken. I'd be glad to correct my mistakes.
Cheers!

As Determinator says, this is out of date. I think you have to update this to note that, as far as I'm aware, you just need to have a character die while holding the Missing Poster. Am I right with that? I was sure it had been changed from the gauntlet.
